You are AuroraMom correct?
She sounded as a brat because she was so young, 18 I think? The others were older and more mature mentally and physically than she was. She was also maybe nervous and that came out in her actions. The out of charactor part was the drinking of the alcohol on camera, and a few other things that I would have to watch the episode in order to tell you exactly what they were. To completely down her as you are doing is not because of how she acted but the fact that she was a witness. Had this young lady been any other faith, it would have never even been mentioned. What of the one who feel down while dancing, do you think it was because she had to much to drink, or did she just lose her balance? The only reason I responded is that I wondered why they allowed her to be part of the show when she could not enter the other churchs.
So for Jehovah's Witnesses to be in "charactor", is for them to be hypocrites.
They drink and drink heavily, but "charactor" is for them to pretend they do not.
Got it.
She was 22 and rude, no matter what her age.
I will let the show know that she did not enter the actual Churches because her cult views them as Satanic.
You are right, they should not have allowed it.
BTW, I had to remove "mom" because Jehovah's Witnesses replaced it with the word "slut" as that is what their "charactor" is.
Jehovah's Witnesses are misogynists, who view mothers as sluts.
How sad for the children of the cult.
Too bad the show did not capture the true "charactor" of Jehovah's Witnesses, huh?
They showed the older woman drinking too much and falling, probably why she never showed up for another wedding, don't you think?
She was polite though to the other brides, unlike the bratty Jehovah's Witness.
IMHO

I did not say she drank heavily, I said I was surprized that she was drinking knowing that the world see her as a Jehovahs witness and judge her for this. I also did not say she was being a hypocrite. Please do not say things I did not say.
If you can find a url for the episode I would like to see it again to see where she was being rude, I have looked and cannot find it.

The choice to go into another church is up to the individual, in this case, she must have felt she should not do it. She also mentioned that they did not do things such as the clicking of the glasses with the toast. We should not judge her for doing what she felt was wrong for her.

The true charactor of a faithful Jehovahs witness, shows a good person who loves God. Yes, they may follow the words of men who are misleading them, but they have blinded to the truth and are doing what they believe is right. I lead that same life for many years and can see where it is so hard to get through to them that some things they believe are wrong. All we can do is pray for them to have the scales removed from their eyes.

I think children naturally do not have those scales.
I found Jehovah's Witnesses to be the nastiest group of hypocrites, I have ever come in contact with.
The few good people were rare, my mother being one of them.
I watched as jealous "sisters" would rip her to pieces right in front of me, mostly because of her beauty.
You want to believe they are decent, and you are right, that is your choice.
We all have our own experiences we draw from.
I always hope for the sake of the children, that parents see the evil in this cult, before their innocent children pay the price.
Either with their lives or their innocence.

I have seen first hand how hiding the truth of sexual abuse has destroyed families in this faith, but I am sure that this same thing happens in other faiths as well, one example are Catholics.

I have seen women gossip about others, I have seen the sisters be jealous of other sisters because they were pretty. I have seen men become haughty and mean to other elders due to wealth. But these same things happen in other faiths as well. My mother raised two daughters in this faith and I think she did a very good job. I am a decent person and so is my sister. Yes, there are those children who were raised by fanatics who may have ruined their lives, but in most of the cases I have seen, this is not the case. You are right, we all do have examples we draw from. I am very sorry that your experiences were so bad.

I have met some very bad witnesses, and I have met those who are as wonderful as they can be, these are the ones who do what they do because they truly believe what they are taught and believe they are serving Jehovah out of love. You are also right, children are not born with these scales, but they could not leave the faith as children anyway. When they get to the right age of understanding, hopefully then those scales will be removed.

Nope Karen, wrong on this one.
While the Catholic Church is not going to win any awards for their handling of pedophilia, they have changed.
The WBTS does nothing, but continues to lure pedophiles by creating victims out of children of dimwit members, then protecting those pedophiles in court and isolating the victims and their families.
Jehovah's Witness Children are still taught to be always submissive sheep to all JW males especially elders!
Children of JWs are indoctrinated to fear those who they could go to for help, like teachers and police, as these adults are branded "satanic".
Catholic children are required to take personal safety classes where they are taught not to let anyone including priests and nuns invade their personal space, and to report any such activity.
Too bad the WBTS could care less about the health and safety of children, and only cares about increasing "numbers" especially of men, even if they are pedophiles.

