"Forgive One Another Freely"

Paragraph 16

In accord with Jehovah’s will, Christian elders have been entrusted with the responsibility of handling cases of wrongdoing in the congregation. These brothers do not have the full insight that God does, but they aim to make their decision harmonize with the direction given in God’s Word under the guidance of holy spirit. Hence, what they decide in such matters after seeking Jehovah’s help in prayer will reflect his point of view.—Matt. 18:18.

Translation:
Elders are imperfect men and are not inspired .
However, since they say a prayer and ask for God's holy spirit, they are telling you exactly what Jehovah would say on the matter.

Thanks for posting the link to the Watchtower Study article, Gareth.

You seem to forget that most nonJW readers on this board haven't been indoctrinated into believing the false doctrines of the Jehovah's Witnesses by studying a Watchtower book such as "What Does the Bible Really Teach" so they will easily recognise the massive amount of codswallop found in the November 15, 2012 Watchtower.

Keep posting links to the Watchtower's books and magazines. NonJW need to read for themselves what makes Jehovah's Witnesses so unique in their beliefs, especially those with relatives who have been throughly convinced by the Watchtower Society that everyone except JW's are on satan's payroll.

Actually discerning readers should ask the question..why does a representative of an organization..promote three uninspired books to read , rather then direct people to read the one book the inspired scriptures.?

The answer is because they steal the word of god place it in parts of their uninspired writing and so try to set themselves up as mediators between God and men, rather then JESUS.

That's why they are against Christians.

Oh, goody, goody, GOODY!

More man made books to read and digest written by "spiritual leaders" that have a vast history of more than a century of writing lies, pure garbage and predicting wrong dates and promoting these as "food from God".

What POSSIBLE credibility could anyone even think these men have left with such a reprehensible record of false teachings under their belts?

Jesus instructed us to TEACH people. He did not tell us to just hand them a Bible and let them work it all out for themselves.

*** Matt 28:19,20 Therefore go, and make disciples of all nations,..., TEACHING them to observe all things that I commanded you.

So Jehovah's Witnesses are simply obeying Jesus and following their Christian responsibilities by TEACHING people. Books are a most excellent TEACHING aid:

These publications are wonderful. Naturally, they will have their detractors.

Few people just read the Bible to and with others without comment, and without a theme to discuss whatever idea they are interested in. Also, many seek understanding of scriptural verses and of course, with prayer, must also consult dictionaries and lexicons as well as discussing these things with other knowledgeable men, asking for God's holy spirit. And as we see here, many people discuss ideas at and around the Bible, yet they think that others whose exposition they do not like are not supposed to do that.:-)

I particularly like this scripture today, 2 Corinthians 13:11, "Finally, brothers, continue to rejoice, to be readjusted, to be comforted, to think in agreement, to live peaceably; and the God of love and of peace will be with you"

Paul was giving admonition and advice to the Corinthian congregation, written and preserved for our instruction. Have a nice day.:-)

Just look at Philip with the Eunuch , he opened up the scriptures and preached Christ to the eunuch..You don't see him handing out religious tracts.

Lets put it this way..when we read articles by uninspired men, we check their words with the inspired scriptures

the organization are giving people UNINSPIRED magazines to try and teach people that 'some' of the INSPIRED scriptures are not talking to them..Like the bread and wine commandment, and Jesus teaching us 'you people must be born again'

If your blokes were INSPIRED in their writing as the Apostles are..you may have a point..but apparently they have publicly confessed they are not INSPIRED.

That's right Paul's writings are INSPIRED and we study the INSPIRED writings and we all are in agreement with his words

However you go to meetings to study UNINSPIRED writings that try and explain INSPIRED writings to you...and your speaking in agreement, tends to mean you are all in agreement with the UNINSPIRED TEACHINGS.

And you can't even see that without the SPIRIT , you really can't study Gods words..Because the Spirit INSPIRED the writings of scripture and the SPIRIT is needed to understand them..You have UNINSPIRED writings by men who admit they are UNINSPIRED

The very fact they confess their writings are UNINSPIRED shows, they don't have the spirit.. so they don't come from God..Because Gods Spirit doesn't write UNINSPIRED words for a start.

The key to scripture are the words, "TEACHING them to observe all things that I commanded you."

So it is the word of God that we are to be teaching and not the teachings of men.

Your books Gareth, contain the teachings of men. Their ideas are not from the scriptures so it is no surprise when their surmises fail, and yet more books are needed to explain the previous book's failures and offer yet a new idea.

Again Gareth, we are to teach God's words, not man's surmises! It is the surmising game that has brought your organization's name into disrepute and has made a mockery of the scriptures.

If you notice, little lamb, many of the apostles' speeches were, in fact, Bible-based, but also commentary. And some of those things were not easy to understand. So they didn't just go around doing nothing but read the Bible out loud. Even JESUS said when he read from Isaiah that the scripture he read to them was fulfilled, commenting on it.

Let me ask you a question, ll. You say that I can't study God's words without the spirit. I would agree. But when you see people here that deny God's name is Jehovah, yet claim to be saved, do you believe their claims, first about God's name not being Jehovah, and then about being saved with guarantee and 'spirit' from Jehovah?

Paul's words do not claim inspiration, so why do you claim that for them? The books from Genesis to Malachi have that claimed for them, also the book of Revelation.

The Apostles had been baptized in the Holy Spirit, and had Gods spirit within them..These men are 'adequately qualified by God to be ministers of a new covenant"

The organization men, do not minister a new covenant in the same way as the Apostles, because they have not remained in the original teachings of Christ Jesus and the Apostles...

and most of the organizations uninspired writing is done to convince people there is two hopes , and they don't stick to the new covenant teaching in Ephesians, that states there is only ONE HOPE..

Also their uninspired teachings are designed to teach people that Jesus words ' you must be born again of spirit is not talking to them..and to further convince people that the whole new covenant [testament] is not talking to YOU but THEM and THEY.

Jesus sends us to baptize people in the name of the father and the son and the Holy Spirit...

I would say those who argue against Gods name, have not been baptized in the name of the Father...they may be baptized in the name of the son..but their knowledge is lacking ..because we are told ,'this means everlasting life , taking in KNOWLEDGE of you the only true God AND the one you sent forth Jesus Christ..."

So its faith in Jesus name that we are given the Holy Spirit,

So any Christian hearing the word of God, should recognize the TRUTH as coming from THE WORD...

However many are caught up in false organization teachings as well..like trinity etc.and have very little knowledge of what the new covenant is about,

Our responsibility as Christians is to encourage FAITH because Jesus did not extinguish and flickering wick...

which means in a lot of Christians that wick of Gods light is burning low, and we are to encourage peoples faith in Jesus..not in their or our religion, and we are to be gentle as nursing mothers.
