No you were just hoping they would. I would remind you this is the U. S. A. and everyone has the right to freedom including speech, lifestyle , and the right to piss off you liberals.
So, conservatives like you actually agree with what the Westboro Baptist Church is doing, then.

Good to know.

If you tell them to shut up then you have to shut up too. So then nobody will know who is evil and who is isn't. We can all just sit around and speak when whoever is in charge tells us too-as long it is what they want to hear. Get what I'm saying? Kind of like Obama trying to shut FOX NEWS down.

In that regard, I can agree with you.

HOWEVER...

...with "freedom of speech" comes the clause that you must accept responsibility for your actions -- or words.

That's right if a law is broken because of your words or actions.

Thanks! That WAS interesting.
I am a meat-eating male, though.

Thanks for answering. Maybe sometime you'd look at this site. http://www.madcowboy.com/index.html

Have you heard of any laws being broken in opposition to Westboro?

Perhaps there have been 1 or 2 such cases. I would almost expect it.

You could also say the same for the KKK, or NeoNazi groups operating in the US. I place Westboro in the same category.

Any bets on "oh, brother" agreeing with everything they stand for as well?

Ok liberal, you just insulted me. I was wondering when you would show your true colors. Just confirms what I've always said and known about libs. There's really no point in trying to discuss anything with people who know it all and believe they are above the other 80% of Americans. I'm done here.

I would have recommended that you first have denied MIDUTCH's accusation before labling him a 'liberal' and leaving.

Now the rest of us (1) know that you're most likely a far right conservative, and (2) have to wonder whether or not MIDUTCH was correct.

You're totally right, they DO have that right. They have the right to be complete nutty dingbats, which is what Westboro Baptist Church are. They aren't playing with a full sack. These guys make the most ardent YEC's fundies look totally rational.

And considering their popularity at soldier's funerals, are you SERIOUSLY attempting to claim that the VAST MAJORITY of the USA are Liberal?

For what it's worth, I'm a conservative and I've dealt with WBC personally when they protested at my nephew's funeral. They do have the freedom of speech to do what they do. Are they right for doing it? Hell no.
These people do not think straight and it's scary to think that one of them would end up in a position to make decisions that would affect school children. They're already twisting the minds of their own offspring. JMHO.

Don't know if it's available to watch on youtube or whatever, but Louis Theroux did a doc on them in 'America's Most Hated Family'. Sometimes funny, but at times tragic to watch.

I am not only a conservative, but also a Constitution supporter. I am also a Vet. But while I believe in free speech and the right to worship, I draw the line when those two rights infringe on the rights of a grief stricken family to bury their dead in peace. Westboro Baptist goes too far when it dishonors young Americans killed serving their country by demonstrating their hatred at these fallen warriors' funerals.

Well said and I totally agree. If there's any good in any of this it's that people are standing up to these clowns more now than they were in 2006. In the last year or two people are showing up by the hundreds to support the fallen soldiers and their families. We did have the wonderful men and women from the Patriot Guard by our side. What a great group of Americans they are.
