are you a JW?
have you heard or read the books they read that trashes other faiths in writing?
do you know they shun and dis fellowship e.x if you are a jw and your parents saw you smoke. your elder finds out and bingo you are no longer their son!! did you know this??
do you know newborn babies die because the new moms carry them for none months and if they need a transfusion the answer is not and they sit back and watch them die????
do they talk to their neighbors if they are not jws????
I have to say this is a poor ass comment, I am a disfellowshipped JW and if you knew a ounce of anything bout jehovah's witnesses you'd know that this means of shunning is to protect the flock and blood transfusions are a necessity cuz of the sacredness of blood to jehovah, and that there is a better promise of the life to come in paradise more fulfilling then this world could ever know. and smoking is a defilement to our temples that one... belong 2 jehovah anyway, so to tell is not too is protecting oneself and showing the love HE, GOD, JEHOVAH has 4 us. and it ain't like bam you out because the elders find out, its how remorsefull we are when being corrected. do some research before saying unfounded thoughts and being so matter of factly.

people do not understand what a cult is...i am a studying witness. every once an awhile people do leave the congregation but they are no longer able to associate with any other witness; bc they would have a bad influence. so to uphold the name/status of the people. if someone does commit a sin bad enough to be dismemberment and they do not truly repent they are no longer with the congregation. so if someone does do something bad they are no longer one of jehova's witness

some define sect to mean a group that has broken away from an established religion. Others apply the term to a group that follows a particular human leader or teacher. the term is usually used in a derogatory way. Jehovah's witnesses are not in offshoot of some church but include persons from all walks of life and from many religious backgrounds. they do not look to any human, but rather to Jesus Christ, as their leader.

A cult is a religion that is said to be on orthodox or that emphasizes devotion according to prescribed ritual. many cults follow a living human leader, an often their like adherents live in groups apart from the rest of society. the standard for what is orthodox, however, should be God's word, and ship is a way of life, not a ritual devotion. they neither follow a human nor isolate them self from the rest of society. they live and work in the midst of people.

What an obtuse accusation/statement. JW's do not participate in the Battle of Armageddon. All we do is warn people about it.

JW's are human beings like everyone. Some few go astray, but overall, they are living, caring people who try to do the best they can. I know, my deceased parents were JW's, and I am walking the same path. I am happy to know my GOD(Jehovah), and am by no means ashamed of my beliefs.

You my friend sound like a recording for the WTS.
I hope you do some research into this org before you get in so deep you can't get out.
They twist scripture to suit their doctrine.
You are not allowed to disagree and when you go out door to door you have to teach a lie , even when they know it is a lie, until then decide to change it.
They have prophesied many times and not one thing came true.
If you read your Bible you will know that false prophets end up in the lake of fire.
They preach hate and they will shun their own children.
They added and took away from the Holy Bible so you know what happens to them.
Read your Bible without the WT literature and you will see the truth.
It's all love and sweetness now but there is so much more that they don't tell you until you are baptized.
I studied with them also and while I listened to them I know it was all a lie.

That's the trouble, Nomi. The only God you know is what the WT told you. You have no personal relationship with God or Jesus. You have words and laws and nothing else. It's time to wake up before it is too late. Talk to your son. Read the Bible without the WT and you will find the real Jesus.

My suggestion to you is to study the origins of the Jehovah's Witnesses. They are a breakaway from the Bible Students. Judge Rutherford gave them a new name: Jehovah's Witnesses, but those who continued to follow Russell kept the name Bible Students. The Bible Students still exist today. Do a google search on Bible Students. Even the Bible Students didn't come out of a vacuum. They were highly influenced by the Second Adventists and Charles Taze Russell.

I was raised by a mother who became a witness when I was 2.My dad never committed to it.The bottom line is that they are the true religion.99% of whole world is a cult.Cults follow man.The witnesses profess the true God,Jehovah, and also bear witness about his son Christ Jesus. They don't run up behind any human and vote for them as they are not political at all. They are not militant and violent and phony as many false religions are. They know that no human can save themselves from strife, death, sickness.Obama or whoever you put in office doesn't have the power, neither ENOUGH love to do provide what this world needs.Jehovah's Kingdom, that is soon to come, with Christ Jesus as King of this government will replace and put an end to all governments. There won't be a need for another election. He has the power and love for mankind. Those who are not in on the count need to worry if they survive Armageddon. This is the same world that took his Son out.Only Jehovah knows the day and hour in which his patience will have ran out and he rock this wicked demonized system of things out of existence.

It's actually going to be trouble for you who refuse to recognize that there is only one true God named,Jehovah.Only preaching about Jesus is incomplete and thus false.Jesus is mighty.Jehovah is Almighty.I'm very aware of what false religion preaches.Who resurrected Jesus? Remember God has no beginning or end. What is the name of the god you serve? How can you have a relationship with someone and not know their name?? One other point,Jesus called himself, the Christ. He didn't called himself god.He even warned some of his apostles not to bow down to him.It is Jehovah, your
God alone, you must worship. The religion is theocratic, which means,God rules it.Man isn't running anything as in many other religions. When he is satisfied with the preaching of his Word, then he'll end it.I guarantee you know one else will.

