Therein lies the danger of voting along straight party lines. How dangerous that in many areas of our country we have constituents that are too lazy to investigate the backgrounds and platforms of those running for office.

Brownback usually supports his fellow Repubs but will not back/endorse Wu. Wu stated that was a good thing as far as he was concerned because "“The poor governor needs to obey the commandments of God and stop being a vile Catholic”.

Isn't a Katydid one of those beautiful little animals like a grasshopper or the locust that spends seven years in the ground and than come out in the seventh or eighth summer. Insects are so human. That maybe or you had an old girlfriend from your high school days named Katy. When I was in high school girls were very loose and wild, and we sometimes got high during lunch. Kansas has changed a great deal. Today if a person gets caught smoking pot with an undercover officer, they can arrest them 8 months or more after the act.
Astonishing. And it seems everyone smokes pot in California even if it doesn't rain there.
Females are fairly very pretty in Kansas, but politics are extremely corrupt. They will not let you move away, least not alive.
In Kansas, Kansas begs big business to move to their cities, and mostly large slaughter houses, Kansas provides big tax breaks, sex, and un heard of scandle. They can use Christianity as a cover, but they are all corrupt, and you can die in Kansas real easy. Most people with eyes and ears die there.

Well there was this one funeral, I think it was in OK. While they were off doing their thing, somehow all 4 tires on their van ended up flat. The three local garages refused to help them! They had to pay to have their van towed to another town and replaced the tires at a WalMart.

While I disagree with the action, I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment.

They just ran smack into their own Karma, that's all. I've been on the opposite side of the street from these hatefilled bigots. Personally, I can't help but think they got what they deserved.

I thought I was going to get to stand on the opposite corner from them, but they never showed. They had posted that they were planning to protest a funeral in Fairbon OH, so a number of groups planned on being there to shield the family from those idiots, including the Patriot Guard -- but Westboro chickened out. I think that was the week they tried to picket Comic-Con

Comic-Con? Seriously? LOL.

They were picketing middle schools in the next county over from me, right when school let out. The school my kids and I went to for the counter protest sat on a huge road, and the scum had to stay across the street, while we were on the school's side of the road. The cops kept stressing that we should stay behind our barrier, and made it clear that it was because if they had to arrest anyone, they didn't want it to be any of us. It was inspiring, many different religions, both military and civilians, all ages on our side. All pulling together, and getting help from the passersby in their cars, to drown out the hate spewed by the WBC. And it was Shirley leading the hatemongering. The students leaving the school couldn't even hear them. It was great :)

Yes, they really did picket Comic-Con in San Diego. I don't remember the state, but they recently protested at a militray base and a bunch of college kids got together and went and counter-protested dressed as zombies, apparently the Westboro members were angry because they felt they were being made fun of! LOL.