It has taken the Catholic church a long time to get where they are today. I do agree that the WTBTS should take steps to do the same.
I was not taught to be a sheep or victim to males, nor were my daughters. Nor do I know any female child who is taught to be submission to males. Using the word LURE leads one to think that they advertize that their female members are there for their use, this is not true. I do realize that they have a problem with pedophiles but I believe it has to do with the policy of two witnesses to the act. I am in no way protecting them for how they handle such things as I myself believe once a child is abused the person should be reported by the elders if they are informed,or the family should report them. But this is how it should be in any faith or any family. Pedophiles are horrible and need to be separated from children all together. I also never remember being told police or teachers are satanic, nor was my girlfriends while growing up, nor my children. If your parents told you this, then maybe it was the KH you belonged to, or something your parents felt. I was always taught that if I needed help to go to my teacher or a policeman for help and this is what I tell my grandchildren to this day.

While the witnesses will tell you that they are doing something to handle the pedophile trouble, I see nothing they are doing. Right before I left there was a case of abuse and the elders told the family to keep it quiet to protect Jehovahs name. It was however reported to the police by the family, but nothing was ever done to the man by authorities or the Elders. This was, and is wrong on both accounts. The police did not investigate, nor did the Elders pursue it any farther than they had to. The mother and the young lady left the KH and moved to another town, I have no idea if she left the faith or not as I have lost touch.

We cannot lay guilt on one religion and not lay guilt on any and all that have this problem. They must learn to deal with it for the child and families sake. It must not be swept under the rug and forgotten about. We must teach our children that their bodies belong to them and they have the right to say NO. We also must teach our children that no matter who the person is, we must tell the proper authorities.

The best thing I can say without being rude and being totally neutral is..
Everyone has there own beliefs, everyone is there own person. NO ONE is PERFECT.
Just because someone is a certain religion everyone comes to criticize them it seems. Just like one girl mentioned a girl on the show fell because she was drunk, yet no one came to criticize her, she just may be catholic, who knows,
point is if she was catholic, the bible is the same! Maybe worded differently then other bibles but it says, to be modest n no drunkenness, does not say the poor girl can't have a drink! Jesus drank wine an gave it to hundreds of people.Yet the girl in the pink dress had one and acted totally appropriate but the other girl was a sloppy drunk. So the Jehovah's witness gets criticized for 1 or 2 drinks, but the one on the floor doesn't get judged at, for making her catholic religion look horrible. It just doesn't make sense how people reason theses days.
My 2nd point is the person choose to be what ever religion they are. N yes they should act apon it in there every day lives. Ppl r not perfect but just because there a certain religion and there not a nice person or are mean to ppl and how you say someone "ripped her apart" ( ur mom ), doesint mean that EVERYONE in that religion is a hypocrite or a bad person or so on and so forth.
It's very easy to judge these days, but life happens! Ppl have somthing to say about everything and everyone now.
And remember its a TV show! Nobody knows what goes down, I mean it could all be fake! Ppl are natural actors.

The WBTS refuses to protect the children of Jehovah's Witnesses, and children of JWs are indoctrinated to always be submissive to JW men.
This is criminal and wrong.
That is why, if anyone knows a child in the Jehovah's Witnesses, or any other cult, please keep an eye out for them for signs of abuse, their parents will not.

I protected my children, my mother protected me. We did not raise our daugthers to be submissive to JW men or any men. I had a lot of girlfriemds who were raised just the same way, to be strong women. I am very sorry if you do not agree with this, and you were raised to be submissive to men and were abused. All witnesses do not raise their children to be this way, to say so is not being truthful.

If anyone knows a child in ANY faith or any cult, please keep an eye out for them for signs of abuse. JW's parents love their children just as much as any other parents of any other faith and if they thought their child was being abused, they would report it. I do believe however that they are told to keep it quiet and not bring reproach upon Jehovahs name. When a person is brainwashed enough, they will believe this is the best thing to do for their God. When a person believes their faith with all their heart and soul, they will do what they are told to do. I do not agree with this.

