I didn't see anywhere in either article that he is an ex-JW. The article, and his father, say he is a former JW minister.

The father said "He said his son had been a Jehovah's Witness minister for many years and did not believe in violence."

If he is an ex-JW, when did he become an ex-JW? after he was charged with a crime?

crimes against God are systematicly commited by all people on thhis earth, and ex or JW is nothing spezila to point against his/her belonging in past or now to this organization
you are guys just sick narrow minded people blaiming each other but not looking at own mirror who we all of us are.Psalm 51;1-4....why boasted thou thself in miscgief,o mighty man? the goodness of God endureth forever, the tounge deviseth mischiefs;like sharp rasor, working deceitfuly.Thou LOVEST EVIL MORE THAN GOOD;AND KYING RATHER TO SPEAK RIGHTEUUSNESS.
V4. THOU LOVEST ALL DEVOURING WORDS,O THOU DECEITFUL TONGUE
instead of making this Forum discussions about beauty of God and exposing errors of our beloved earthly organization most of you are just simple idol gossipers and haters of exJW or JW..shame shame shame

Stand you must have reached low into the gutter for this one.
Just as I defended the org. with the armenian case, this has nothing to do with the fact that he is an ex JW.
And the armenian case had nothing to do with the fact that he was a current JW.
You reveal your petty nature.

Are you kidding Topsy??
What has this case got to do with any others? The guy was a convicted pedophile, not suspected, not just accused. No twist in that story at all. Under no circumstances should he have been allowed to go to the hall. I happen to agree with HW's post.
This has nothing to do with someone saying that an ex JW murdered because he was an ex.that is absurd.
or..anything to do with the armenian JW who killed because he was JW. Equally absurd. Of course the JWs would not condon such a thing. Go there and read what I wrote.
BTW, I don't see ALL the threads, I am sure there are plenty 'on both sides' that I do not see.

You hate to see anyone get murdered. But you also have to realize the long term affect of being involved with a high control group and what that can do to the mind

Cults attract the mentally/emotionally disturbed (just look at the JWs who post here), the fact Jehovah's Witnesses are constantly in the headlines with grizzly, horrific crimes is no shock.

Topsy is paranoidal, every post menshen phedofile or molestations from WTBS JW Topsy right very minute is on those topics defended WTBSJW

phedofilia or molestations is not organization foult! only foult of depraved human mind if JW,CATOLIC,ADVENTIST OR ATHEIST
mostly this type of accusers are in west countries and people are looking for money from suing possible mostly innocent organizations or churches....money money is a source of all evils
single person phedofilia or child molestations is single criminal act not criminal act whole groups or members
I experience this very bad observing small bad girls or boys accusing adults of something not existing at all, even adult man or women have to stay away from giving hand to some child trained by mother against others.I do,nt defend WTBS JW but I love the truth, not spit against general population members of whole Society or churches
laws of churches should be tough, just any suspicious accusers man, mother, child sholud be separated from elder strange man or women regardles who they are b/s
Today croocked west democracy laws give absolute rights to gays and divorces, fornicators, blaspheme rs but strickly control cry of little child belivieng him/her at once and taking actions against possible innocent people..it is just ditestible to hear this or to see this..this is sign of end..depravation of morality, gay parades and all kind of scoofing and mocking God-this is main sign how this earth is completly deadly sick before eyes of God

believe me i am past 33 years Jw and from 2007 I am not because contradicted teachings of WTBSJW from Bible..Bible is not before organization JW man made doctrines and man own laws=double standard is like they speak with two toungs
but I never experienced that any single member of JW organization is high controled group,if you do,nt want to!! nobody is able to do anything with your mind
just you have your own freedom and free will to be free in your mind, justyfy your own spirtual doubts inside of your mind and just go away from this organization...nobody tie your neck holding crying baby-you are not baby, only God is able to make your mind straight but you and everybody have free own choice,,,believ me I am person from overseas many years of spezialpiniering and being evry second week among different families homes of JW,mostly they are very nice and sweet but some of them are idiots and imbecils
we just have to tell THE TRUTH.not to bitter of own wrong decissions not blaiming himself only organizations or churches
From my biblical point HELL WITH THEM AND SATANIC DOCTRINES TEACHINGS BLASPHEMING OUR SWEET SAVIOUR JESUS they are just in the hands os satan TOGETHER with all organize churches and WTBS JW 2 Cor 11;13-15..just run away from those churches and WTBS JW and be free in Christ Mat 11;29 HIS YOKE IS SWEET AND BEAUTIFFUL

I don't understand why they have to say former JW. Why even bring it up!

they don't say former Muslim or former catholic. If he committed the crime while a JW then i can understand as JW are suppose to be exemplary in conduct compared to other faiths.

I agree, Noah. In most cases there isn't a need to mention the person's religious affiliation. And I'm happy that our local newspapers do this. Though we did have a local legal case where the person's JW church membership was mentioned, but only because it had a direct bearing on the legal proceedings. It was a case where the JW wife was suing her JW husband's non-JW mistress. One of the reasons for the suit was because the mistress had reported the husband's activities to the local elders and it cost him his eldership and got him excommunicated. This caused the JW family much unhappiness and mental anguish. So the JW wife was suing the mistress for damages. Now if the wife had sued the mistress for property damage or misuse of funds, the family's religious preference would not have been mentioned. Nevertheless, the husband was an adult and responsible for his own actions, so the wife lost her suit against the mistress.

However, when the clergy or others who hold positions of responsibility in religious organizations commit crimes it does become necessary to mention their religious affiliation.

What a brainwashed idiot.
It is newsworthy that violent criminal after violent criminal have so many ties to this minute cult that only .01 percent of the population are affiliated with.

That is why the cult is mentioned.

Hopefully the public will start to be more informed about the dangers that women and children affiliated with this dangerously crazy, yet tiny cult, are.

Too bad cult members are blind to the glaring fact, that never, ever is there ever a headline about the wonderful, charitable works a Jehovah's Witness does, never.

The lamest they can come up with is saving an already wealthy publishing company money, by building cult halls for free.

Whoopee!!

Katrina relief: Local Jehovah's Witness lends a hand

Jehovah's Witnesses usually invoke an image of men and women walking door-to-door, offering teachings of the Bible.

But there's much different image of the hundreds of Witnesses in Louisiana and Mississippi, rebuilding their "brothers' and sisters' " homes, while also pitching in to help others whose homes are in disrepair.

Since Stacy's relief group set up camp, they have repaired and replaced 465 roofs and served 50,000 meals in the area.

Jehovah’s Witnesses’ relief efforts in Haiti highlight international unity

Santo Domingo- When a woman in Haiti accepted a study of the Bible from one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she may have expected it to improve her life. Little did she know, it would literally save her life.

Reports indicate that this woman’s Bible study teacher literally sacrificed her own life to shield her from the death-dealing debris during the magnitude 7.0 earthquake on January 12th.

After the quake, the student was transported to the branch office of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Santo, near Port-au Prince, Haiti, where acts of compassion and kindness were taking place on an even larger scale.

In cooperation with local authorities and other relief agencies, the Witnesses organized to help care for the immediate needs of their fellow worshippers and other victims in Haiti. At 2:30 am, Thursday, January 14, Witness truck drivers from their branch office here in the Dominican Republic were off to the border with 15,000 pounds of relief supplies. They were some of the first on the scene. They continued to send shipments of 30,000 pounds of food and medicine supplies every few days.
