I don't figure this is a thread that will continue on and on...but I want to clarify something. I do not go to any place looking for avatars that promote a holiday of any kind. AND I certainly don't choose them based on any such thing. I merely choose one where I think the kitten/cat is cute. That is the only reason I choose them. Most I have, I have found at sites that just has all kinds of cute cat pictures. so I just want to make it clear, I am not and don't aim to, promote any holiday of any kind. So if you see one and think it is related to any particular day...just remember I do not choose any avatar for that reason at all...Thanks to everyone.

Explain please why you put back an avatar that was already brought to your attention was a halloween image and that you already took down because it is a halloween image?

It looks rather blatant nomi and you can not sit here and say you did not know that particular picture is a halloween picture. The cat is dressed as a freaking jack-o-lantern for cripes sake.

I'd suggest you pick a safe one and stick to it, because this latest event, really came across as being deliberate.

But hey, you're an adult. Pick what you want but I WILL point it out each time you choose an image the celebrates some holiday.

Hey, I said she should keep up the halloween avatar. It showed her blatant disregard for the instructions from her leaders, the gb, in NY.

She apparently wants to promote halloween as she has used it twice so far.

Nomi: we all know that you are going to do exactly what you want to do, and then have some excuse as to why you do it. You are a master at rationalization.

Why did you feel the need to defend yourself about the avatars?

Am I the only one of JWs on this board that wouldn't dream of using an avatar during the same week of Halloween that clearly has a pumpkin on the cat's head?

I'm not saying that you're lying Nomi, but for someone with such a heightened sensitivity as to Halloween images/avatars as you, I'm just not sure what other use carved out pumpkins have at Halloween time..are you?

It's kindof like putting an avatar of mistletoe up and Christmas time and claiming that you just have an affinity for pretty Phoradendrons..

Do you really think anyone gives it a second thought when you post that endless procession of homeless felines as your avatar?

The thought didn't cross my mind that you might be advocating a worldly holiday. I also think cats are adorable and cute wearing hats.

These people who have a problem with it must lead very dull lives to pick on someone over something so trivial.

They don't own the color orange, and they surely don't own pumpkins. In God's Kingdom, we will have the freedom to carve pumpkins for whatever reason we want, such as lighting for an evening outside BBQ, or whatever our heart's desire. Think of all the hats we can make, and none of what we do will reflect any of the old system's ways. The ways of this system might not even come to mind.

Will you all join the lollipop guild too?

Shame on you for not bringing to nomi's attention that she had a halloween avatar. You know she is elderly and not thinking too clearly. Tsk, tsk!

According to what you claim you believe, you have a lot of work to do or you won't know if the old system comes to mind.

I never think of holidays, when I choose my avatars. If it happens I have one that seems close to one, that is a mere coincidence. Holidays mean nothing to me. I recall one time years ago, a sister made a comment about me wearing red, white, and blue. I just happened to match the colors in an outfit I liked. Had nothing whatsoever to do with patriotism. Christians are not supposed to be fanatic, unfortunately seems some tend that way tho, sometimes. We are supposed to use a balanced attitude about everything...that is what I try to do. I am not trying to judge what anyone else does, and I don't appreciate when some here try to make something out of nothing...which is what this is about avatars. I love cats, and I think they are cute and funny...holidays have absolutely nothing to do with any of them.

I do not like poeple second-guessing everything I do...especially when they are wrong. I know what to do and not to do...I do not need someone to tell me, every move to make. As for rationalizing...I have no need to...I try to always tell what I know to be true.

People have to second guess because you are obviously deceptive.

If the halloween avatar meant nothing, why did you take it down?

I take one down nearly every time I come here...just like I did today...means nothing other than I like to change them often.

You learned about 'change them often' from the GB because when it comes to their doctrines, they change them often too.

;)
