I watched the channel 6 WPSD-TV presentation of their 'Ice Storm 09' so-called 'Documentary'. I was amazed at how little footage they actually offered of the regional damage. What I did see was not so much a coverage of the great winter storm and its effects but rather a montage of their on-air personnel REPORTING on the impending storm. Little snippets showing first one reporter then another excitedly warning us of the storm. I did not keep count of the time spent showcasing their staff but it must have been more than 50% of the program. Why did they not take a camera crew and just simply tour the area if they wanted to show the damage. As it was, they showed very little of the more heavily damaged areas. I saw the same shot of a pole falling at least 4 times, and the same with a particular tree breaking, as well as other scenes repeated for effect, the same montage repeatedly. Were these the only shots they could find ?? Then there was the gathering of the entire news staff at the end, telling everyone what a great job they did ! What a puff piece ! They try so hard to emulate 'big brother'NBC that they fall flat on their face ! A vanity showcase of channel 6 news/weather staff maybe, but A documentary of the ice storm it is not.
All STYLE and NO SUBSTANCE... And they are selling that thing at 20 bucks a pop. Unreal.

If you are from Southern Illinois you will like WPSD. If you are from Kentucky or Tennessee forget about it!

That's right...if your from KY, to to KFVS12 or www.westkentuckystar.com for information. Everyone else only reports what their friends want them to report on. I hate the new WPSD LOCAL 6 name...nothing is local on it.
