Maybe MM now will claim that she is on another one of her lying, hypocritical, do gooder missions to the Phillipines.

I imagine soon there will be a youtube video showing how JWs are helping their own people get over the tragedy.

Of course we all know what the Phillipino jw's will do. They will immediately rebuild their kingdum hall, walk past anyone who is not a jw who might need help, and will help their own brothers and sisters first. Then will help their own rebuild their houses and when they finally get done taking care of their own then if they have anything left over they may help non jw's and if they do they will boast about it everywhere while trashing all the other charities that are helping there, esp. the red cross, the jw's hate the red cross.

This is an inaccurate portrayal of Jehovah's witnesses.

We don't hate the Red Cross. The Red Cross hates Jehovah's Witnesses, because we are just about finished with helping people with food, water and needed supplies and the help to rebuild their shattered lives, by about the time the Red Cross arrives on the scene.

I just really hope the brothers are fine. My wife and i were discussing this last night at length.

Who is in charge of the Phillipines branch?. What zone?.

I am going to find out. I imagine that the brothers from Malaysia, Japan and Thailand are really on top of this.

Considering there are normally relatively few JW casualties to help compared to the rest of the population, it would be amazing if the Red cross had got to helping everybody before the JWs.

Oddly enough, there is nothing on the JW Media site bragging about how the JWs were the "first ones" to arrive in the disaster area who are directing the work of all of the other late comers.

I did, however, hear on the news that the US has sent C-130 cargo planes filled with supplies to the island hardest hit, and they are requesting that cash donations be sent to the (oops) CATHOLIC disaster relief agencies who are (WHAT?) already there and helping.

Could it be that the JWs won't show at all simply because Tacloban doesn't have a Kingdom Hall, branch office or JW residents?

Usually by now there would be much boasting and bragging, but the JW Media site has absolutely nothing that I could find.

I remember the constant trashing of the Red Cross.
Never any mention of their charitable acts, or their aid.
Nope all we ever heard was how the Red Cross gave out cigarettes, so therefore are an arm of Satan.

Of coursing, when it come to TAKING from the arm of Satan, that is A-OK with Jehovah's Witnesses.

It is a very difficult territory to get to.

I'm sure the brothers are mobilizing. the situation is still very fluid.

But, but...JWs constantly claim that JWs are FIRST on the scene and that THEY end up directing any other rescue groups? What happened this time? Not enough JWs in the affected areas for them to bother with their "first on the scene" rescue efforts?

Yes, the brothers are quite thorough in making sure that the friends are evacuated from low lying danger zones beforehand, as they had ample warning of this approaching typhoon.

The Regional disaster preparedness policies that have been emplaced for some time now, keep the casualties of the friends very low. And then through the regional disaster relief and the regional building committees, there is a very quick response time to get the homes and Kingdom Halls of the friends rebuilt/repaired and back in proper order.

The people in the Philippines are in a terrible situation. One lady was heard crying for help ... help, help, she kept crying -- we will die soon unless we get help! you would think with all the "negotiations" the nations are going through -- all their meetings -- figuring out what to do about the nuclear weapons and so forth, and all their riches, bailing banks out, trying to fix the vets who are crippled, needing help, on drugs, holding up places now after they get out of the military, the President knowing other countries do a better job with their vets and as much admitted so, yet they all fight to kill because they can't get along with each other -- they'd be able to pick up all those people in the Philippines and transport them to a safer place.:-)

Reviewing the stats about the Haitian disaster in 2010, news reports had it that much of the help did more harm than good.

But what about everybody else? JWs always claim that THEY help EVERYBODY and that they are the FIRST ones to do so. Are you saying that they simply got the JWs out of the way and now they don't care about anybody else? Are you saying that JWs LIED when they claimed that they helped EVERYBODY?
