Because they lied to me

because I was following a cult

they are protecting pedophiles

they are a bunch of dictators

I was bad, they kicked me out

they were right, I was wrong

This thread really has a silly title!

Its asking why former JW's are angry with a magazine...the WT ;-)

I believe a better title would read:

"Why are former JW's so angry with the self anointed, self appointed, self exalted false Christ GB?"

Hi Susie! how about why are you so angry with a system that chews you up and spits you out?".
And its because the systems of this world don't care about individual people, however individuals make up the different systems, Jesus said " we are to be no part of the world' and he has called us out of the world, so we can't belong to its religious or political systems.
But " happy is the one who has the God of Jacob for his help . Whose hope is in Jehovah his God."
So now we have learned Jehovah is a spirit and true worshipers worship him with spirit and truth, we should be happy.

Yea! It's not the Watchtower's fault that it is written by those men.

When the time comes to render an account for what that magazine contains, people want go after the journal itself, they will go after the men responsible for writing that crap.

Hi LL.
Well, its the system that Satan has built up by enticing and empowering selfish, egotistical and ungodly MEN and they have happily stepped up to the plate to help him do it!
I am angry with Satan and his hordes, but I love the people who have been lied too and taken as captives into his system of things.
I pray for them all to wake up and come to their senses and and let JESUS our GREAT SHEPHERD and KING lead them into HIS righteous pasturage.
Until they learn what union with Jesus really means they won't even blink at worshiping Jehovah in spirit and truth!

Absolutely true brother!
Its funny how they call their religion and leaders the WT...hahaha!
Really gives a full scope of WHO and WHAT they worship and obey!

(Isaiah 40:25)“But to whom can YOU people liken me so that I should be made his equal?” says the Holy One."

(Isaiah 42:8)“I am Jehovah. That is my name; and to no one else shall I give my own glory, neither my praise to graven images."

(Isaiah 46:5)“To whom will YOU people liken me or make [me] equal or compare me that we may resemble each other?"

Hi CIA free,
Aren't judgementalism and an overcritical attitude in themselves rooted in a lack of love? I don't think these things have replaced a lack of love... I think they are just more evidence of the lack of love in the org.

I think that's true of most xjws. There is a process you go through, similar to the grief process after losing a loved one. There is denial first, then grief, then anger, then depression, and finally acceptance. You can get stuck in any stage..and repeat them too sometimes. It's a process, and it is rarely easy. It is, after all, a loss...of a belief system, your identity, your community, your way of life and much more.

Yes that's so true. In my case there was no disfellowshipping invoved or dissassociation. None of that. However, when we go back to visit my folks in another state. We often run into so many of the friends who have moved in the same locale also. They act just fine with us. Then again we were lifelong friends. I was raised with these people. The friends who act a little stink. Who needs them?.........I surely can understand Debbie, the hurt ou felt being rejected by those very friends you've known your whole life. Many i know go through the same thing..........My mom has run into D'F sisters in the store (one in particular) they hugged she told me and spoke at length for a couple of hours in the store. Catching up. I guess. Did they associate after that? No. However i thought it was beautiful on my moms part to validate her and respond to the humanity within herself and talk to the D'f sister. The d'f sister sadly expressed a little desire to return according to my mom but i think it was for social reasons (she was always arguing with the brothers over doctrine, you know where that gets you).......It's sad she has doubts over whether her life is taking the right course, i really don't know her reason for wanting to possibly come back after 20 years?.........We also have one of my brothers who's disfellowshipped who we treat as a normal part of the family. Many of the Hispanic friends treat their childern just the same (not all). Family is family..........You have such truthful, reflective observations. Did you ever consider writing a book?...... We should get a radio program on X/M-serius (cable radio) available once a weeek program for this very timely and worthwhile subject. I t would benefit soooooo many people. It really would..........Agape, TPMP 35

Hi TPMP 35,
Thanks for the kind words. I've never seriously considered writing a book. In all honesty, I wouldn't know where to start. Maybe one day. Life is pretty busy right now...

with a lot of us, even though we are over the grieving period, we feel a responsibility now to warn others.

its quite a skill to be able to debate active jws, and expose the jw gov body for what they are.
most mainstream chistians don't have a clue how to effectively talk to jws.

we are in a unique position, from our experience as being fooled by the cult and brainwashed.
we know the jw lingo.

Ever notice that some of those Witnesses ..that took the Dale Carnegie Course.. Effected the head nods to visually get people to accept what they are saying.. Without giving a thought that they are being manipulated..?? My Step Mother was one of those. And It sure is nice to not have to deal with that on a Comp.. When you talk to people.. Just an observation..

I didnt know. After reading it, I see they worded it as to make it sound as if a witness would suffer no consequences for doing so. But as a witness we know that is not how it truly is. It was left to the person to decide for themselves if it was okay or not. The government of Bulgaria just doesnt know how they truly operate.