Karen, I understand that you truly love your children and want to believe this.
But, I was a child of this cult.
When you are forced to sit through 5 meetings a weeks, for hours and hours at a time and are indoctrinated that women are nothing but subjects and male JWs are appointed by God, then the point comes through.
I know, I was a girl in this cult.
I was labeled a "goat", because I fought back, when creepy elders were leering at me, as an undeveloped 10 year old.
My parents would never stand up to the "elders" and neither would you.
That is how cults work, you speak up, you are frozen out.
I was old enough to already trust my teachers and was disgusted by depictions of the Pope and Satan shaking hands. Every priest I had ever known, was kind and loving. Believe it or not, most Priests are really great men, how sad the Church let the few perverts ruin the reputation of those that are good.
I am speaking from experience.
I am sure your children know that you love them, and would never want to hurt you.
FN just posted how he is already programming his son that his teacher and fellow students are all "Satanic" because they send Valentines.
Who is going to go to a Satan worshiper, when they are scared?
Sure, a child is going to run to someone they have been programmed to fear??
NO Way.
It is a perfect storm for a pedophile.
The only way we can raise strong daughters, is to not put such low expectations on them.
Women can do whatever they want, be CEO's of companies, and run countries if they choose and nothing is more important than raising, healthy, happy children.
None of this is supported by WBTS propaganda. Girls are to have no goals than to be a sexual slave so some dimwitted male JW, and spend their days schlepping WBTS propaganda as "pioneers".
The tie to the show, was that girl was a brat, because her only goal was that wedding.
Now what??
Her comment about not looking like she can eat whatever she wants, was one of the most vain soundbites ever!
One can only hope her scales are removed, before she gets into the wedding merry-go-round at the KH.

It was the one from last week, so the most recent.
Oh, it is episode 73, original airdate 5/6/11
I just found it interesting that the people I was with found her obnoxious.
You know, she can't go into any church, but she makes everyone come to her religious ceremony.
Typical JW hypocrite.
Just would have been nice, if she actually was honest and explained Jehovah's Witnesses look at Christian Churches as part of Satan Worship.

Thanks for the info on the program.

You KNOW JWs don't want to put the WTS unchristian and corrupt teachings out in the open....and certainly don't want to tip off any prospective recruits as to their elitism and disgust of all other faiths.

You have your experiences and I have mine. Mine were nothing like yours, nor were my childrens. Both of my daughters are strong as I am, because we were raised JW's does not makes some of us strong or weak. Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe you were raised by those we refer to as fanatics?(I am not condemning your parents or putting them down, just asking a question) I was a young girl in this relgion as well.

I watched the Four Weddings on TLC again last night and the Jehovahs witness lady did not show to me that she was a brat. Yes she said what she did about being able to eat what she wants, but she was slim and maybe never has had an eating problem. My husband is like that and will tell you in a second he eats everything in sight and does not gain a pound, does that make him a brat?:)
I never saw her be rude to the other girls and I was looking for it. I saw someone who was nervous about being on TV but was also enjoying the fact that she was. She was disappointed she lost, but wouldnt you and I have been disappointed as well? Her only goal was the wedding, thats the name of the show, Four Weddings.

I never had to stand up for my children, but I did stand up for another young lady, so please dont tell me that I wouldnt have for my own children.

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy what the good Lord has given us.

NO girl raised to be a "subject" is strong.
Only if you disobey the wBTS and teach your daughters they are equal to men is this possible.
Period.

Good words from ancient Greek philosophy...

"Do not to your neighbor what you would take ill from him." – Pittacus[10](c. 640–568 BCE)

"Avoid doing what you would blame others for doing." – Thales[11]

"What you do not want to happen to you, do not do it yourself either. " – Sextus the Pythagorean.[12] The oldest extant reference to Sextus is by Origin in the third century of the common era.[13]

"Do not do to others what would anger you if done to you by others." – Isocrates[14]

"What thou avoidest suffering thyself seek not to impose on others." – Epictetus[15]

"It is impossible to live a pleasant life without living wisely and well and justly (agreeing 'neither to harm nor be harmed'[16]), and it is impossible to live wisely and well and justly without living a pleasant life." – Epicurus[17]

"One should never do wrong in return, nor mistreat any man, no matter how one has been mistreated by him." – Plato's Socrates (Crito, 49c)(c. 469 BC–399 BCE)

Then we agree, NO girl raised to be a "subject" can be strong. That is why myself, and my daughters and many other young ladies who I grew up with are very strong women. When a person is full of hate, there can be no strength, the hate eats them up.

Well, she came off as the pompous, vacuous air head that she is.
The product of an upbringing with no goals for young women, except marriage.
Wow.
Wonder why the women are all so nasty and depressed at the Kingdom Hall?
Watch, even at the end, she was like, now what?

She has no career, no education, just the hope that all the other brides and the 99.99% of the world that does not worship her publishing company, are going to be violently murdered any day now.
Sad.
