what are you talking about??? then THEY were the bizaare ones...because CHRIST AND CHRIST ALONE is my Savior! Nobody gets between ME and my testimony for the living Christ and Messiah! mormon and Joseph Smith were prophets like Noah, David, Isaiah or any other prophet or apostle of Christ. they are NOT to be worshipped simply appreciated. |

Here is just one, singular example of "oppresion" living in Utah: FOR EXAMPLE, for arguments sake: The Seventh Day Adventists' believe Saturday is their Holy Day. Why not close stores and such on both days of the weekend - if we're not really just kowtowing to the Morman Church? |

The Morons, named after Moroni, the guy that wrote their book (or Mormons, a.k.a. Moroni's son, as they would like to be called) used to preach that blacks could not enter heaven... and then did an about face about 30 years ago so they could implore black members of the populace to line their fat pockets thus leading the way for compounds like the one in Texas to rape and molest small children. It's a new PR thang. You know the biz. They're here for new 'converts' a.k.a.'donations'. Wheeeerreeezzz myyyyy biiitcchhheeezzzz ?!?!?! |

I can understand what you said and maybe this will help you find it easier to talk with your mormon friends. Jesus Christ is the backbone of our belief system. I can't speak for other mormons but as for myself ( and i think many others) we strive each day to be as christlike as we can. This is also true in other religions. Jesus Christ is a part of everything we teach and worship. Our love for him and our heavenly father is boundless. They are the foundation of our belief system. So you see we do not worship mormonism, but by following our beliefs and living them daily we are showing our love for our heavenly father and Jesus Christ. This is how we worship. By keeping the commandments and the words of wisdom. |

The first point to all of this that you MUST understand: The LDS church is ALL POWERFUL in Utah. Everything, from the time you wake up until your head hit’s the pillow, the LDS church has had a hand in. Their followers are devout and un-questioning - they do as they’re told, when and how they’re told to do it. Supposedly, The Angel Moroni showed their first leader, Joseph Smith, where The Golden Tablets were buried... The basis of their religion (think Moses and the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai...). Joseph had a habit of being a weird neighbor, and hearing lots of voices,(and liked to have sex with lots of different women - in the name of God, of course!). Because of their plural (“Polygamous”) marriage habits, in the mid-1800's they were driven out of civilized society in Missouri and Illinois (they - at that time - wink, wink!- thought one man with many wives and dozens of children got you into a higher the level in a tiered-heaven system you could attain... even to the point of getting your own PLANET!), and they headed westward… I’m not even close to kidding here… They settled in the barren, desert-like Salt Lake Valley. The thinking for them back then was: NOBODY would follow them here - the sand, the dirt, hostile Indians, a lake with un-drinkable water... you get the idea. Well, in a few years, lots and lots of people were moving west - cheap land due to the US government letting people homestead land, and as time wore on more and more western territories were becoming states. The US government gave the Mormon Church leadership an ultimatum: you will cease and desist all polygamous activities... or else, no statehood for you, and the wonderful benefits that go with it! Suddenly, their Prophet had a vision: polygamy was no longer needed, and was to stop being practiced by members of the LDS Church immediately...(and as long as each and every family continued to breed like rabbits... to perpetuate the species / oops!- "Religion"). The new radicals of the church broke-off of the main church and for the FLDS Church: Fundamentalist LDS church, who moved south to the St. George area of Utah and… propagate their kind to this day. Blacks were seen as people destined for Damnation in the LDS church… and their coloring, the “burned” color of their skin, was “proof” enough for them. Although they actively recruited blacks for membership (more tithes = more funds for the church…), they could never hold any type of leadership positions or be ordained. Until 1978. Remember that pesky Civil Rights Law LBJ signed into legislation in 1964, the one MLK died for? Uncle Fed finally grew a pair and told the church elders that, in effect, if blacks cannot hold leadership positions in public or private in your state, you’ll loose federal funds for your highways… schools… you get the idea. Their “Prophet,” in yet another AMAZING revelation (and, ONLY prophets may have these wonders…) said, um, yeah - guess we should let blacks hold public and private office in our state… what were we thinking? Their leadership, when confronted on issues they know ARE MORALLY WRONG, tend to do ABRUPT about-faces via "revelations" through the head of the church, aka: "The Prophet" - a simple, mortal man ELECTED to his position, just like the Pope. Yet, He is given almost Divine interpretation and powers over their scriptures and the entire congregation. Look up the definition of cult - there ‘ya go! |

continued, from post above...

