This article is so bogus and political. The Mayan Doomsday Calendar is from the 11th century and not thousands of years old. Additional Mayan codex were discovered by archaeologists months ago and THE WORLD IS NOT ENDING.

The next edition of the Mayan calendar will be with kittens:

(I was so hoping to find an actual Mayan calendar with kittens on it, but this is close, photoshop challenge, anyone?)

1rst sextrain, if the leaf of the oak falls down from the tree,I say down and not up,the stream that flows south to north will create a breeze that shall make the earth on a sandy rock move in the direction of the wind. This will take an effect of blue sky without cloud.Do not shudder,do not be thyself squeamish but eat of the green pear only at these troublesome day's.

I think EarthChild's comments were relevant. I think it if important to note that not everything that claims to be linked into Neo-Paganism or 'ancient' Paganism really is. Sometimes it is just the same old tired 'end-times' crap that the monotheist have been trying to peddle for millenia as well, but they attach it to "ancient Pagan Gnostics" or some other vaguely legitimate sounding thing that probably never existed. I do know Pagans that buy into this stuff, and other conspiracies, or New Agers or other people looking for meaning outside of the "Big Three" religions. It's good to be prepared for emergencies and self-sufficient when possible, but paranoia is not a prerequisite.
