Is it true that the 'Daily Text' will no longer be discussed during meetings for Field Service?

You should check the JWN site, UNchained, as that item is discussed by one of their posters.

I checked JWN just now, UNchained, and this has been confirmed. Any JW on this forum who actually attends JW services will also be able to confirm this.

Discussion of the Daily Text used to be 'optional' but encouraged during meetings for Field Service.

It was a fundamental feature of Saturday morning meetings for Field Service when I was a JW.

On weekdays, brothers who were aspiring to be 'appointed' as elders and ministerial servants would take an extra amount of time researching the Watchtower article that the Daily Text was centered around and hope that they would be the first 'brother' to show up at the hall so they could conduct and impress all participants with their 'accurate knowledge' during the meeting.

It is possible that the Society has eliminated the Daily Text discussion so that time in Field Service will be more productive, knocking on more doors.

Nice job on the over - dramatization.

They're getting rid of it so meetings for field service are actually helpful in the field ministry. Have YOU ever seen a brother try to make a text on marital fidelity fit the field ministry? Now the organization says, no more, it needs to be helpful. Good riddance, I say.

Here is a blog site that used to publish the daily text , but was threatened with legal action from the watchtower.

It is clearly an apostate anti-JW site. It is using WT material to encourage LOYAL Jehovah's Witnesses to the site so they can promote their anti-JW propaganda.

They are a wolf in sheeps clothing.

They use the reputation of WT published material to lure decent Christians into apostasy.

I think they are very fortunate the WTS was kind enough to ask them very politely to withdraw the copy-righted material.

It is interesting how people choose their words to "spin" a situation.

If someone has been hurt by another then seeking legal restitution is never referred to as a "threat"... unless you want to hurt that person yourself.

I don't know Brainiac.. I would have to investigate the site more closely to find out. I googled 'daily text' and went on that site

I was just shocked that they were threatened with a law suit on copy right laws for material I thought was given out to be freely shared.

However thinking about it, I suspect there is money involved . If something is given out free to Gods people online, it would have made a dent in the pocket of the WTS machinery.

So I would just like to encourage brothers of Christ

Isaiah 55 [1] "Hey there all you thirsty ones , Come to the water . And the ones that have no money come! come , buy and eat. Yes come buy wine and milk even without money and without price."

Gods Word then asks the question

"Why do people keep paying out money for what is not bread and your toil for what results in no satisfaction .

Listen intently to me..... and I will conclude with you people an indefinately lasting covenant..."

So thats Gods promise and he puts no copy rights on his WORD.

Just curious, Stan, but personally how many converts have you made as a result of your door to door evangelizing activity?