actually...my description was far more correct since we have NOTHING to do with the FLDS Church and leave the molestation to other churches who have perfected the heinous crime... believe you me, with OLD polygamy and race issues and mountain meadow massacre as anti mormon ammunition- we don't need to fuel that fire anymore than what it is... let the FLDS take their own heat...PLUS to show that we're not involved in their mess... HAVE YOU SEEN 1 black person in that FLDS compound? no..NOR will you since THEY ARE RACISTS and have no inclination of changing that. and to reiterate that it had NOTHING to do with black AMERICANS that caused the change..it was because of black BRAZILIANS as well as those who were mixed down there because they couldn't tell if someone had African American blood in them... SO yes, to clear things up...you CAN be black and latino at the same time...for those who are too ignorant to figure that out. There are SEVERAL black Brazilians and they are latino. My wife is one and there are plenty within her family as well. |

I would like written proof of this...because...THIS was NOT the reason for our change...as I said..it had NOTHING to do with BLACK AMERICANS. IT IS VERY EASY TO SEE IF SOMEONE IS AFRICAN AMERICAN OR HAS AFRICAN AMERICAN ANCESTORS. IN BRAZIL, IT IS VERY VERY DIFFICULT, BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE THE SAME LEVEL OF RACISM THAT WE DO AND HAVE BEEN MARRYING AND FOR A LOT LONGER AND THERE ARE MORE INTERRACIAL MARRIAGES AND KIDS THAN WE WILL EVER HAVE IN THE USA...SO...PEOPLE WERE GOING INTO THE TEMPLE EVEN BEFORE IT WAS "OK'D" AND THE CHURCH COULD NOT EVEN INVESTIGATE IT...they didn't want to cancel the memberships of HUNDREDS of people who were obviously paying tithing..and risk losing respect from other religious communities by kicking them out. |

1 The BASIS of the religion is NOT Joseph Smith, it is Christ. The importance of Joseph Smith is showing that he RESTORED the Church as it was when Christ and his apostles were alive. Christ's ministry and his actions are the foundation of what we believe. Joseph Smith simply restored it to these days. The space between Christ and his apostles being on the Earth till the time of Joseph Smith is known as the Apostasy when Christ's Gospel was NOT here on the Earth. We recognize and commemorate Joseph Smith's restoration of the Gospel...and the RESTORATION is important to us, but Joseph Smith was a prophet in the same way that Moses, Isaiah, and any other prophet was. |

1 This is off topic..and has nothing to do with how it affects Black people They were FORCED out of Missouri via Executive Order by the governor...come on you have to hit ALL of the facts..not pick and choose the ones you like. Never mind that the country was raised upon the FREEDOM of religion and the irony that a religion was kicked out of the USA... |

1 you were actually not too far from truth there...see, not too hard.. they didn't break off..they were EXCOMMUNICATED for STILL maintaining polygamy, but go ahead decent so far... Until 1978. I covered this already..move on.. Their “Prophet,” in yet another AMAZING revelation (and, ONLY prophets may have these wonders…) said, um, yeah - guess we should let blacks hold public and private office in our state… what were we thinking? |

1 He is not elected, he is ordained by God. AND The Church has not waivered from The Curse of Cain, they have not repudiated it even if the members wish they would. The Church although unpopular, is not in it for the popularity, and are not going to be mainstream in order for people to feel more comfortable with it. There are other religions that will cater to you if you need that. nope, nothing like the pope..we don't have any smoke to indicate our Prophet. The prophet has the same book of Scriptures that I have and I cannot remember the last time there was a major doctrinal change to the scriptures. There might be a word here and there, but there has never been a huge doctrinal CHANGE within the Book of Mormon or The Bible in over a century. there is no "almost" about it, he has received divine interpretation and the power of a Prophet, Seer and revelator for Christ's Church. Actually too, if you DO look up Cult...remember that it is ANY GROUP of people with a common belief which would include Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and ANY other religious belief system. |
