It is interesting that groups that are themselves not mainstream--in fact, outcasts in society--will turn on others that they perceive to be outsiders, strangers to society. Actually, today gays and lesbians are by and large mainstream Americans. Maybe the Mennonites, who are not, are simply jealous?
