I would imagine you'd have to keep your spiritual beliefs very much to yourself if you're a practicing witch in a Muslim country. May I ask... would you be afraid for your lives if this became public?

There are some neo-pagans and witches in Egypt. And other Arab countries and also Israel, which is considered middle eastern also. I remember reading about "Palestinian Wiccans". Well, even though there's not very many of Wiccans, witches, and people like Hindus and other Pagans in the middle east, because it is predomanantly Moslem, but there still are. And there are Wiccans, witches and other pagans in Israel even though the main faith is Judaism. I feel sorry for them though, the witches, because of some of the witch hunters that have a fear and hatred for this different kinds of people who claim to be real witches. In Moslem countries if the radicals find out you are a witch, Jew, Christian, Pagan, Atheist, Gay or Bi, a harlot, or a non-Moslem or a person practicing vampirism, or a Moslem who is not a radical they put you in jail and/or cut your head off or hang or shoot you or disown you. I remember hearing about this Egyptian man who practiced witchcraft and he was handing out Harry Potter books to ppl who were moderate Moslems and some stupid terrorists found out and they shot the ppl who took the books and they burned the sorcerer alive. But they didn't show his picture on Fox News bc it was to awful. I'm not a witch, but makes me mad when some ppl out there like to be prejudice.

I've been interested in wicca/witchcraft and I'm really trying to find anyway to learn about it in Cairo, Egypt. I'm Egyptian and exploring Wicca and witchcraft. I'm still not sure if I want to become Wiccan or a non-Wiccan witch.

Folks, just out of good intentions I would like to tell you that Islam and Christianity BOTH forbid the practice of magic this is because both teach that ALL sources of mgic are Jinn and Demonic pacts. You might learn Wiccan Arts, the Dark Arts, Shamanism, "White" Arts or whatever you find but it is but a sugary coated trap devised by the unholy to try and suck you in... they will make you do horrbile things and soon you will find your self addicted to the feeling it gives you. I speak of experiance and trust me folks they will trick you in the most unpredictable ways and once you fall... rising back up will be pinful and (in some cases) will drive you insane. And remember; Good Intentions are the shortest way to Hell.

May God ward us from the powers of the unkonwen.

Wicca is a Pagan, earth-based religion. It is not part of the Abrahamic triad. We do not believe in Hell, we have lots of different beliefs about what comes after death, but none of them include being punished for not believing in fairies or gods, or a particular fairy or god.

We have our own ethics and guidelines which have to do with living meaningful, honorable lives. Your God/s are not our Gods and there is no conflict except the one in your mind. We accept that people may have other beliefs and faiths, but we do not deserve to be bullied, guilted and reprimanded. People have practiced mystical arts since the dawn of time and nothing about if they do magic or not makes them a good or bad person. There have been people who practice the formal ceremonial magic in temples by preists of your religions; and there have always been the midwives and herbalist who practice folk magic in every place in the world REGARDLESS of the prominent religion of the day and regardless of any silly rules of the predominant religion of the day.

Hey there,

Look, I am not patronizing anyone. In fact I am just trying to layout my opinion for everyone to consider and choose whether or not they should heed it. Now, you must understand that there is nothing such as magic. The illusion of magic is -in summery- the act where a practitioner breaks the shroud between us and the parallel dimension where the powerful beings we call demons reside. Once the shroud is broken the incredible feets performed by these beings is what we are led to believe is magic.

Such creatures will require of the practitioner different rituals to grant him out he needs. In the case of Wicca, the Demons simply wish of the practitioner to believe in the Mother-Nature Deity (i.e paganism). Never are the requirements out of good intentions btw, even if they seem kind or "holy". Even if they heal the ill or convince you they can wake up the dead.

Now, you may or may not give a damn about what I am saying. And I know it is very tempting to follow a cult/religion where you can actually have your prayers answered or miracles performed before you. But remember that there are believers who too can perform incredible deeds and even abolish your so-called Deity. You just have to seek them out and challenge them to see if they speak the truth.

As for you referring to how old Magic is... Magic is as old as we are because without humans demons would have nothing to prey on. I will suggest an experiment! Meet up with your Wiccan Circle and start meditating and performing a ritual (one your coven is experienced with) but before you do this bring a copy of the Quran and memories Chapter 1 (Al Fateha) and Chapter 113 (Al Falaq) then start reciting in complete concentration (in Arabic if possible) with the Quran before you. Perform this challenge (you can also have a recorded Arabic reciting of the two chapters with you) and you will see the ritual diminishing.

I am a Muslim btw. So all my words originate from Islam and no faith but Islam.

Those are links for both Chapters and in both Arabic and English.

This one is also viable if you wish to recite a longer chapter.

Your babbling about demons and your misinformed opinion about how you think in your Hollywood horror fiction mind that Wicca is practiced doesn't change any of the factual statements I made. We are another religion like many others in the world. We are not connected to any of these Abrahamic religions and therefor none of their holy scripts pertain to us. There are no demons or hell other than what torrid minds like yours imagine. The fact that you spin lurid, false, tales about a religion you know nothing about is patronizing. It doesn't matter a bit if your *opinion* of for instance, of Judaism is filled with fantasy about demons and blood rituals, when the reality is that they are simply another religion in this world with their own Holy book, devout rituals, and guidance on living a decent life. Go pester your own flock. That is the only place your religious texts have any validity.
