Shall we sing a go round of We Thank Thee O God For A Prophet?

How about Put Your Shoulder To The Wheel?

I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy already.

In your observations you might take notice how some people willingly let their cold feet chill their susceptibility to "burnings of the heart". They remain in the cold when all the time they could have come in and warmed their hands at the fire that is burning around them, "and they knew it not". You are welcome to come back inside anytime. But until then, if you want a little jacket, try to not let those who try, yet fail, keep you from becoming all that you can be.

What are you going to do without Postum?

Don't worry, with the number of Starbucks being built around the Valley, I am sure you can get your fix.

Hmmmm, I wonder why so many Starbucks are being built with so many Mormons living here? Surely they are only ordering Hot Cocoa and Green Tea.

I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump. I ran over and said: "Stop. Don't do it."

"Why shouldn't I?" he asked.

"Well, there's so much to live for!"

"Like what?"

"Are you religious?"

He said, "Yes."

I said, "Me too. Are you Christian or Buddhist?"

"Christian."

"Me too. Are you Catholic or Protestant?"

"Protestant."

"Me too. Are you Episcopalian or Baptist?"

"Baptist."

"Wow. Me too. Are you Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Lord?"

"Baptist Church of God."

"Me too. Are you original Baptist Church of God, or are you Reformed Baptist Church of God?"

"Reformed Baptist Church of God."

"Me too. Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1879, or Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915?"

He said: "Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915."

I said: "Die, heretic scum," and pushed him off.

MOHAN,
I've come to the conclusion that the ones who can't come to grips with the "burnings of the heart" thing has nothing to do with their beliefs per say but has more to do with how they process information. On this forum I feel the preferred communication style, its inborn, of each of the types keeps everyone at odds. I would bet the majority of the types on this forum and maybe on most others come from the Rational and Idealist groups. Both are a minority compared to the other two groups. In real life both Rational and Idealist get along famously and many are friends or mates, you know, opposites attract.

The Rational types are exactly that: rational & logical, they are a thinking type not a feeling type so to them they need to understand anything in a logical, sequential, systematic way that is very different from how the feeling types make decisions. The Rationals for the most part are very intelligent but they are rare as are the Idealist group. Rationals have to have proof, that's why many of them are scientist, mathematicians and they use concrete language. They are very well read and that is one of their inter drives...they are life long learners. Many will provoke an argument just to chide one into to presenting a case. I have a brother who is like this at times...but isn't this very scientific?
The Idealists are feelers, are spiritual, are connected to things unseen, their language is abstract...eternal, forever...things that can't be proven. Both are sincere from where they are coming from.

Personality Types
MBTI
Myers Briggs Type Indicator

Fortune 500 Companies use MBTI in hiring and promoting, education is starting to use it, its a great parenting tool...
There may be a corralation between the 8 or 9 Multiple Intelligences a Harvard led study:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_of_multip...

Howard Gardner, the originator of the theory of multiple intelligences, chose not to include spiritual intelligence amongst his "intelligences" due to the challenge of codifying quantifiable scientific criteria. Instead, Gardner suggested an "existential intelligence" as viable. Gardner's peers have responded with research that charts existential thinking as fundamental to spirituality. Notwithstanding, Gardner established the scientific foundation within the discipline of education theory and its interdisciplinarity, that has yielded the emergence of spiritual intelligence discourse.

This site goes into the research about Multiple Intelligences and MBTI and learning styles.

Burning in the bosom?

No, I do not have burning in the Bosom.

I do have spiritual experiences. I do Speak in Tongues. I do have Gifts of the Spirit. Burning in the Bosom is not one of them.

I do not base truth on feeling, but I do have feelings. I feel the excitement come over me at times that is from God.

I have a simular feeling come over me when in the Super Dome during a football game when many of us are excited about as play that just occurred. The chill of excitement that we feel there is not a result of something God has blessed us with about himself.

We feel those chills of excitement many times and especially when many are excited about the same thing and standing there together.

There can be an excitement just being in the middle of people excited about the same thing.

That type feeling does not make anything true other than being on the same wave as another.

People all over the world share that feeling about one thing or another.

Many have that feeling while worshiping in Error. It does not make what they believe true. It is not sound judgement to base truth on the feelings we have.

God is not there waiting for us to present something to Him as a preconceived idea we have gained from another and bless it with a Burning in the bosom feeling. It is difficult to counter a Burning in the bosom to the one who expects it as a confirmation of truth about something.

Satan has the power to grant Burning in the Bosom.

Satan's miracles in the Last days will rise far above Burning in the Bosom. He will arrive as an Angel of Light and speak many truths in support of His Lies and endorse many things that oppose God and even stand in the place of God on this Earth with plenty to support his case.

Kind of like that sick feeling you get when you realize that your going to shoot a load and she did not take her birth control pill earlier in the day?

"WHERE ARE THE SMART ONES ??

Not in Utah.

Say, lets all go down to the Utah Capitol Building.

Separation of church and State do not exist.

See, old Gordo is going to be dedicating the rebuilt portion of the State Capitol.

Nice.

'SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News)- Utah's state capitol is almost back in business.

The capitol's re-dedication ceremony will be held Friday afternoon with LDS President Gordon B. Hinckley giving the dedication.'

Get ready for Mitt to take over the US. The secure fibre optic telephone line is almost complete from LDS Church HQ's to the White House.
