The TRUTH is that it is not at all important WHO or WHAT I am. Only believe what can be proved, not what people tell you they are or what anyone else is.
You just told the "readers" you so often address NOT to listen to you or believe anything you write.

Thanks!

Not without proof.

That is why I (unlike you) post documentary evidence.

Actually it is other people who seek to turn true Christianity into "legalism".
True Christianity simply follows the rules and organizational instructions given in the Bible.
Jehovah's Witnesses simply follow the Bible in this. If you call that "legalism" that's Bible Christianity you are referring to.
Either you are ignorant of what the JWs believe, or you are being deceptive, Aneirin/Gareth. JWs believe their GB's current interpretation of Scripture. If GB members die and are replaced by men whose interpretation of Scripture is different, then the old view is replaced by the new GB member's interpretation. Which all JWs are now required to accept or be excommunicated.

Since you choose not to become a JW, Aneirin/Gareth, your reasons for promoting JWism are suspect.

I don't see you posting documentary evidence. I see you post a bunch of links to watchtower publications, which ARE NOT documentary evidence.

Watchtower publications are documentary evidence of what Jehovah's Witnesses teach and believe.

That is frequently misrepresented on this forum.

READERS Do not believe what people tell you about Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs without CHECKING what they believe from their own literature.

HOWEVER

Beware of quotes 'snippets' because some of them are just made up and they are usually out of context and chosed to give a misleading understanding:

Rather than listen to out-of-context quotes coloured with ridicule and prejudice, people can judge for themselves the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses by reading WHOLE PUBLICATIONS and so getting the proper context of the statements.

Hardly. There are no citations, no works cited. When they are cited, like in say, the evolution book, the references are misquoted, partially quoted, or down right twisted to make it appear the works cited is agreeing with the wtb&ts insane beliefs.

Sorry bud, wtb&ts books and brochures do not qualify as any kind of authority.

Watchtowers are what the GB tell you to believe. Many of them contain lies against the bible, but you still believe.

You will have to admit that the "documented evidence" of what the GB teaches and would have you believe.....undergoes many changes, is revised, flip-flops and often goes back to original "documented evidence" they started with....so that the shelf life of these "documented" teachings is ridiculously short and then they change again.

Such very flimsy "documented evidence" of ANY of their teachings being considered as "truth"....is not very good advertisement to anyone that is expecting "truth" from the WTS.

With the GB's penchant for teaching and dispensing Theocratic Warfare with the intent of deceiving their readers.....how can ANYONE trust ANYTHING these men are currently teaching?

If you obtained any WTS books TODAY declaring their latest "bible truths"....what is the guarantee that in a few short years, these books would not be considered as obsolete and need NEW books to replace them?

Jehovah's Witnesses have always advertised the fact that they are Bible students and, as such, their understanding of the Bible improves over time.

They recognise that they are human and don't have everything right.

The churches could learn a lot from them.

If your religion teaches Jesus is God, hell fire, immortality of soul, celebrates Christmas, etc, then no! I think that covers 95% of alleged Christian religions.

In order to change your life you need to study the WHOLE Bible. You can not build an accurate understanding based on just two books of the Bible.
Particularly not Books written by Paul. You need to study the Hebrew scriptures in detail to fully understand the Greek Scriptures without making the howling errors the churches have made.
You misunderstand.

I personally studied the whole Bible, mostly the Hebrew Scriptures, for thirty-five years as a Jehovah's Witness. In addition, as Theocratic Ministry School overseer, I was diligent in studying the assigned weekly Bible reading and ensuring the School understood the main points and how they could be personally applied. A detailed congregation study of "All Scripture is Inspired of God and Beneficial," particularly the section on the Hebrew Scriptures, was likewise of great benefit to all.

You would have been in diapers at the time Aneirin.

So in saying I would really like to study the Bible books of Romans and Galatians with a Jehovah's Witness, that would be mostly for their benefit.

If they have the same grounding as I had in the Hebrew Scriptures, then they are ready for studying Romans and Galatians, two books of the Bible that are life changing!

If I was to ask you to summarize the highlights of what Romans and Galatians teaches us, what would you say in just a paragraph or two?

Please share with us the precious gems you found therein! Don't hold back now!

Presumably, you've actually read and studied Watchtower literature, Aneirin/Gareth. Then you know the JW interpretation of Scripture, and according to their theology one must join the JW church and be baptized as a JW. The fact that you've done neither is testimony that you don't even believe in the religion you so frequently promote.

Then they shouldn't call themselves "the truth" and punish those who disagree with the "current truth".
