OKLAHOMA v. STACEY GARRETT BEGAY and OKLAHOMA v. TERRY D. BEGAY were related 2011-12 Oklahoma criminal court prosecutions. In April 2011, Tahlequah, Oklahoma police rushed to the rental home of Stacey Begay and Terry Begay after neighbors heard gunfire. There, Tahlequah police discovered that Terry Begay had fired a 9mm pistol four times at her husband, Stacey Begay, and once at her own 16 year-old daughter. Neither were struck by the shots -- although four bullet holes were found in the walls, and another in a couch. Terry Begay told police that she had just returned home and discovered her husband and her daughter engaging in sexual activity. Stacey Begay, age 46, was arrested on child abuse charges, while Terry Begay, age 46, was arrested on multiple assault charges. Stacey Begay later admitted that he and his "adopted" 16 year-old daughter had been engaging in sex for about five months.
The local Okie Prosecutor dropped the assault charges against Terry Begay, and gave her immunity, in exchange for her testifying in the prosecution of Stacey Begay. However, during the September 2012 trial, Terry Begay refused to uphold her side of the bargain, and she was arrested and charged with perjury. Outcome unknown.
At the September 2012 trial of Stacey G. Begay, not only did Terry Begay refuse to testify against her husband, but Stacey Begay recanted his earlier confession, and claimed that he did not remember making the confession, and that he had signed the confession while in a "zombie state", while on unspecified "medication". Presently, not only do Stacey and Terry Begay now claim that their "adopted" daughter was lying about having had a sexual relationship with Stacey Begay, but even that "adopted daughter" has now recanted her previous statements, and says that there was no sexual relationship.
Despite such, Stacey Garratt Begay was convicted by a jury of his peers. In November 2012, Stacey G. Begay was sentenced to 30 years in prison, where he will have to serve at least 85% of the sentence. Interestingly, three members -- probably the "Elders" -- of the Tahlequah, Oklahoma Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses submitted positive "character" statements to the court on behalf of Stacey Begay. According to the pre-sentence report, Stacey G. Begay asked the court to consider his plea for parole so that "I can keep on doing Jehovah’s will."
Good grief! Another Witness family with a 9mm in the house? What is going on with these so-called Witnesses?

So Stacey Begay thought she could refuse to testify that she walked in the door and found her husband having sex with their adopted daughter?

How the elders of the congregation of these two scumbags in this sordid affair chose to involve themselves in this is way beyond my comprehension. Just disgusting!

George Benbow, pictured in this file photo, was sentenced to 11 years in prison today following a conviction in June. The former-Plainfield pastor was convicted of sexually assaulting girls in his parish summer camp.
Noah K. Murray/The Star-Ledger

PLAINFIELD— Dressed in a beige prison uniform, his hands cuffed in front of him, George Benbow bowed his head as he addressed the Elizabeth courtroom.

The words catching in his throat, the former church pastor then asked the children he was convicted of sexually assaulting to forgive him.

"I want to say to your honor, to the court, and to the children that I am so sorry for what they’ve gone through,"

Benbow, a former church pastor, said today moments before he was sentenced to 11 years in prison. "I’m just sorry from deep in my heart."

Sudbury: Jehovah’s Witness jailed for “catalogue” of sexual offences

By Jane Hunt Friday, January 27, 2012

A JEHOVAH’S Witness has been jailed for three and a half years for “a catalogue” of sexual offences on two schoolgirls more than 15 years ago.

Sentencing 40-year-old Paul Wood, formerly of Sudbury, Judge David Goodin said that not surprisingly the impact of the offences on his two victims was still affecting them.

During a trial last year Ipswich Crown Court heard that Wood had indecently touched the girls’ breasts while play-fighting with them.

One of the victims also claimed that further incidents had taken place in Wood’s car when he had got her to touch him indecently over his clothing and had touched her over her clothing

The same victim also claimed that Wood had touched her intimately on one occasion under her clothing and said he had bought her underwear he wanted her to wear.

