Are you aware of the various WT quotes that tell JWs to "hate" people?

Yes, "hate"......there are various WT quotes that say that Jehovah's Witnesses should "hate" certain people.......not "hate" the deeds, but to actually "hate" the people.

Watchtower July 15, 1961 pp 420: Oo
"Jesus encouraged his followers to love their enemies, but God’s Word also says to “hate what is bad.” When a person persists in a way of badness after knowing what is right, when the bad becomes so ingrained that it is an inseparable part of his make-up, then in order to hate what is bad a Christian must hate the person with whom the badness is inseparably linked. Indicating that Jesus did not mean for us to love the hardened enemies of Jehovah, David expressed this God-approved attitude:“Do I not hate those who are intensely hating you, O Jehovah, and do I not feel a loathing for those revolting against you? With a complete hatred I do hate them. They have become to me real enemies.”—Matt. 5:44; Amos 5:15; Ps. 139:21, 22."

The Watchtower Society printed this in 1961 and still practices it. It means to hate those who have sinned that are BAPTIZED within the organization. This is PERSONAL OPINION and was not taught by Christ. Psalms 139 was in the OT when God took for Himself a people and called them the Israelites and cleansed His people (even predisposed genetically such as alcoholics and pedophiles) of the disobedient ones by death. That is not practiced in modern times because God organization has not been cleansed yet and Christ. The Israelites were told directly by God to put to death or remove those who disobeyed Him. He destroyed thousands when the Israelites where in the desert. But He has not directly ordered the disfellowshipping of Christians today within the Watchtower because we have not been genetically cleansed and Christ Jesus did not teach this to the first century Christians.

NO!!!!Thats what the Bible teaches....This is what the Watchtower teaches........

WTBTS have made Hate a Religion
If someone formerly was a Jehovah's Witness, "We must hate in the truest sense,
which is to regard with extreme active aversion,
to consider as loathsome, odious, filthy, to detest."
(Watchtower 10/1/52, p.599)

"in order to hate what is bad a Christian must hate the person"
(Watchtower 7/15/1961, p. 420)

Think about someone you were friends with for years and now
must not talk to them because they are not of the same religion.
It may even be your children!

Watchtower 1961 July 15 p.420 A Time and Place for Everything
"in order to hate what is bad a Christian must hate the person with whom the badness is inseparably linked."

Thank you for your response.

Reading the context of those quotes in the articles, I would have to agree with the sense of the word hate, that being a strong aversion and loathing.

Those who leave Jehovah can always come back to him, and some do.

However I must object to the thought that we are taught to hate.

If you reason on it, you can understand why the article says what it does.

We (Jehovah's Witnesses) are taught that those who break away from the faith will damage us spiritually. It makes sense to be repulsed by those who turn their back on Jehovah.

The article describes people who have the sin or badness ingrained, or inseparably linked. What is the chance that someone like that will turn back to Jehovah? So if they will damage us spiritually, then of course we view them as filthy.

Even if we look at it in a narrow-minded "OMG a cult!" point of view it makes sense. I do not think of myself as being in a cult, so I do not think that point of view matters, personally.

I don't expect anyone who is not a JW to accept what I have written.

RIGHT, only a deluded, cult member would believe the garbage you have written.

Like I said earlier, Jehovah's Witnesses are one of the few religions with teaches their members to hate.

Jehovah's Witnesses are a non-Christian, SATANIC cult which produces false prophecies, false doctrines, false scriptures, molested children, and members of the cult hate people who reject their demonic teachings.

For the sake of arguement, let's use your narrow-minded view of hate.

I don't know your family situation, but I will assume you have children.

When you ask you children to take out the garbage, do you "teach" your child to hate the garbage?

Do you "teach" your child to hold the garbage out away from their body, or do you "teach" your child to hug the garbage to their body, perhaps being "bummed out" that they have to throw it away.

Te garbage is not fit for anything but being disposed of. You wouldn't "teach" them to play with it, like throwing eggshells to their friens, or playing with a used bana peel. No, it's garbage, and you "teach" them to throw it away.

You "teach" your child to think the garbage is filthy, to have a loathing for it. Hence, you "teach" your child to hate the garbage.

This does not mean that you "teach" your child to hate in general. The practice is limited to garbage, or anything else that you consider filthy.

The non-Christian, satanic cult of Jehovah's Witnesses teach people to hate other people.

Jehovah's Witnesses do Satan's work on planet Earth.

I don't believe anyone that god created is Garbage thank you very much :-)

I imagine what life would be like if we could all just accept others ways of thinking....not always agree with it but accept it. I accept that you think I am garbage and choose not to define myself as such.

I read an amazing book I got at Chapters/Indigo called "what god wants" and it is basically about what all the different religions of the world preach and how different life would be if we could allow people to feel those feeling and have those beliefs without judging them as bad evil garbage that needs to be done away with.

I do not wish for harm or death to another person, but I can't believe how many JW's state they can't wait for the BIG A to come along and take me and my babies down....Thanks guys.....but I still choose to believe that god created me in his image and therefore i am not garbage :) Love you even if you are a bit of a douche bag.

My main thing is acceptance....why can't I be accepted for my differing opinion of "truth", without so much hate! I accept my parents beliefs as their truth and am not trying to convert them to my way of thinking.....I merely want to be accepted as having a differing opinion and that I still have value to god.

May gods continued blessings be upon you.
