<quoted text>As you continue to lie! I never said everyone that wears a cross is worshipping it. Quit lying. Your own refernces prove you are the liar.I said the cross is worshipped. Is English your native language cause you sure have a hard time understanding it.
this was your reply to my post.

<quoted text>are you saying everyone that wears a cross worships it as an idol? can you prove that.
Are you forgetting the WT jewlery made and worn by some JW, the logo WT on their magazine folders, and TMS folders, perhaps they could say the same of some JW.

Man 711 said: You know darn well the cross is worshipped. Anyone that says differently is ignoring the facts before their own eyes. Read the definition!
__________

and your still saying it, you just said that a JW that wears a WT jewelery is idolatry also, so those that wear a cross is also idolatry. My post was are you saying everyone that wears a cross worships it as an idol.

YOur reply you know darn well the cross is worshiped.

Now which is it, of course some people worship the cross that is a fact in churches, some that may were a cross also, that does not mean everyone wearing a cross worships it, some just don't think twice about it, they just wear it a jewlery, most don't even give it a second thought.

Worship of the cross is idolatry.

No one is denying that.

However, Christians DO NOT worship the cross.

Christians worship Jesus.

He sounds a lot like Snorkler when he says he didn't say what he did say then he says prove it like no one read what he wrote.
Saying you're a liar won't hold any water for we ALL know you're honest.Even they know you're honest but they have a problem with telling the truth.

I think you missed the point according to the context in which it was written.

1 Corinthians 1:17-18
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Paul's focus was not on baptizm,it was on PREACHING the Good News.

Let me ask you some question from those scriptures.

1) Jesus sent Paul to preach what message?

2) What is that message called?

3) How is the cross of Christ effective?

4) How does the bible describe those that do not preach the cross?

5) Why is one group saved and another perish?

I'm curious "man_711"... for those who you believe don't worship the cross, why do you think they wear it?

May i ask what did you specifically hear coming out of their mouths when you saw them bow down before a cross? Are you sure what you saw was not someone bowing and praying and praising God and Christ before the Cross...

There is a a huge cross on the wall in the sanctuary in my church. During our service, when we have prayer time, we have "symbolic alters" where we can go to humble our-self before God and bow or sit on our knees and pray to God. For someone who doesn't understand the significance of this gesture, it would look as though we are 'bowing' before the cross on the wall as the alters are in front of the cross.
Did it ever occur to you that whoever it was who you saw 'worshiping' the cross was merely humbly praying to God and it being done before the cross was showing belief in the power of God through Christs sacrifice on the cross?

And if the person(s) you heard were actually worshiping the cross then they got it wrong and do not understand what the cross is for, you can't put all of us in one big box as doing the same thing.
My father is an active JW and he is the most hateful man toward all non-JW's I have ever met. He gives JW's a bad name... should I put all of you into this one category of being hateful people because he doesn't understand?
You are 'picking' on the cross because the WT teaches that it is pagan. If they didn't tell you it was pagan, you wouldn't feel this way about it. This is what is engrained in your mind about the cross and how we Christians view it... They teach that we worship it and you can't deny that. Maybe you should read scripture without the aid of the WT literature and ask God to help you see what the message of the cross/torture stake truly is as 1 Cor. states.

How about the other 4 questions? The answer to all the questions are in the two scriptures, see if you can find them.

1. The gospel
2.“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” So in other words what his death did for man.
3. The death symbolizes life that Jesus opened for Adamic sin not the actually method of death.
4. Those that do not preach will perish.
