What is the precedent in the GB having all of their needs taken care of by WT funds? Paul had to make his own freaking tents and sell them to keep financing his work, and he was apparently not only part of the "1st Century Governing Body" he actually went out in the ministry most of the time unlike today's suit-wearing Bethel-ice-cream-eating (though I hear its good) GB.

The GB work full time for no pay. Giving them a place to live and food to eat is the least we can do and is very little compensation for them.

Are you saying Paul didn't work in the ministry full time?

Should we not guard against such an inclination? Or we may be in our youthful years and realize that there is no better career than full-time service. Still, do we put off pioneering, reasoning that we should first become financially secure? Should we not do our best now to be rich toward God? Who knows whether we will be alive tomorrow?<<<
This is totally wreckless and irresponsible. Maybe the WTBS has a pension plan for those poor rank and file that believed all the FDS's end-time prophecies. If not, this non-prophet organization should keep its nose out of the retirement planning done by wise and practical JWs.

Only a fool would put all their trust in men and not prepare for life after working. My advice to all JW's is to look at penniless and near destitute JWs who clung to the teachings about the 1914 generation. If you are working now, contribute the near max to your 401k and work full-time so you are contributing to social security. Because when you retire it will be your savings and the government that will take care of you, not the WTBS!

What Mikronboy "forgot" to mention is that the article is talking about the warning given to us by JESUS CHRIST and suggesting things to think about based upon Jesus Christ's words.
Here is the part of the article immediately before the out-of-context quote Mikronboy provided:
*** Feb 2013, Study edition.
The pursuit of material things. The desire to satisfy our physical needs is natural. However, Jesus gave a warning example concerning attaching undue importance to material things. In one of his illustrations, Jesus invites us to consider the case of a rich man whose storehouses were full. Therefore, he had no place to store produce from another good harvest. The man intended to tear down his storehouses and build larger ones. He reasoned:“There I will gather all my grain and all my good things; and I will say to my soul:‘Soul, you have many good things laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, enjoy yourself.’” However, this rich man failed to take into account an inevitable fact: His life could end that very night.—Luke 12:16-20.

. One might read the article.. and also reflect on those that left their moneys as Corban leaving nothing to aid their familys in their old age or need.. And reflect that there was a need to care for the widow and fatherless boy.. NOW..If one had not earned this money in some way..how ...pray tell would he have it to give to the WTS?? Also reflect that there was a day ..God HAD DESIGNATED for people ..that work was not allowed and worship of him was the primary thing for the day.. meaning that he was well aware that it took work..labor.. and or money in some form to provide the necessities for the family.. That fact is.. The WTS.. hasn't a clue.. They don't have to support a family.. their needs are provided ..fully by others.. and yes.. so are their vacations.. and travel expences.. On the other hand you have the poor smucks that bow to these leaches cronicly being told that the overtime is materialistic.. Hmm! What makes them the conscience of those that..not only have families..but also have to pay for unseen and unexpected occurances.

You will keep denying the truth because it doesn't interest you.

Its a fact guaranteed by the law.

The WTS is a NON-PROFIT organization. Everyone who works for them is an unpaid volunteer.

No private individual can get their hands on the money people have donated, it must all be used in the process of achieving its primary goals - printing Bibles and books and building places of worship etc...

, Really!? and you know this how.?? They have a writing staff.. And people scouring the UN libarys for imfo to fill their Magazines with.. What exactly ..do they work at?? IF the WTS..is just a business.. well then that means they have a staff to run the different entities of it.. SO..no sweat there.. And I think we've established that what is printed isn't pre- read by them.. Or their would be no need to dump the material.. because superstiously they might contain Apostate thinking.. As the holy spirit should have alerted them of that before it was put to bed.. I mean ..they do claim to be God's voice.. Either they are OR..

Sometimes he worked as a tent-maker. Sometimes he took payments from his more established congregations and sometimes he accepted donations from them.

Actually this whole post displays ignorance of the GB and the Bible.

Those members of the GB that can travel, travel all over the world supporting the congregations like Apostle Paul did. Also, some of the Apostles and elders of the first century "governing body" stayed in Jerusalem and did not travel.

7,000,000 people don't just organize themselves. If you think the GB sit around doing nothing then you are dumber than you look. But we both know that the GB are not idle. They work and they work hard and they get no pay for their efforts.

You just hate the truth and prefer to spread malicious GOSSIP about decent hard-working Christians.

Once again Gareth, where is the WTS getting the money from to pay the 21 million for their loss in the Conti case? Where is the money coming from to pay the lawyers? What about the countless gag orders they've paid out? Where did they get that money from???

There is no "non-profit" status guaranteed by law.

Actually, it's quite common for organizations to become non-profit and then lose their non-profit status.

The wicked and evil cult of jehovah's witnesses is no more non-profit than WalMart.

If an investigation was done and the accounting was examined, I guarantee the cult of jehovah's witnesses would lose their non-profit status.

Turning a non-profit into a for-profit is a stupid idea of the non-profit is well funded because it would suddenly have to pay massive amounts of TAX.

Further more, if the Governing Body wanted to make money then they could easily choose to accept a salary from the non-profit. Many non-profit churches pay the church leaders large sums of money in in the form of wages.

However the leaders of Jehovah's Witnesses have chosen NOT to accept ANY wages. They could LEGALLY earn hundreds of thousands of dollars from the non-profit WTS but they CHOOSE to earn absolutely NOTHING.

They have taken the legal equivalent of a "voe of poverty".

The entire organization of jehovah's witnesses is a stupid idea.

And the organization claims to be non-profit, but most people realize this is a farce.

Did you mean a "vow of poverty"?

We know that too is a lie.

The fact is that you don't believe what Jehovah's Witnesses teach.

That's your choice.

But it is no excuse to go round spreading lies about them they way you have been.
