Ignoring Paul’s advice to use only “a little wine,” some Christians have got into a pattern of turning to heavy drinking to ‘help them relax.’
This proves that Jehovah's Witnesses are counselled AGAINST heavy drinking. Of course there will always be the occasional one who does. But the expression "some Christians have" tells us NOTHING about the relative numbers. It is just an expression used to introduce the counsel AGAINST heavy drinking.

People should go and meet Jehovah's Witnesses. You would have a very difficult task to find a heavy drinker among them.

This rather pathetic method of slandering Jehovah's Witnesses belongs more in the playground than among adults.

If you want to learn about Jesus then why go to men? You should go to the Bible.

You don't need to speak for EVERY JW in the world now do you? Anyone who spends time among Jehovah's Witnesses will see that they are quite modest.

LOL!
What propaganda.
Most people are aware that most JWs drink and drink hard, that they are on many meds to go along with that.
Your Watchtower Propaganda in nothing but lies gareth, they may fool you, but nobody except a brainwashed robot like you, buys it.

I know in my area the JWs target recent immigrants from eastern Europe, who are obviously isolated and lonely.
Many of those continue to smoke too.
I guess like carrying hand guns meant to kill, JWs are looking the other way with smoking to lure any person with a pulse they can recruit.

Aren't you the idiot who keeps posting links to Watchtower Society books that were written by men who had this to say about their publications?...

*** re chap. 2 p. 9 The Grand Theme of the Bible ***

It is not claimed that the explanations in this publication are infallible.

*** jv chap. 28 p. 626 Testing and Sifting From Within ***

Jehovah’s Witnesses today recognize the Watchtower magazine and kindred publications to be the ones used by the faithful and discreet slave to dispense spiritual food. They do not claim that this slave class is infallible...

LOL, GARETH, you are a BIG hoot! I HAVE met a few JW's that were NOT "quite modest", and I have met a few JW's that drink quite heavily too.
So, are YOU going to speak for ALL the JW's in the world? OH YOU CAN'T!!! You are not a JW, right???

And I have met "Born Again Christians" who drink, take drugs and have random sex at the weekends. Shall I infer that ALL people claiming to be "Born Again Christians" are like this?

Obviously that would be a NONSENSE argument just like yours is.

I invite READERS to judge Jehovah's Witnesses for themselves. They are not perfect but by and large they are modest. They really DO strive to live according to Bible standards - much more so than the AVERAGE church goer.

A "heavy drinker" and one who on occasion drinks "heavily" are two different things.

The former is usually called an "alcoholic" and the latter a "binge" drinker.

The former usually drinks heavily in secret at home. The latter drinks heavily in company with friends, mostly at weekends.

Why would you compare Jehovah's Witnesses with members of Babbleonthegrape?

Especially when the Watchtower Society makes the following claims about Jehovah's Witnesses:

*** km 7/95 p. 3 par. 3 Be Upbuilding ***

We can express our appreciation for the chaste conduct practiced by those in Jehovah’s clean organization.

*** km 4/92 p. 4 par. 10 Keep Spiritually Strong, Stay Clean for Jehovah’s Service ***

New ones often judge the truth, as well as Jehovah’s organization, by what they see in us. We want to make sure that what they see encourages them to take their place in Jehovah’s clean organization.

*** w97 8/1 p. 11 par. 8 Serving Loyally With Jehovah’s Organization ***

God’s earthly organization today is far superior to the Jewish system with its temple. Granted, it is not perfect; that is why adjustments are made at times. But neither is it riddled with corruption, nor is Jehovah God about to replace it.
__________

But wait, there's more than what meets the eye:

*** w94 5/1 p. 30 Sustained by the God Who Cannot Lie ***

One morning just after the family had returned from one of their rural trips, we received an unexpected visitor. The caller was an Aborigine, who asked:“What do I gotta do to come back?” At first we were puzzled. Then Arthur recognized him as a man who many years previously was disfellowshipped from the Christian congregation for drunkenness.

You should really ask yourself this question. It is you who believe anything a few men in Brooklyn say as Gods truth.

Also who said anything in there about going to men, I said church. In OUR church we use only the bible to learn about God, we do not use Watchtowers or other literature written by men.

Prove that they live according to the Bible standards much more than the AVERAGE church goer. And please dont ignore this, just prove what you said.

Show me where I am being mean and "hypocritical" to anyone.

No, Jehovah's witnesses do not have it all right. Some things yes, but not all things. Give your worship to Jehovah and Jesus, not to the GB aka F&DS or the organization.

It was wonderful and I enjoyed it so much. Our church is so full of love and it is growing so fast. We had someone to come forward yesterday and give their life to Jesus. We also had the Lords Supper last night and to do as Jesus directed us to do is just a very moving experience for me. I hope you had a blessed say as well and enjoyed being with your brothers and sisters.:)

He can't.

However, I see you choose to ignore the narrow range of responses offered by the instigator of this poll.

By all means, start another poll on the same subject and 'widen out' the choices.
