First you have to know what "in the truth"
means. Is it Gods; truth or not.
.
Can you be "in the truth" when you ask where is the scripture that say Jesus came invisibly and picked the WTS to be Gods' mouthpiece and there is no such scripture? It must be a lie then ans not "in the truth".
.
Can you be :in the truth" when the WTS says you need the org for salvation when Jesus said he is the only way? That also must be a lie and therefore no "in the truth".
.
Can you be" in the truth" when doctrines are flip flopped and you are told they came from God and you must believe them, then they are thrown out because they were not from God or they wouldn't need to change? Having to believe what came from man is a lie.It is not "in the truth".
.
Can an org that prophesizes falsely be "in the truth"? What does God say about false prophets?
.
Can lies be "in the truth"? You know the answer and you know what you should do. If you lose your JW friends then you will know they are fair weather friends,
.
You should know what is the most important...your JW friends or being in Gods truth.
.
Only you can decide what is more important to you and be willing to live and die with the consequences.

I think most people can see for themselves that the JW's are closest to following Gods word.

I'm in the Truth because I want to get as close to Jehovah as He will allow me to get.

I'm the only JW in my family.

Jesus is the TRUTH...and if Christ dwells in your heart through faith...you have the best friend you could have in the Father and Jesus Christ.

They then teach us to love others , and our challenge then is to show love to others and let our light shine...

The onus is then upon us to learn how to be a true friend , in imitation of our Lord, even when people were reviling him, and show mercy to others who may be more locked up, in themselves.

That's good.

When you finally figure out that the JW's are a cult and leave they will still associate with you.

They will have the problem not others..because would you like someone who promotes a 'sect' right or wrong , as a friend?

would you want someone for a friend who misrepresents Jehovah as an organization instead of a SPIRIT?

Would you want someone as a friend who promotes as "the anointed" ..men in America? Or someone who promotes Jesus as THE Anointed"

seeing as " ANOINTED means CHRIST"?

What an insult to God to think that liars and false prophets are anywhere near God for God has said to get out of her. Don't you read the scriptures, man711 ?

Closest isn't good enough

Jesus come to bring many sons to glory..and witnesses teach that the majority of witnesses can't be sons of god...until after a thousand years..thwarting Jesus work.

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one come to the Father except through me"

"I am the door; whoever enters through me will be saved, and he will go in and out and find pasturage. The thief does not come unless it is to steal and slay and destroy. I have come that they might have life and might have it in abundance. I am the fine shepherd; the fine shepherd surrenders his soul in behalf of the sheep. The hired man, who is no shepherd and to whom the sheep do not belong as his own, beholds the wolf coming and abandons the sheep and flees.....I am the fine shepherd, and I know my sheep and my sheep know me"

"And I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; those also I must bring, they will listen to MY VOICE, and they will become one flock, one shepherd."(speaking to the Jews about the nations)

and that he might fully reconcile both peoples in one body to God through the torture stake, because he had killed off the enmity by means of himself. And he came and declared the good news of peace to you, the ones far off, and peace to those near. because through him we, both peoples, have the approach to the Father by one spirit.

I used truth as an expression not a fact, it's a term of phrase.

Many have no choice for why they are rank and file members of a publishing company. They were born in to it. So of course their WHOLE life with family and friends are there. They are told that everything not of their organization is "evil and from Satan", so there is a great paranoia of "Us against the world" that is inculcated from birth to the day you die or armageddon comes. In the end, they are so afraid of loosing all of that and then they are further told "where will you go?".

yes, I can see it too. JW'S are closest to following God words. Man711, how close is Abraham arrival to Beth Sarim in San Diego, CA. You see the Watchtower predicted that Abraham was supposed to arrive at Beth Sarim since 1925 with a barbecue. Do you have an answer, Mr. Man711?

The WT teaches that they are the only ones "in the truth". The WT /JW believe that as a fact ...A false fact when you look all the flip flopping and the teachings that are not found in the scriptures and therefore man-made doctrines that change frequently which teaches confusion.

A sense of belonging and community is one of the basic needs of humans. Humans are naturally sociable creatures and often seek out each other's company.

High control groups like the Jehovah's Witnesses know this and use this to demand conformity within the group. They have created a world where there are two groups "worldly people" and "JWs. Associating with "worldly people" is strongly discouraged, leaving only the association of JWs and family to be a member's only association. By the practice of shunning, anyone they feel doesn't meet up to Bible and organizational standards are cut off from this group and family by being disfellowshipped.

It is an effective deterrent. Too many, being disfellowshipped is like being dead. When you walk into the KH, your friends will not greet you, they won't ask how you are doing, and most won't even look your way. But all this changes when the elders deem it that you are repentant.

So for many Witnesses, especially those "born in the truth" this is all they have. Just as most of us wouldn't think of giving up our association with our friends and family, JWs to feel the same and often conform to the org's demands out of fear of losing their sense of belonging. They think in terms of "Where else would I go?"
