Huge problem for Sharon. But mine is different as I believe I am an Anusim and cannot prove it to myself!!! How can I solve the problem???? Any help??

Since your ancestors were converted by force, you are a Jew under rabbinic law. If you just want to know where the Jews are in your family tree, you have to do the usual genealogical research.

If you are looking to live in Israel as a returning Jew, you have to deal with the rabbinic courts, as Sharon did. If not, it depends on whether you want to join a synagogue or not.

Rabbinic authorities differ on the standard by which anusim are defined as Jews. Orthodox congregations might require you to convert to Judaism as a non-Jew would, but some Orthodox authorities say that most anusim are in no position to prove their Jewish ancestry and should be welcomed as full Jews. Conservative and especially Reform Jews are far more welcoming, and less legalistic.

National geographic did a DNA test on Israeli and Arabs living in the middle east , and found more than 1/2 of them have NO connection to the land of ISRAEL/ PALESTINE.Infact they have found over 1/2 of palestinians had the COHEN GENE which symbolises the SEED of Abraham.

Basing that most probably some palestinians may have been jews who converted centureis ago.Also in Gulf Arabs.

Goes back even further than that. The tradition is that the Semites are the descendents of Noah's son Shem; the black Africans are the descendents of Ham; and the Europeans the descendents of Japheth.

The Arabs trace their particular ancestry back to Ishmael, Abraham's son by his slave woman Hagar.

Personally, I think the whole thing is legend. The Semitic peoples are as diverse as any other group. Often, it's the people who are closest that fight each other the worst. Look at the Judeans and the Samaritans.