The court heard that Wood had asked the other victim to put on his wife’s underwear after saying she no longer wore it.

The victims made allegations to the police after hearing in 2009 that Wood was taking up a role with Jehovah’s Witnesses in another part of the country that would have brought him into contact with young women.

The court heard that in 2000 the victims told Jehovah’s Witness elders in west Suffolk about what Wood had allegedly done to them but it was left to the girls to decide if they wanted to go to the police.

Andrew Thompson, prosecuting, said that as the girls did not want to go to the police nothing was done then.

Wood, who now lives in Derbyshire, was found guilty by majority verdicts of 10-2 of nine offences of indecent assault on two schoolgirls when they were aged between eight and 15. He was found not guilty of raping a third alleged victim, aged 17.

Wood denied a total of 17 offences of indecent assault, three offences of rape and one of attempted rape.

After returning guilty verdicts on the nine offences of indecent assault and a not-guilty verdict on one rape charge, the jury was discharged from returning verdicts on the remaining charges.

At yesterday’s sentencing hearing Mr Thompson offered no evidence on those charges and Judge Goodin directed not-guilty verdicts should be entered on the court record.

Wood was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and was made the subject of a sexual offences prevention order restricting his future contact with children under 18.

Steven Dyble, for Wood, said his client had not had any previous convictions for sexual offences and had not committed any further offences in the last 14 years.

He said Wood was aged between 20 and 26 at the time of the offences and claimed he had been wrongly convicted.

We know that Jehovah's Witnesses keep most of the horrible things that happen inside the KH's quiet. We were all told not to disgrace the KH or Jehovah's name by going to the police. I think that has something to do with the horrible way some Jehovah's Witnesses commit crimes when they are finally caught. If you read many of the crimes committed by witnesses, some of them are very sick.

The biggest crime committed by Jehovah's Witnesses is the one done by the Governing Body to their members. We they tell them that they must be a JW or be associated with the organization to be saved, they are actually signing these peoples death certificate. The bible does not tell us we must be part of any religion or organization to be saved, but it does tell us that believing in Jesus will save us.

John 3:36—He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

John 6:29—Jesus answered and said to them,“This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

John 6:35—And Jesus said to them,“I am the bread of life. He who comes [by faith] to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”

John 6:40—And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:47—Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

John 6:59—Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

John 7:38—He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.

John 8:24, 58—Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.... Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM."

John 9:35-38—Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him,“Do you believe in the Son of God?” He answered and said,“Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” And Jesus said to him,“You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.” Then he said,“Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him.

John 10:38—but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.

John 11:25-27—Jesus said to her,“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him,“Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

John 12:44, 45—Then Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.

John 14:11—Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

John 20:31—But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Acts 8:37—Then Philip said,“If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said,“I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

This one applies to the GB...
Mark 9:42—But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea.

Please read your bibles and see where your salvation is, it is not in any religion, or any organization on the earth, but it is with Jesus who Jehovah sent to be OUR Savior!!

BAPTIST QUOTES

“We shouldn’t enjoy this Catholic mess too much. We’re waiting on the other shoe to drop, and when it does, don’t be surprised if there is more and more within our ranks.”
Bobby Welch, prior president of Southern Baptist Convention, 2002
(Note: Why would any religious leader think there might be anything at all to “enjoy” about the “Catholic mess”???)

“I know that this has happened on multiple occasions....”
Frank Page, current president of Southern Baptist Convention, 2006

“Baptists’ disconnected system for securing ministers indirectly shields perpetrators.”
The Baptist Standard 4/22/2002, citing Sonny Spurger, associate director of minister/church relations, Baptist General Convention of Texas

Experts warn that Baptist structure "gives abusers free rein -- and makes Baptist churches unwitting accomplices to predator pastors who are recycled from one unsuspecting congregation to another."
Greg Warner, Associated Baptist Press, 6/11/2007

"The Baptist situation may be no better than the Catholic, only shielded more deeply from view."
David Gushee, professor of Christian ethics, Mercer University, 3/29/2010
“For many years, churches seemed to say to offenders,‘We won't say anything if you won't say anything, and you go on down the road.’ Consequently, churches ‘ended up passing perpetrators to other churches.’”

