Fundamentally yes, the belief is the same.....unfortunately though, because some male clergy in the Catholic Church have been or are involved in horrendous 'sin'(probably beyond the imagination of the average 'lay' Christian), it is difficult to believe that anyone would even want to be associated with these 'leaders of the Catholic Church'.........read 'In God's Name' by David Yallop....a book that uncovers corruption in the Catholic Church, for a better understanding.....
