********** REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER **********

1- When you think of 9/11, think of religious extremists.
2- When you think of muslims, think of mormons, and jews, and buddhists, and hindus, and atheists, and christians.
3- When you think of Barrack HUSSEIN Obama, think of the trillions of dollars Bush and the GOP spent on hunting down Saddam HUSSEIN for oil instead of going after Bin Laden. Then think about them whining about this debt that they still haven't paid down.

I'll remember alright.

OK, I'll ask, how will Romney unite our country? His plan for the economy is a sure job killer. Is it the plan that when everyone is unemployed we will pull together? Is it his plan that after he has made our situation bad enough we will pull together to replace this monstrous government? Is that the plan?

The plan you outlined is actually Obama's plan. Look around you.
In January 2009, he said he would focus like a laser on jobs. At the time, there was 7.6% unemployment. Today, what do we have? With Obama's plan, we have 8.3% unemployment. And, it's even worse for Obama's core constituency.
Obama has never made any secret that his objective as to replace this monstrous government. He's attacked the Supreme Court and Congress, not to mention individual states. His vision is to replace this government with a dictatorship, wresting all power from the people.
He's attacked foreign nations without consulting Congress.
He's murdered American citizens on mere suspicion of treason.
He thrust a health care mandate down the throats of American citizens even through there has never been a time when even half of them wanted it.

He incurs an additional debt of a TRILLION dollars each year without regard to the American people. In a nation of 330 Million, this means you now owe more than $12k today than you did when he was elected. How does that sit with you, Middle Class?

And, more to the point, he continues to point his finger of blame at American Industry, American banks, and other American businesses. Oh, Obam's failures are not his own fault. No way. The problem lies with everyone else. Anyone else. Even you will be a target some day, no matter how much you believe.

Simply stopping this finger-pointing is all Romney has to do. Instead of working against American political, commercial and financial institutions, Romney will work together with them to get the job done. He's done in with the Olympics. He will do it again.

So far I see two replies to my question about what Romney would do to unite the country. Both appear to be rants against Obama. I am not an Obama fan. I don't like his policies. He has not united the nation, but then bush caused much of the division.

The tail of the second response simply stated stopping finger pointing is all he has to do. I guess that doesn't do it. The division is because the right wing wants to continue to redistribute all our wealth to a very small number of families (17). The democrats play that that is a reasonable request, to be negotiated. Neither position is reasonable.

I would have expected an answer to look something like, Romney would encourage job creation, Romney would rebuild the infrastructure, Romney would encourage investment in start up companies, Romney would get rid of CAFTA NAFTA and the other extremely unfair trade agreements. To unite the nation, there would have to be an overhaul in the tax code so the middle class doesn't have to pay such giant subsidies to the very rich. Overturn ObamaCare by implementing universal single payer to reduce costs, and increase health care access, and provide a huge bonus to businesses (they would no longer have to pay even a portion of health insurance for employees).

But no, instead, the responses were, Well, Obama is a bad guy. We don't like Obama.

The items you cite are all worthwhile atons to take, but I don't think they directly address the question you posed about how Romney would unite the nation. We can argue all day about how to change the tax code. Gracious! Congress does it continually. I don't see that discussion leang to unity, which i not to say we hould not have that discussion.

The question is how to unite the country. The first step must be being PART of the country. A President who publicly slaps the Supreme Court, berates Congress and chatises American banks, American industry and other American engines of the economy demonstrates that he considers these institutions as "them" in an "us vs. them" arena. This propensity to publicly cast blame does not lead toward unity. It is divisive. If you want unity, it is the first thing to change.

Thank you. At least it is an answer. I don't necessarily agree. For example, publicly slapping the USSC as divisive? Not in my opinion. The USSC is about as partisan as it can be. They openly ruled the they have the option of overturning any election they want. And they did in 2000. They threw out our election and appointed bush. To ignore their horrible behavior is to encourage more bad behavior. The USSC must support the constitution, not rule that they can do anything they want.

I would draw the analogy to robbing a bank. You don't negotiate with the bank robbers on how much of the bank's money they have to give back. They have to give it all back, and go to jail. You don't treat it as a way to draw everyone back together by allowing the bank robbers to keep their ill-gotten gains.

This is not to say I am an Obama supporter. I am not. I didn't vote for him last time and I won't vote for him next time. I believe he has tried your suggestion. As an example, consider Obama care. It is the same as Romney care. Obama refused to even consider suggestions from the left. Those who wanted to have single payer universal care were arrested to prevent that plan from receiving a grade. The GOP was adamant about not having single payer, so Obama dropped it before the negotiations even began. Obama tried to placate the left with a public option, which was in no way reasonable. But under pressure from the right, dropped that as well. We ended up with what the GOP wanted right from the beginning. It was somewhat funny watching the GOP try to hate Obama while he was giving them everything they could think of.

As to berating congress, the last poll I heard indicated about 12% approval. That means 88% don't approve. That is one item where we appear to be united.

So overall, I don't think your suggestion will work, as it is being tried with no success. I think a better solution would be for politicians to be more honest (on both sides) but I doubt that will happen.
