Luke 22:19-20:

And He took bread, gave thanks, broke it, gave it to them, and said,“This is My body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”
In the same way He also took the cup after supper and said,“This cup is the new covenant [established by] My blood; it is shed for you.

It is fitting that those who bear witness to Jesus should view the Memorial of his death as a high point in their year.

Last year, 13,147,201 came together to celebrate the Memorial, 858,284 more than in 1994. What a multitude!

Picture the rejoicing in the 78,620 congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses as unusually large numbers flocked into their Kingdom Halls for the celebration.

You are right Maravilla ..it was for us to remember what Jesus went through..He said keep doing this in remembrance of me,..

There was no unbeliever with them in the room, only a traitor.

And as scripture states ..it was of SHARING

" The cup that we drink Is it not a SHARING in the blood of Christ"

" Also the loaf, is it not a sharing in the BODY of Christ."

We have been called into a SHARING with Christ ..and we are commanded to do it in remembrance of him.

Celebrating does not mean rejoicing. What? You can't even read a dictionary now?

Someone else who can't read a dictionary.

The core meaning of "celebrate" actually means to publicise - to make well-known.

This time you and UNchined should try putting your reading glasses on:

You think that having large numbers of people taking an interest in Jesus is not a cause to rejoice?

It doesn't.

You can celebrate without rejoicing and rejoice without celebrating.

UNchained, does it make you rejoice that people remember Jesus at the Lord's Supper or not?

I am guessing you never get anyone curious about the Lord's Supper being that you're so keen to criticise the genuine efforts of others.

. Garth.. does it not occur to you that the Christian churches..are well aware of The Lords..Supper as you refer to it..
If..let's say ..you were having a family reunion... Would you invite stangers to it??? If not.. well ..why do you invite..what you would call..non believers to the memorial???

scripture tells us god has two sorts of sons.

An obedient son or a disobedient son.

The reason people fight over denominations , is because one lot see the other as being 'disobedient' to God in one area ..and vice a versa..

but the whole purpose of following Christ, is about the fact that Jesus is ' bringing many sons to glory'
