Notice how Jesus words are modified by the immediate context:

John 17:1-3

"...FATHER [...]((( YOU )))[...](( YOU ))) SENT..." ?

Who do you think Jesus meant when he said:

"...((( YOU )))--- THE --- ONLY..." ?

Who was Jesus talking about?

Himself?

"...((( ME ))) THE ONLY TRUE GOD, AND THE ONE WHOM ((( I ))) SENT FORTH..."..." ?

No!

Both the Father and the Son, the two of them?

"...((( WE ))) THE ONLY TRUE GOD(S), AND THE ONE WHOM ((( WE ))) SENT FORTH..."

Or the Father and the Son, and the holy spirit, the three of them?

"...((( WE ))) THE ONLY TRUE GOD(S), AND THE ONE WHOM ((( WE ))) SENT FORTH..."

Reductio ad absurdum!

2. no more than; merely; just: If it were only true! I cook only on weekends.
3. as recently as: I read that article only yesterday.
4. in the final outcome or decision: You will only regret your harsh words to me.
adjective
5. being the single one or the relatively few of the kind: This is the only pencil I can find.
6. having no sibling or no sibling of the same sex: an only child; an only son.
7. single in superiority or distinction; unique; the best: the one and only Muhammad Ali.
John 17:3 doesn't say 'the only ONE true God' rather 'the only true God' and, according to the above, it could be rendered as 'the FEW [of the kind] true God[s]'.
"Let us", Elohim, plural = Gods; Genesis 1:26.

Reductio ad absurdum!
"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee [YOU*] the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou [YOU*] hast sent." (John 17:3, KJV)

* YOU could be renedered both singular and plural!

Therefore,'the only true God' could be rendered as 'the only true Gods'[the Father and the Holy Spirit]!

Matt, I asked you this question before but you said you need more time to study it to give an answer.

Just wonder if you have the answer!

"Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me." Isaiah 43:10, KJV

SO, I would like to ask you once again, WHEN DID GOD CREATE ANOTHER [a] GOD [JESUS CHRIST]?

This information is not for the shallow casual observer.
This will need your undivided attention and some genuine Bible Study.
The conclusion you will come to is that In Hebrews 1:8-12, the apostle Paul declares that Jesus is Jehovah.
This is how we know this.
In Hebrews 1:8-12 we read: "But with reference to the Son [he says].....'You at the beginning, O Lord, laid the foundations of the earth itself, and the heavens are the works of your hands'" – which is a quotation that the New World Translation of Jehovah’s Witnesses says is taken from Psalm 102:25
Now read Psalm 102 in its entirety and you will see that the Psalm as a whole is about Jehovah and, specifically, Psalm 102:25 is clearly about Jehovah and creation where we read:
“Long ago you laid the foundations of the earth itself,
And the heavens are the work of your hands.”
But in Hebrews 1:8-12, where Paul is proving that Jesus is superior to angels, Paul explicitly says that Psalm 102:25 is written “with reference to the Son”.
So, according to Paul at Hebrews 1:8-12, the Son of God, Jesus Christ, can be identified with Jehovah the creator of Psalm 102:25
Surely not you say. But read it again and again. There is no escaping it.
Paul says Jesus is Jehovah.
Yea, he is identified with him.

Pro 8:30 Then I was by him,[as] one brought up [with him]: and I was daily [his] delight, rejoicing always before him;

Not in Greek original of John 17:3!

They have suffix's for the plural.

Which is --- not --- in John 17:3.

In Greek words that pertain to the subject must agree in case, number, and gender.

It's called grammatical agreement, or the rule of concord.

Your really grasping at straws there.

Interesting word that: "...ENTIT-( IES )..."!

John 17:3 Gk.,( MONOS )

Gk.,( MONOS ):“...THE ONLY ((( ENTITY ))) IN A CLASS ; ONLY, ALONE.[…] A MARKER OF LIMITATION...”-(Pages 658-659, A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature, 3rd Edition [BDAG], 2000.)

You say: "...ENTIT-( IES )..." plural!

Yet the definition of "...ONLY..." or Gk.,( MONOS ) says:

"...ENTIT-( Y )..." singular!

As in: "...THE ONLY ((( ENTITY )))--- IN A CLASS..."

Jesus was saying the Father is:

"...IN A CLASS..." of His own!

"...((( ALONE )))..."!

"...((( YOU )))--- THE --- ONLY..."!

Notice the use of the definite article:

"...YOU ((( THEE ))) ONLY..."!
