Last time I will post to you: Pagan is a blanket term! It covers a variety of faiths. You cannot make this claim since Paganism is NOT ONE RELIGION! It encompases anyone who is not of your faith, not Muslim and not Jewish. Buddhists don't even eat meat because it HARMS AN ANIMAL. Many Wiccans and Pagans take the same stance on harming animals, and won't even eat eggs or fish.

One who identifies themselves as a Pagan is a polythiest, most likely a Goddess worshiper, who believes in the sanctity of ALL LIFE! "As ye harm NONE!" Killing=harm, understand?

There is a WEALTH of information out there, if you make the SLIGHTEST effort to seek it out. Start at www.religioustolerance.org .

<quoted text>When did Christians use human sacrifice? LOL!
The word was Sacrifice. Not Human Sacrifice. Of course, such issues as David Paying for his Bride fro King Saul with the foreskins of 200 slain Philistines, comes to mind, but that wasn't sacrifice, it was slaughter.

LOL, Oh no "official" wars, just nasty little "conflicts" because that sounds so much Better... Like the trouble in Northern Ireland....

Thank you. The KKK doesn't affect my faith either. Jesus taught love, pure and simple.

Oh, please debate with me, but don't use facts to contradict my beliefs. Well, since the crusades are off limits, how about the Spanish inquisition? Or for that matter, how about the conquest of the new world, where conquistadors used violence and fear to push an economical agenda in the name of Christ?

The gods of my ancestors also offer eternal life. They, and my ancestors, love me unconditionally. They also have rules to live by. My son in on the path of Asatru, following his Norse ancestors. He learned early the Nine Noble Virtues:
Courage
Truth
Honor
Fidelity
Discipline
Hospitality
Industriousness
Self Reliance
Perserverance
He lives by these. It's fairly simple - be the best person you can be; don't make oaths you will break; be strong and honorable in everything you do, and know that any consequences of your actions will be yours to bear or enjoy. My path is a little different (I follow the Baltic path), but it's really not all that different.

Hitler was a devout christian, although he wallowed in symbols of the Norse religion and sullied it's image almost beyond repair. He claimed that the Jews needed to be killed because they killed Jesus. The Klan has done the same. So have various skinheads and other hate groups. You could say, no, they're not real christians because they're not like you and don't believe like you, but that's the label they have taken on themselves.

I'm a bit odd in my beliefs in that I DO count the Mjolnir as a "Holy Symbol" for myself along with the upright Pentacle. I believe in the Asatru principles and try to honor them as well as the Rede. I don't know of any forefathers I might have in Valhalla but I would hope they wouldn't mind a guest....

Knit and Pray,
How's my favorite holy worrier? By the way I know where you got your handle, you knit lies and pray on others. All so clear now.
Now on to this "sacrifice" kick of yours. One no we(Wiccans)don't. Life is sacred and we treat it as such. Pagans of history some yes some no. Mostly animal but there has been some but they are not use. Historically speaking both Christians and Jewish people had their share of ritual animal sacrifice.
Now let me ask this; If someone in history kill a person in the name of Christ would you say they was following the path of Christ? Keep that in mind when someone clams Wiccans sacrifices a living thing. We don't do this.

Just to be clear so bare with me on this. Don't cancer what can be used unless you wish to be centered. Next not my pagan religion it was some one else's. Last I looked pagans have not start any wars in the past several thousand years. So what is your point other than wanting to demonize modern pagans. Oh and you misspelled Christians. Being one you may wish to check your spelling. Sad a dyslexic, Wiccan clergy checks his but don't check yours.

I do and I also follow his good lady wife. Why do you ignore her?

Yes the divine dose. The law of physics, chemistry, math, so on. The universe is God and God is the Universe.

<quoted text>Pagans do, they have done millions look at the history of paganism.
Please remind us all of Cain's and Abel's sacrifices, and which one was accepted. There are also hints of human sacrifice in the Bible, though it is highly contaminated, as there was a long period of time where the common people were not allowed to read the Bible- the priests were "the word of God." During this time, many changes were made to the Bible... some to favor certain practices of the clergy and the royalty, some to make it more "acceptable" by society's changing standards.

But I suppose if you want to be technical, Jesus was a human sacrifice.

However, that's in the past. While pagan religions have done sacrifices in the past, it's just that- the past. The same as with Christianity... or would you like to play some more?

what kind of god would write a whole book about leaving people on earth to suffer if we don't believe in him. Isn't that what revelations is about. doesn't sound like something I want to be involved with. I haven't heard of any wiccan or pagan god punishing people for any reason. we have a code of ethics written in our three fold law that we abide by so do your research before you judge us.
