An article in the 4-1-1999 WT asks the question - Who Molds Your Thinking? Here are some statements from it that JW's do not THINK of applying to themslves:

Can you really be sure that someone is not, in fact, molding your thinking, without your even being aware of it?

Do not become complacent & think that no one could ever influence you. Most likely it is already happening - more frequently than you might care to admit - without your even noticing.

People tend to feel that everyone else is vulnerable, but that they are not.

Lak of information can be just as lethal as misinformation.

--While there is nothing wrong with this article, the problem is that JW's are not able to apply to those they listen to - the very men deceiving them. They continue allowing their thinking to be molded by men who are themselves misled & corrupted in their thinking.

If you were trying to decieve someone would you really encourage them to be aware of such tactics?

Gareth makes perfect sense. You're looking at the picture and letting it influence you too much--see?

God cannot help JW's such as EVIL Howdy who have NO LOVE OF TRUTH. Nothing gets thru her brick wall of believing the lie that the WT is God's organization, & it never will as long as that illusionary concept holds her & any JW in captivity.

As Gareth admits, no the WT does NOT want JW's to be aware of their tactics when they deceive JW's. If you really have the truth, you have absolutely nothing to fear; only fear runs from truth, just as the WT instructs JW's to do.

Really. Here you are blatantly putting words into my mouth I have not spoken. What kind of deceptive tactic is that? Who really is the deceiver here?

Suggest you either re-read your own posts or state your words so that they are more clearly understood. I have not BLATANTLY done anything to you or put words in your mouth, but as your past posts show a tendency for over-reaction I can see how you easily lose all objectivity. The deceivers are the WT, & the deceived are JW's, in answer to your question. Read CAPTIVES OF A CONCEPT, available online, unless you're afraid of the real truth.

I do not admit this. It is clear from what I said I do not believe this. You are misreading or twisting my words.

I already replied to your post. Learn the true history of the WT, or don't, it's up to you. THEY are the ones who LIE to you.

I know the history of the WT. It is what you read into it that is colouring your view of them. You have already demonstrated a tendency to read the opposite of intentions into a clear statement.

It would seem that you are the one that reads the opposite intentions into a clear statement... you appear to have the desease that many j.w.s have..... see what your told to see desease..

I'm sure you know the WT's re-written & adjusted history which they spin so as to force it to uphold your false illusionary organization concept. WT interpretations thru the years have often become so weird & bizarre that almost any portion of the Scriptures can be used to explain almost anything that JW writers want it to, & as long as they believe that the WT is God's organization, JWs will continue to accept all of their interpretations no matter how bizarre they are. In the forward to the PROCLAIMERS book they say they 'have endeavored to be OBJECTIVE & present a CANDID history.' But the Governing Body will NOT be able to present a CANDID history of their organization until they are able to FACE a candid history of it. If as you say you have seen all sides of their history, not just the WT side, then fine. I have NOT read anything into their history; their own literature documents it & shows clearly how they contradict themselves without any need to read into what they have plainly stated for all to see. I stand by my statements that the WT continues to lie & mislead you & all JWs. Again, it is your choice, just as the one I have made is a TRULY INFORMED DECISION after consideration of ALL the evidence, not just what the WT says & mistakenly taking their word for whatever they say.

Me too. I made the same informed choice as Gareth.

Actually since you have not examined ALL the evidence with discernment, you have made an UNinformed choice. JW's sometimes need to take their own advice, for example the 3-15-1998 WT warning of the "Dangers of Following Men": "A strong leader-oriented relationship can lead to an unhealthy emotional and spiritual dependency." This however describes JW's perfectly, for they cannot even consider the possibility of worshiping God apart from 'the organization'. This is one of the factors making it difficult for them to consider leaving even when they become aware of very serious wrongs in the WT. It really takes full trust in God to stop following untrustworthy & unreliable men.

That link point to the site of a well known APOSTATE who has written a book, set himself up as a prophet and who is announcing the destruction of the Watchtower. He was disfellowshipped from the congregation some years ago.

He works hard to destroy the WT in the apparent hope this will make his 'prophecies' come true. Then he will have a ready audience of 6 million abandoned Witnesses waiting to buy his book.

This man has NOTHING to do with Jehovah or his Witnesses.