Nomi, I have to agree with dee here, read your bible and not the WT. Read what it says first and you will see a lot of things the WT says does not agree with the bible. I am not trying to make you change your faith, but at least know the truth. I have been a JW since I was very very young, I am just now beginning to see the wrongs in it. You must be having some doubts are you would not be here. Listen to your heart and read your bible and pray for Jehovah to help you see the truth.

you are all just afriad of something new.Jehovah is God it is even written that way in the King James Bible. Jehovah(GOD) says this is his name.
Did you know Jesus wasn't born on Dec 25th He was born in the month of June a raining season in Jueruslem. So all this hype about Chirstmas is just for the stores and not for Jesus if it was for Jesus why would you buy gifts for someone else than for your Lord Jesus. HMM.
And tell me this why would you if you believe in God allow your kids to celebrate the night of all Evil is to roam the earth.Holloween. So you call your selves Chirstians and you turn your noses up to Jehovah Witness than you really aren't much of a follower of Jehovah(GOD); in the first place. Think about what you are fighting for and quite being afraid of something you know nothing about.
Why be a sob. A really Chirstian loves everyone and never turns them away no matter what religon they are and a Jehovah will help one as they are their own.
On the blood thing, with the scare of everything about blood even thou they say they check it all still you can get something from someone else's blood they look for one thing. If it was meant to be it will be. Jehovah will be there for you no matter what, and if it is time for you to go than you can't stop it no matter if you got blood or not.

So, you are mocking your own cult, which glorifies the mass murder of children, so only Jehovah's Witnesses will inhabit the planet?
Sure yuni, that is a full deck you are playing with.

I was raised a JW.
my parents are still members..
I left at 15 because i wouldnt conform.
maybe some of these people posting should learn about a topic before posting.

true we were raised that the world will end and we would be the only ones to live on earth.
false, my parents still talk to me andd my sisters even tho none of us are JWs now.
blood transfusions, apart of their belief structure, i still wouldnt allow my children to have one based on medical facts.
wiping out millions of innocent children, the christian god allows this everyday, so whats the difference.

point is , if your going to talk crap, learn about it first.
ignorence is not a defence.

Then don't trust anyone in this forum. Trust Steve Hassan, a former member of the Moonies cult, who wrote the following things in his book "Combatting Cult Mind Control". Understand that there are varying degrees of cult behavior, and not every cult fits the entire spectrum. But here are some tell-tale signs.
When I lectured at colleges, I usually challenge my audience with the question "How would you know if you were under mind control?"
After some reflection, most people will realize that if one were under mind control, it would be impossible to determine it without some help from others. In addition, one would need to understand very clearly what mind control is.

Mind control, also called "thought reform", is more subtle and sophisticated [than brainwwashing]. It's perpetrators are regarded as friends or peers, so the person is much less defensive...
Min control involves little or no overt physical abuse. Instead, hypnotic processes are combined with group dynamics to create a potent indoctrination effect. The individual is deceived and manipulated - not directly threatened - into making the prescribed choices. On the whole, he responds positively to what is done to him.

In totalistic cults, the ideology is internalized as "the truth," the only "map" of reality. The doctrine not only serves to filter incoming information but also regulates how the information can be thought about. Usually the doctrine is absolutist, dividing everything into "black versus white" "us versus them".

Another key aspect of thought control involves training members to block out any information which is critical of the group. A person's typical defense mechanisms are twisted so they defend the persons new cult identity against his old former identity.

When cult leaders tell the public "Members are free to leave at any time they want, the door is open" they give the impression that members have free will and are simply choosing to stay. Actually, members may not have a real choice, because they have been indoctrinated to have a phobia of the outside world. Induced phobias eliminate the psychological possibility of a person choosing to leave the group merely because he is unhappy or wants to do something else.
...
In a destructive cult, there is never a legitimate reason for leaving. Unlike non-cult organizations that recognize a person's inherent right to choose and move on, mind control groups make it very clear that there is no legitimate way to leave. Members are told that the only reasons why people leave are weakness, insanity, temptation, brainwashing (by deprogrammers) pride, sin, and so on.
Members are thoroughly indoctrinated with the belief that if they ever do leave, terrible consequences will befall them, their family, and/or mankind. Although cult members will often say "Show me a way that is better than mine and I will quit" they are not allowed the time or mental tools to prove that statement to themselves. They are locked in a psychological prison.

This is one of the most revealing sets of questions you can ask any cult member. Any legitimate organization would never discourage contact with former members. Likewise, legitimate groups would support and member's decision to leave, even though they may not like it.

I will not join them in their work but if anyone just disregard them without spending time with them, that, to me, is stupidity at it's highest level.
I asked about the blood thing and he explained that they go out of their way to find other methods to do surgeries without blood and he show me books and CD's aabout these. Of course I didnt watch them cos i dont have time.
By the way I know people who still die after taking blood transfusion anyway, so please that argument doesn't hold water.
(goodness me, i never knew i would defend JW in my life!)
I don't doubt that your neighbor believes deeply is what he believes but you have to understand that what they teach is a twisted version of the Bible.
What he was doing is called "love bombing". He will use this superficial form of seeming to care while trying to get you to commit yourself to an organization of men and all of that will disapear if you tell him the WTS is wrong on any point. He will use the WT 's twisted scriptures to try to convince you they are right and the 99.9% of the rest of the population are ruled by Satan. They have some truth mixed with the lies and that will confuse people if they don't know the history of all the false prophecies. Not one thing they said would actually did happen.Jesus was suppose to come so many times , and when that didn't happen well they decide it did happen only invisibly, even though the Bible says all eyes will see him. Only a few men in the WTS SAW HIM (INVISIBLE?) not all men like the Bible says. What would you call that?
There's a great deal more but I think you get the idea.
Enjoy your neighbor but be aware.
