K2 is fake pot and it's legal. Stores that sell it can't keep it on the shelves. It is imported from China and Korea.

K2 is a blend of herbs and spices (crushed POTPOURRI) sprayed with a synthetic compound similar to THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) . The teenagers use it in wrappers to make joints, or smoked it in pipes.

K2 is stronger and more dangerous than marijuana.

It's new on the market and teenagers think they have found a new legal high that is a substitute for marijuana. But if it is a blend of potpourri and synthetic THC it's probably toxic. So talk to your kids, they probably don't know.

I thought you were referring to the mountain until I read the your post.

I would venture that both K2's are very unhealthy for a person.

K2 mountian has a 27 percent mortality rate. I hope they didn't name this new herb after it. Synthetic THC and potpourri sounds toxic. Anything could be in the crushed potpourri mix and synthetic THC could be many times stronger than organic THC. Kids jump first look later. I hope the FDA keeps an eye on this one.

K2 is a brand name for incense which contains the chemical JWH-018, a synthetic cannabinoid that is an agonist of CB1 and CB2 receptors, causing the same euphoria as THC found in natural marijuana plants. The effect can last up to 12 hours depending on the amount consumed. There are no addictive qualities noted, and the patient does not suffer from withdrawal symptoms. It is difficult to test for, if you are not specifically looking for the compound. This substance has been available since 1995.

Patients, specifically young people who are experimenting with the drug, are often seen for anxiety secondary to ingestion. They become scared of the effects on perception, and suffer from increased heart rate, increased blood pressure and agitation natural to a neural sympathetic response. There are no permanent effects.

The question as to the other ingredients in the product that can become harmful is legitimate. The products bags themselves have warning labels indicating NOT for human consumption.

Why risk it? Just move to California in November.

It's too early for the FDA to know exactly what the short term and long term effects there will be. For example, how will it effect children with emotional problems, such as depression or ADHD? Could it cause some sort of psychological breakdown? The FDA doesn't know how the chemical JWH-018 (synthetic cannabinoid that is an agonist of CB1 and CB2) will effect a person until it has been out on the streets and used for a while. I think it is dangrous.

The real stuff is organic and has to be better for you than the synthetic stuff. However, I hope it comes with a label warning because doctors warn of side effects of marijuana for children with behaviour problems such as depression, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. Marijuana can cause perminate damage, to these individuals, such as panic disorders and increased aggression. There is a price for everything.

I was just talking to a therapist the other day and he said he has seen some adolescents have trouble with marijuana. I didn't know, each case is different. I don't believe tobacco and nicotine are much more dangerous than marijuana. But because it alters your perception by just a few puffs and it still is illegal, I will pass. I guess I will continue to get high on life.:o)

This is just a joke. What about tobacco? Isn't that harmful?

Plus I've always wondered about second-hand smoke. We are so concerned about it in regards to tobacco, but what about incense? Incense creates smoke as well.

The bottom line is that incense has always been considered a "mood altering" substance as well. Who knows what chemicals are used to make incense sticks?

Interestingly, I think lawmakers are getting smart and framing ordinances that cover unknown or upcoming substances if they create a certain effect.

In other words, if the cops catch you having way too much fun, they probably have reasonable cause to arrest you!:>

I don't like marijuana so I have no interest in exploring the effects of K2.

Wow, please do research before making claims like marijuana is more dangerous than cigarettes. If you do the research it will surprise you. Marijuana is one of the safest drugs in the world. Its completely all natural, unlike cigarettes. Marijuana actually has many positive effects. It slows the growth of tumors, helps with add and adhd, and there are hundreds of other studies with positive results. I suggest you watch a documentary called The Union, it will teach you a lot of stuff about marijuana, including why its actually illegal.

I while ago, I was at party I was passed a pipe with K2 in it. I took puffs got high and thaught not bad. I did not feel depressed nor did I feel sick in any way. The reason why I'm posting this because most people on this subject refer to other people taking it and flipping out. I'm not in any way a pot head nor wish to be. I've smoked grass at times and still don't see any reason why it shouldn't be leagle. If you drink too much that is harmful. I on ther other don't drink, but I don't condem it.

Thanks for sharing that with us. I know a few young men who tried it. It worries me to hear young people experimenting with things like this. It was named after the highest mountain in China with a high fatality rate. It is also made in China. It is not organic like marajuana which is more tolerable for the body to handle. K2 is basicly potpourri mix of wild nuts and berries soaked in a very high level of synthetic THC. A Ph.D physisian told me there is a percentage that have a violent reaction to it. It's best to stick to what is safe.

Do you think legalizing marijuana or privatizing sales of distilled spirits would help the economy?
