But the question that we all should consider is what we are saying based on truth or our own understanding on matters.
What does it means to be a Follower of Christ?
Many people would say, I am a Christen, but in truth in order to say that you are as such, one must understand and follow what Christ stated and what he taught his follower. Like that of Luke, Paul, Matthew, just to name a few.
Looking in Gen 2:24 - 24 That is why a man will leave his father and his mother and he must stick to his wife and they must become one flesh.
I never saw were God made Adam two wives, nor did it say, he must stick to his WIVES and they will...
Yet if the marriage was left with in the churches, that many claim it should be..
Perhaps some you might Consider this...
1 Timothy 4:1 to 3 - 1 However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons, 2 by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, marked in their conscience as with a branding iron; 3 forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be partaken of with thanksgiving by those who have faith and accurately know the truth.
How many Priest and other religion have told their leaders, you cannot marry and now they are to tell the people whom they should marry. While other religions say, must not eat meat, or you must eat any food for a time.
If they are followers of the Christ, I never heard him say... John you cannot marry but Paul you can. Peter sorry no Red meat for you only fish.
But what about this so called marriage. Some would say I am a Christen, but I am a person that likes same gender relationships. Then how is that possible to call yourself a Follower of Christ when Saint Paul wrote to the Corinthians in his first letter to them:
1 Corinthians 6:9, 10 - 9 What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10 nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom.
May say they follow Christ, many claims that they believe in the bible. But how many people live up to what they claim to be.
For even the bible gives a suggestion of age for a person to marry. Yes it is true...
1 Corinthians 7:36 - 36 But if anyone thinks he is behaving improperly toward his virginity, if that is past the bloom of youth, and this is the way it should take place, let him do what he wants; he does not sin. Let them marry.
Bloom of youth - able to make choices and understand the outcome.
Many states consider this at 18 years of age. Others consider it a little younger but with a side note that they must have a parent to give consent to this matter. Why is that, because the state does not really consider them able to make choices that they understand the outcome.
This may be a shock to some or some may consider this a bunch of jumbo information or that the bible was written long ago and times have change. But how can you call a person a Christen if they are not following what Christ taught his followers and what they left behind us to read and understand.
When you’re in a group of people and you want to conform to their way, how do you do that, well the person that had set the pattern would be the one that you would follow so you could be identified by that group. Likewise, what the Christ did we must also do in order to be consider Christen
John 13:13-15, 13 YOU address me,‘Teacher,’ and,‘Lord,’ and YOU speak rightly, for I am such. 14 Therefore, if I, although Lord and Teacher, washed YOUR feet, YOU also ought to wash the feet of one another. 15 For I set the pattern for YOU, that, just as I did to YOU, YOU should do also.
But this is just a person passing by...
