All my years a a witness I never heard one say them to anyone, It was always Jehovah loves you, or the GB loves you.

The Apostles did not preach by going round saying "Jesus loves you". Even Jesus did not do that.

Jesus WARNED people that he is an exacting master and that failure to follow him would lead to their everlasting destruction. He said that the way to salvation was narrow and few would find it.

Karen, your dishonesty and hypocrisy is mind-boggling! You are actually going to sit there and tell the world that you did not hear anything about Jesus' great love for mankind and the Christian congregation while you were a Witness?

You claim that you went to the Memorial every year and went to all the meetings. It is not possible for anyone to go to all the meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses for 40 years and not have heard thousands of times of Jesus' love for mankind and, in particular, his love for those who follow his commandments and do the work he assigned.

You could not possibly have missed hearing thousands of times of how Jesus Christ is the leader over the true Christian congregation and how he lovingly directs it through the faithful and discreet slave he appointed.

In the weeks leading up to the Memorial, we have many lessons about Jesus Christ and his love, going into great detail about his life and ministry and building up appreciation for his role in Jehovah's purpose. We do a Bible reading preceding the Memorial in which we cover the events leading up to Jesus' death and with comments and points highlighting what he went through out of love for us.

We have a book, "The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" which covers everything there is to learn about Jesus from the Bible, from his birth to his death and beyond, and we have studied it in detail three times, I believe.

I could go on and on, but this suffices to prove that you are (a) the biggest liar ever or (b) a person who did not attend meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses.

You know how much they abhor talking about Jesus but certainly love talking about Satan and how everything is bad!

On this one I'd have to agree with EE. While there is great emphasis focused on Jehovah's love for mankind, there was also emphasis on the sacrifice Jesus made for us, and out of love, not obligation to Jehovah. This is even more pronounced during the Memorial time frame.. so just trying to be objective, but at least in my experience, the love of Jesus is absolutely included in JW worship.

See how much you hate the saying? What is so wrong with telling people that Jesus loves them, especially when the person hates you. What better way to start a conversation with people than to tell them that Jesus loves them? Do you really think that Jesus would tell me to stop telling people that they are loved by Him?

And again we see that EE is lying about me, I never said I didn't hear about Jesus while a witness, I said, I NEVER HEARD ONE SAY, JESUS LOVES YOU.

Actually it seems at least with these JW reps here on topix,is that they talk about Satan, death, and destruction much more then they talk about Jesus!

At least 10 to 1!

So then you do know the WTS/GB will lose their everlasting lift for not following Jesus' commandments. What do you think happens to the followers of the WTS/GB? It seems you don't take Jesus' WARNING to heart. You think that warning pertains to others but the JW's ?

Where is the scriptural authority for judging people on the basis of whether or not they keep repeating the exact phrase, "Jesus loves you"? Is there a book of Karen that I missed?

Karen has a whole set of rules that she has made up, including that saying. She has totally robbed it of any meaning and made it a ritual. I'm sure Jesus cringes at the way she uses it.

Agreed though for me personally, being able to address God by name does add more of an intimacy. I just don't know honestly what the alternative would be. When I was younger and growing up as a baptist, we would just refer to their titles (Lord) so it made it hard sometimes to know if they referred to Jesus or God. Just my own experience.
The primary clincher that did it for me....was when coming out from under the WTS cloud....it was very simply pointed out to me where Jesus himself....when teaching his followers the proper way to pray....addressed the prayer to the "Father" (and to where He lived...in the heavens).....so if it was right and fitting AND in the bible....it convinced me that the fabricated name need not be used at all.

I am now accustomed to addressing prayers to the "Dear Creator of all living things"....and as much as the WTS defenders want to argue the point....that my prayers won't make it to the heavens because I won't use the name they have to use....I am confident that I have covered all the bases. The GB followers are just blowing thick smoke to keep that hideous WTS cloud of gloom perpetuated.

Well, I have rarely heard the term "Jehovah loves you" as a saying amongst the friends or that "The GB loves you".

The brother do consistently assure us in the talks that Jehovah loves his people or worshipers.

Or that that GB prays for you and are concerned for you.

But, i have never heard the witnesses to ever say as a form of practice or custom that "Jehovah loves you" or that "The GB loves you".

That is simply not true.

==========

The most that closely resembles that, is that some have used the saying "Jehovah willing". But, it is not a commandment to say it, nor is it to be used like a magical charm like phrase.
