Very sad to read and realize that this religion could have added to my mothers depression.

What is sad is that people blame others for their own mistakes and shortcomings or those of their families.

Jehovah's witnesses only teach the requirements of Jehovah
God's word the Bible as taught by Jesus. It is your brain and your heart that will be moved by the Scriptures to either obey or not.

who is to blame for the false predictions of JW, people or those that dished this out as food from God at the proper time. Be honest, you can't claim that victims are not victims because they blame the perpetrators, people get on with their lives but that does not take away the blame of those that are responsible for damgage they have caused, this is why the WT goes to coart themselves when they have been damaged or injustice, legal rights and so on.

When it doesn't concern you then your don't care.

What is sad is that Jehovah's witnesses have been predicting the end now for over 130 years. Anyone living in that kind of fear of Armageddon coming and that they are not worthy of being saved has to take its toll on them. Religions that teach that stuff, are considered doomsday cults. Watch movies like the Doomsday Preppers and see what stress those people live under.

Jehovah's witnesses teach the requirements of the GB aka F&DS. We are to obey Jehovah and Jesus, not man made rules. I chose to obey those rules and not the ones the GB aka F&DS. If you cant see the difference in man made rules and the Lords rules, then you need to read the bible more often. John 14:21

The individual conscience is a persons guide to guilt or innocence, evidently the decisions you made for your life have caused you to become a victim of guilt.

Isaiah 48:17,18

p.s. About miscalculated predictions of Jehovah's witnesses, certain people did misinterpret stated prophecy to their own understanding, just as the apostles and early Christians did, we are all imperfect.
That fact does not alter the prophecy, it will happen.

The end of this world is very close in time, and anyone who wants to remain alive, must be an active publisher of the good news that God's Kingdom is going to stop all ungodliness on this earth. 2Peter 3:7

I have no guilt, I am a true Christian now who gives her life to the Lord and not to an organization. Read the bible to see once one Jehovah and Jesus would approve of. When I was baptized, I was baptized into the name of The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, both as a JW and as a Baptist. I was not baptized into the organization of JWs as you probably were, nor was I baptized into the religion of Baptist.

The GB aka F&DS called Harold Camping a false prophet in the Feb 2012 Watchtower for setting dates of Armageddon, when they had done the very same thing. If they miscalculate, why couldn't Harold Camping miscalculate as well? Why call him a false prophet when he did the exact same thing they have done now for 130 and more? Of course it does not alter the prophecy, but it will happen in Gods time, not the GB aka F&DS or any other false prophet who wishes to take a guess at it.
The Lord wants everyone to be saved, not just a few who call themselves JW's.
2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Yes, I do believe the end is close, everything about our world today is pointing to it. God is being removed from everything and religions are turning away from God and to themselves. We are living in a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah. Belonging to any religion or organization will not save us, but giving our life to the Lord is what will. Telling others of what is to come, and then what is to come after that is what we are to do. We are not to tell them to come to a religion, or organization, but to come to Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 3:18
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Cute little post
Problem is it does not address what these folks believed which was taught by jw concerning the end of the world

I wonder why do jw avoid the fact that their leadership gets involved in DATES

certain people did misinterpret stated prophecy to their own understanding

This is not what the GB says

They say they were responsible for the dates that they have put forth from the early days up to their most recent one for 2000

.
. Jehovah witnesses don't teach.. they make statements ..point blank and the members either Obey ..believe .. OR they are deemed to lack spirituality.. not doing enough.. or obviously have sins they are hiding.. As far as teaching Jehovah's requirement.. When are you taught that you are to show love for your neighbor??? A sentence in passing??.. on to get out there and waste your life on.. not at homes and not interested people.. Seems like you could find something that is a bit more productive to do with the time allotted you.. But no..your trained to be a wt salesman..and you damn well better tow the line... Some day..hopefully you'll wake up and realize that you frittered your life away and cow towing to men ...not GOD..men. Like in... YOU MUST OBEY GOD AS RULER>>RATHER THEN MEN... hello.. this scripture is never applied to themselves... As they...think they are GOD.

