When the article ( http://www.burtonmail.co.uk/News/Jehovahs-Wit... ) came out, it said that the jury had already retired. But then Teary never heard anything more about the case after that.

Anybody know what the result was?

What are you talking about? You already commented on the thread I posted the story of the verdict? http://www.topix.com/religion/jehovahs-witnes...

"Jehovah's Witness is guilty of indecent assaultsA SOUTH Derbyshire Jehovah's Witness has been convicted of nine offences of indecent assault on young girls.

Judge David GoodinPaul Wood, 40, was found not guilty of a charge of rape. The jury at Ipswich Crown Court was discharged after failing to reach verdicts on 11 other charges."

Wow, yet another sexual assault of children by a Jehovah's Witness.
The WBTS must be so proud.

1. There are over 230,000 cases of sexual assault in the U.S. every year; and if religious statistics still apply to that group, then the majority of the attackers were nominal, non-JW Christians. So what does being a Witness have to do with the individual's actions? There is no evidence that he was shielded at all by the congregation, and the women and their parents were given every opportunity in the world to report the guy within the same decade that the alleged assaults happened. Additionally, if he was a Muslim or a Methodist or a Pentacostal, do you think that the fact would be mentioned in every sentence like it is in these articles? Of course not.

2. There is no way in the world that he prosecution had any actual evidence after 14-20 years other than hearsay. That is why the jury threw out the rape charges, because they knew that there wasn't any evidence to support it. But they probably still wanted to get the guy on something, even if there was no evidence whatsoever, so they threw the indecent assault charges at him based on hearsay alone. Now a husband and father of two is going to sit behind bars.

Yea, just like the WT went after the catholic priests.

A bit hypocritical in that sense.

Anybody give a $hit about those abused?

If they can actually prove that they were abused, and if they can do it within 2 decades of when they say that it happened (which apparently they couldn't do here), then Teary will show some sympathy.

Teary hasn't had a reason to give out any sympathy yet.

I believe God is a god of justice..I know that when people saw Paul had been bitten by a snake, they believed divine justice had caught up with him

So I believe in divine justice..

Ecclesiastes 8 [12] Although a sinner , may be doing bad a hundred times and continuing a long time as he pleases , yet I am aware that it will turn out well with those fearing the true God , because they were in fear of him. but it will not turn out well at all with the wicked one , neither will he prolong his days, that are like a shadow , because he is not in fear of God."

God reassures us..it may look like they are getting away with things but

Ecclesiates 5 [8] If you see any oppression of the one of little means , and a violent taken away of judgment....do not be amazed at the affair, for one that is higher then the high one is watching , and there are those higher then them."
