Mom: Kick Potter Out of School

Full story: WXIA Atlanta

Laura Mallory is not a Harry Potter fan, and she isn't giving up the fight to have the popular character taken out of elementary school.

Hmmm...that last line is exactly what Laura Mallory said. I just noticed your ISP. Are you Laura? Her husband? A relative?

I call BS, you didn't read any part of them.

Yes, November, though I'm not sure why they moved the release date again. I'm excited too.

V is for Vendetta is a perfect example of what would happen if christianity took over the government.

Scott if your so outraged about HP what about the goldem compass maybe you should go to that thread and preach your intollerance.

DON'T YOU DARE TRY TO SIT IN JUDGEMENT OF ME!!!! I know where i am going when i die and i can't wait to see the pearly gates but you know a childrens book isn't gonna bring down the whole of christian society. You say that there are alot of people on this womans side, great good for her, but there are a lot of people who say exactly what i am saying, its just a story and most 7-12 year olds don't look at it as a story of the devil there are no subliminal messages in it, you seem to think that a child has the same mindset as an adult. To wrap it all up, a) Judge lest ye be judged; ye with out sin may cast the first stone; b) if you don't like 'em just don't let you kids read them and quit trying to sway everyone else in their opinion of this book. Let God be God and you quit trying to act you know everything because you don't and everyone faces judgement day, and so will you and you won't just hear "well done my good and faithfull servant" you'll hear EVERY SINGLE SIN THAT YOU HAVE EVER DONE and then you'll hear that. Jesus ate with the prostitutes and had his feet washed by the scum of the earth out of that he always showed them love compassion and acceptance. if you ask me you are not being very loving and accepting so don't spout out lines of my God and then judge people the in the next breath.

If the schools need to remove HP and other fairy tales, they should be sure to include the fairy tale book known as the Bible, as many schools do carry it on their shelves. I am of course kidding. I have no fear that my children are going to contaminated by the Bible or other books they get at the library. I encourage them to read and explore a variety of literature that we then discuss together. If I saw that there was a book I had concerns about, I would be sure to read it and discuss my concerns with my children.
If any teacher in public school required the bible as reading there would be a howl of protest much louder than laura's. They go crazy when something as simple as prayer or the pledge of allegience is perscribed. They'd pull out their hair and jump off bridges if someone said a child had to read the bible.

Scott you and this woman that wants HP out of schools are both completely self absorbed. If you want HP out of school why not Homers Illiad and Odessy. Or maybe the works Tolkien. Both of you are narrow minded simpletons. Maybe you should go to the school and take a closer look in the library. If you think HP is bad take a look at some of the books that talk about drugs, violence, murder, and other acts that are factual aspects of whats happening in the world today all presented in some work of fiction on one shelf or the other. I guess that would mean sherlock holmes would have to be removed from the shelves as well. The brothers grimm ring a bell fairy tales with all kinds of things that should curl your hair. how about The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Peter Pan, bedknobs and broomsticks and many others where does it end when the library is empty except for books only approved by christians. what about books that are ok with jews or muslims or maybe the native americans. When did christian rights become more important that the rights of other tax paying productive parents reguardless of their religious views.
I never said i wanted out of schools. I just supported her right to ask that it be removed. I would have all parents ban it from their homes completely. And boycott it so no one would ever publish such a work again. Schools is just a small skirmish in a much larger battle. That banning being of their own free will not forced.

Never met her. Wouldn't know her if she slapped me in the face. There is a silent moral majority. We rule this country and we will rule the universe. We are heirs and co heirs with christ. And we are already seated with Him. That's why we often sound the same. For we often speak by the same Spirit.

Where is the judgement in that statement. And if it is it waa Jesus who said it not I. I just repeated what He said. Your arguement is with Him if you don't like it. I said so should you. Not knowing which path you were on. I hope the narrow path you must decide that for yourself.

See, I told you never read any part of it. There is nothing about Wicca in the HP books. We are not the only ones defending the books, many people of various religions do the same. And we ALL defend the books, Pagans and Christians alike, because they are wonderful FICTION books, that we love to read. Perhaps you missed the Christian here on the board. The reason many of us are Pagan/Wiccan is because the article was posted on the Pagan/Wiccan forum, along with any other forums it got posted to.

I've never seen you on any other Topix fourms, either, just here on the Pagan/Wiccan forum. So?

Wrong, you are not silent, and you are not a majority, merely a loud an obnoxious lunatic fringe. And you, in particular, are insane.

We don't worship the devil at all. Satan is strictly a Christian concept. But please, don't let the actual facts stop your ranting.

When Jesus referred to the narrow gate. To jewish ears they knew exactly what he was talking about. It referred to the multi colored gate at the opening of the tabernacle showed to moses. It ewas thirty feet wide. Quite narrow for the millions who wanted to pass. Thirty to symbolize the Lords age when He started public ministry. Multi colored to show everyone of every nation was welcome. He was correctly saying tha the earthly tabernacle was a duplicate of the heavenly tabernacle. But none could enter except thru Him. He stated(not me) that all other attempts to enter safely into the spiritual realms would fail. You can enter. But not safely. Many ears were offended then as now. But His words are still true. He's not referring to anyones culture. Or lifestlye. He said simply bring your lifestlye thru the narrow gate. He will eliminate what He wants in His time for He is the Master.

Absolutely not true. Many of our regulars on the Pagan Forums post on many other boards. Another untruth that you are spreading, our supposed devil worship. How can a person worship something that they don't believe exists in the first place?
