Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints (polygamists) didn't celebrate Christmas or Easter either.

Some Amish/Mennonite groups don't either, but some do.

Any others?

Christians Celebrate the "" FACT"" that God became Flesh and dwelt among us.

We are not going to stop !

We have a day for that Celebration, we are NOT going to change it !

If anyone doesn't want to Celebrate ,,, FINE !

Nothing posted here will Change Christmas !

Even Mr. Grinch, couldn't steal Christmas !

It's in the HEART !

What will you people do when the govermenments turn on religion and they say no more x-mas and colored eggs? If you know anything about the Bible it speaks about the goverments turning against religion in the days b4 armaggedon.

no I do not believe so

I witnessed to a WOCG adherent for some time he made a big issue on the sabbath but I carried on sharing christ with him and he was converted to Jesus Christ as I shared scripture after scripture with him they have become more mainstream now after changes in the churches teachings

Haha...crazy little cultist. I remember each year that Christmas rolled around, my mom always liked to observe that there seemed to be "fewer and fewer lights this year." Like the "governments" were slowly swaying in favor of some communistic ban on Christmas. Let's see, that was about 25 years ago.

How does it feel to live your life in a man-made cult, constantly looking for signs of the end??

But it is limited by the available credit in your credit card.

Fyi, Christmas is pretty big in the Orient too. But you won't find nativity displays. Just like in the West, think "Christmas" and what pops up is Santa Claus and his sleigh pulled by his flying reindeer loaded with toys for tots.

I think you confuse the popularity of Santa Claus Christmas.

By the way, the Bible doesn't teach that Christians observed Christmas nor that Christmas was established as a holiday. And the kicker is there is zero Biblical evidence for a winter birth for Jesus!

The bible doesn't teach that Christians observed wedding anniversaries either, but that doesn't stop the JWs from having anniversary bashes.

The bible teaches that there was cause for great joy at the birth of Jesus. And shortly before him the birth of John the Baptist. The Magi came from far away to find the baby Jesus, give him gifts, and worship him.

As you dubs like to say, there's ample "principle" for celebrating the birth of Jesus, our savior.

And the actual date of his birth, which isn't mentioned in the bible, doesn't matter.

When did wedding anniversaries become a religious celebration?

The birth of Jesus was a cause for a one time celebration. The Magi (short for "magicians") were pagan astrologers who in their astrology noticed a strange and unusual star in a strange place in the sky which motivated them to follow it. These were not worshippers of God nor did they had knowledge of the Old Testament promises.

God made the announcement using his heavenly host who informed humble shepherds who were part of his chosen people rather than the corrupt Jewish religious leadership who knew beforehand that they were on the right track of about when and where the Christ would be born but not exactly.

And the birth of Jesus was never celebrated again - not in heaven, not on earth prior to Jesus' ministry, not by Jesus during his ministry, and not by Christians after Jesus' ministry.

Perhaps a better date should have been chosen which wasn't a hijacked pagan date which incorporated most of the holiday trappings Christmas enjoys today.

And it still leaves you with the problem of using a false date that is wrong chronologically, biblically, and by identity.