Why don't you look at the fiercesome earth burning up with fire or the universe imploding? There's enough badness going around while the earth is still here that gives sorrow, and death is always hanging around.

My mother was raised in this religion. She has regular pioneered for several decades and has, as the term goes,'aided many into the truth.' Her faith was unshakeable and she has always been one of the stronger sisters or pillars in the congregation that people went to.

So it was very weird to see her fall into such depression. She had back surgery and knee replacement surgery which has slowed her down, but I could not figure how someone who all her life witnessed about the hope she was taught, could fall into deep depression.

I was at a loss at what to say to comfort her because you know "Jehovah's people are the happiest on Earth" as the WT claims. I kept telling her to draw on her faith and her hope.

But I wonder if living in "this system" much longer than she expected due to the false prophecies from the FDS is what is bringing her down. I never thought I would hear her say she wanted to die! But this is exactly what she felt.

I wonder how many other JWs are suffering from dashed expectations. Most of the older JWs never expected to grow old in "this system of things." They expected "the end" to arrive before the infamous 1914 generation died. Now the goal posts have been moved much further out and those JWs who thought they were near the finish line now learn they have run a lot further.

Its truly sad what is happening to these folks. Proverbs 13:12 Expectations postponed is making the heart sick."

the scriptures say to keep in expection of Christ, many want the end not just because they want everything for themselves, but because they want to see an end to wickedness, cruelty, injustices, starvation, sickeness, diseases and other things that this wicked system offers.

So to these ones it is seeking the kingdom and all its righteousness to bring an end to the atrocities on a grand scale.

Its about people, Christ died for the whole of mankind, in some lands people have never heard of Christ and the Kingdom, not everyone will hear of the good news about Christ if that was to happen, then no one would survive the world would just go on and on into more wickedness and destruction.

Unless those days are cut short no man would survive.

Matt 24:22 "Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

(Habakkuk 1:2; Zephaniah 1:7, 14-18) Zephaniah wrote:“'Keep yourselves in expectation of me,' is the utterance of Jehovah.

Sounds good if you didn't know the scriptures that say ' now is the day of salvation, now is the day to be saved'

Jesus has taken our sicknesses upon him Isaiah 53 [4]

We are promised in seeking the kingdom and his righteousness [ in the here and now] that he will supply our needs.

Don't you believe him.?

yes that applies to all those that have heard the good news, they have a choice, but as said not everyone will hear about the Christ its impossible as the scriptures say if those days were not cut short.

Its not just about YOU and ME its about everyone. Your just wrapped up in your personal faith alone, which we are told to care for and progress, but God is a God of mercy, love and he Son did not just die for a select few that have been priveleged to hear the good news, God judges people by their heart condition, those that have been priveleged to hear the word and put faith in it have a work to do and that involves spreading that faith and hope to others, nations but not all individuals, unless your telling me when the end comes because those day will be cut short, that the little family man in the amazon is going to be wiped out because he didn't know Gods name or here about the Christ, people will be judged by their heart condition, unless you think that Jehovah is such a tyrant that because someone did not hear about him or the Christ through no fault of their own will be destroyed.

Scripture says you are wrong

Romans 10:18

But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: "Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world."

But what has happened is, that in every place the word of God has traveled, oppositions and persecutions have occurred.

Muslims killed and destroyed the Christian nestorian churches in the east

churches were destroyed in China...Japan crucified any Christians prior to being forced to open its nation..

this is a hidden history that many are unaware of...but scripture tells us above that Christs words have gone to the ends of the world

That they don't know them today , is because their forefathers persecuted and killed Christ [ in his people] and chose another path for their children

Every time JWs speak about the future they get it wrong. It is not just the end of the world they constantly get wrong but anything where they guess what is going to happen on the world stage. Why would anyone in their right mind put any faith in such an organisation.
