There's this one teen chick who puts on tons of makeup and sexy outfits, then posts pictures of herself on Facebook. she has her photo album set to Public so anyone can see them, and there are tons. If you didn't know she was one of Jehovah's Witnesses you would assume she was one of those "girls gone wild".

What else do young Jehovah's Witnesses do for fun?

Finding examples of Jehovah's Witnesses that do not follow Bible principles will not gain you any advantages when Judgement arrives. God won't spare you because some Jehovah's Witnesses messed up.

Well, speaking from personal experience I myself play video games for fun. As for the others I grew up with in the witness faith; One guy, when outside the kingdom hall, was into heavy metal and hung out with some worldly people who had the same interests.

There was another guy I sometimes hung out with who's father is an elder, we played soccer with a bunch of other witness kids and he was also into videogames.

I remember once I bought Mortal Kombat and my mother made me return it. She found it too violent. Funny thing was that the elder boy had the same game and his father had no problem with it.

Most of the kids I know actually went to worldly places like dancehalls/discotheques for entertainment. This is all from a Dutch point of view, I have no idea if witness kids in other countries have similar ways to handle the witness life.

That reminds me of a story of an old jw friend as a kid. He was very gifted musically. The kid might have been a genious, and was totally into metal. But in his hall, the only non-demonized instrument was the accordian. You do not know hell, I do. It's listening to Twisted Sisters, We're Not Gonna Take It on accordian

A number of the young brothers and sisters in our Circuit like to smoke pot. When they would get together to study the Watchtower, someone would always brings a joint or two. We've had to reprove and even disfellowship one individual, but it still goes on in secret. The parents aren't much help as they often plead ignorance as to their teenager's activity.

So count your blessings if all this girl does is dress up wild.

I was raised in Protestant churches with no Bible education and lots of spaghetti dinners and choir practice.
I wish that I had been raised in a Jehovah's Witness family. I would not have made the mistakes I made when I was young.

That sounds like a very sad childhood, but look on the bright side. You're a jw now, and you can raise your children to be mocked by every kid in school for standing in the hallway, refusing birthday cake, refusing to write about what they did on christmas, easter, etc.

If you're really lucky, and that's a less than average chance, all your kids will grow up to be the same as you. Brainwashed. From what I hear, you have a 37% chance for that.

You might be unlucky and have a child df'd. Then you'll get the joy of shunning them. They will get over it eventually. They may even shun you back. Trust me, that will really suck for you, you can ask my mom.

Of course there is the worst case scenario. Your child might get df'd and because they had no knowledge of how to interact in the real world, no social skills at all, they might commit suicide. That you will have to deal with for every minute of the rest of your life. Good luck

Masterbation WAS A FUN PAST TIME IN MY YOUTH,

AFTER READING "THE YOUNG PEOPLE'S ASK BOOK" ABOUT MASTERBATION IT COMPELED ME TO TRY IT,

SINCE MY JW DAD HID HIS PORNO STASH I HAD NOTHING TO MASTERBATE TO BESIDES THE BASIC CHANNELS ON TV AND SWIMSUIT CATOLOGS,

MY MOTHER FOUND HER CATALOG LOADED WITH DRY SPERM ON IT ONE DAY AND HAD A BROTHER GO OVER THE SUBJECT WITH ME,

I TOLD THE BROTHER:
"WHERE DO YOU THINK I GOT THE IDEA FROM?

HE SAID:"WHERE"

I SAID: "THE YOUNG PEOPLE ASK BOOK"

What??
Sounds like a plant.
Do you realize that Jehovah's Witnesses have the lowest retention rate of any other cult, religion or sect??
That is because the childhood of a JW kids sucks!!!!
Do you know the high rates of teen suicide in the cult?
How about the teen pregnancy or substance abuse rates?
No one who was ever a Jehovah's Witness kid would wish it on their worst enemy.

this is an interesting question, because it comes back to parental responsinility

If you are going to withdraw from bad association and practices, then that means you must put something else in its place...good association and practices

So there are lots of things a family can do for fun

Singing and dancinf and playing the musical instruments, praising Jah..are all commands of God, to be used in the enjoyment with him and families.

Then there is camping and enjoyment and praise seen in all his creation..Then there are games and loving each other in warm comradeship...So yes when Jehovah God comes into our life he comes with joy.

So even if you are disfellowshipped due to a discipline, doesn't mean Jehovah leaves you...He only leaves you if you leave him.

Are you serious?
Were you a JW kid?
I doubt it.
With all the constant discussion of inappropriate sexual material, and no outlet for fun, JW teens often turn to dangerous sexual practices, and alcohol and drug abuse, nevermind the high suicide rates among Jehovah's Witness teens.
Easier to just stick your head in the sand, then care and change?

Not in my extended family it has not...in fact my extended family praise Jehovah for coming into our lives and showing us and teaching us, to find exquisite delight in our God..and just how to immitate him as a parent..to the best of one's abilities

You must be talking about people who worship an idol..an organization..But I can assure you Jehovah is a wonderful God.

Well your not behaving are you Christian?

seeing we are commanded , that as "far as it is possible with you, be peaceful with all men"

Your scheming for a fight arn't you?

Why would that be Christian Tucker??

Is it because somewhere deep in your heart, it is not at rest, because something is nudging you..something that knows that Faith in Jesus , takes action ..not just hearers of the word but doers also..In that we are declared righteous by God due to the sort of Faith that is ALIVE..and not a dead FAITH that you promulgate?

Is that why your heart is prepared to fight when no one was attacking you??

"their lips speak peace but their heart is disposed for war."

We boast in the suprerority of our God Jehovah, and to him belongs the battle, you can't win against HIM.. LOL.

No,no,no,not looking for a fight, just trying to show you [as always] it's not about you,it's all about him.You are `saved by UNDESERVED kindness, nothing else.

You said:
Jehovah will never leave you as long as you don't leave him.So your salvation [as always] is about Jesus dying for your sins PLUS whatever LL can do to stay saved.

I agree its all about the superiority of Jehovah and not us..

wonderful amazing God ..how great he is.

No my salvation is found only in Christ

And Jehovah has revealed his new covenant to me, that Jesus mediates

god writes his Laws on our hearts and in our minds...that what he is doing with us who exercise faith in Jesus

that is why as Christians we don't abolish Law but establish Law..but you are so ignorant CT of the spirits work inside a Christian vessel..that you have lost the plot...And forget we are vessels for special possession.

Another thing that CT is ignorant about besides the new covenant is the fact is Fathers are to bring their children up in the mental regulation of Jehovah...which means teaching their children what is right and wrong, which the Law teaches as a tutor leading to Christ...

Ha ha ..CT tried to hijack the thread from showing how great our God Jehovah is..and how he gives parents the wisdom and joy to replace bad entertainment with good entertainment..

And as Christian witnesses of Jehovah our God, parents have access to him at any time for the love wisdom and energy in how to go about bringing up children in the mental regulation of Jehovah WITH JOY.