The Baptist Standard 4/22/2002, citing and quoting Sonny Spurger, associate director of minister/church relations, Baptist General Convention of Texas
"For years, Baptist college and seminary professors taught ministers to maintain confidentiality at all costs...to maintain silence as much as possible."
Jan Daehnert, director of minister/church relations, Baptist General Convention of Texas, 2002

"Clergy sexual abuse is a significant problem among Baptist ministers..."
The Baptist Standard, Nov. 10, 1999, citing the report of the Christian Life Commission of the Baptist General Convention of Texas
“The BGCT keeps a confidential list of individuals who are reported by a church for sexual misconduct, including child molestation....”
John Hall, The Baptist Standard, 3/3/2006

"The problem we're having is that churches just weren't sending the names. In the normal scenario, they just try to keep it secret."
Joe Trull, editor of Christian Ethics Today, 6/14/2007

“America’s largest non-Catholic flock has been hit by waves of clergy sexual abuse affecting untold numbers of women, men, teenagers and children.”
Terry Mattingly, nationally syndicated “On Religion” columnist, 2002.

“The fact is, there is no Baptist clearing house for this information – anywhere. There is no one keeper of the files, nobody out there who has the power to intervene when something goes wrong....There is no there, out there.”
Timothy Weber, former dean of Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2002.

“The problem of clergy sexual abuse is not just a Catholic issue – the problem extends to Protestant denominations as well. Studies have shown no differences in its frequency by denomination, region, theology, or institutional structure....Decentralized denominations such as the Southern Baptist Convention...have no national policies....Sexual misconduct is routinely covered up...Church officials largely have not been responsive.”
Joe Trull, editor of Christian Ethics Today & former professor at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and James E. Carter, former director of minister/church relations in the Louisiana Baptist Convention, Ministerial Ethics, 2004 at pages 162, 164.

"I deal with this matter far too often...and the cover-ups that far too often accompany it."

As everyone can see, EE has placed a quote making you all think I made it, I did not.

No religion is safe from bad things happening, Satan is still here on this old world. There are no perfect religions, but only those who claim to be perfect. I have never heard my Pastor say we are perfect, and neither is he. There may be a problem with sexual abuse among Baptist preachers, just as there is with Jehovah's witnesses Elders, Catholic Priest, and many other religions, there is not one religion that is immune from it. Should we all just stop going to church now? Of course not, Jesus told us not to forsake the gathering together of ourselves. We are living in a very wicked world and we know these things are going to go on until Jesus returns. Keep your eye on Jesus and pray for his return.

I am going to leave now and fix lunch for my loving husband who knows I am here, and why I am here. My Pastor also knows I am here and why. He told me that God uses each one of us in different ways, and this is the way he is using me. If I can help one person and plant a seed for the Lord to make grow, then I am happy for that. The time is getting late and we have no time left for wondering or second guessing. We MUST come to Jesus and give our lives over to him to be saved. He is knocking at your door, are you going to open it to him?

Remember, Jesus Loves YOU.

I didn't place it to make people think you made it. I had to remove your repeat posting of that same case in England to make room for the Baptist stuff. I even had to remove some of the Baptist stuff to make it fit.

The case you posted has already had threads and more threads on it. It is very old and has been discussed extensively, and you posted it again today. It didn't need to be reposted in my reply.

Your church is one of the most dangerous ones, according to news reports, because each pastor is like a little pope and is accountable to no one. They don't track offending pastors either, so they can just move somewhere else and set up another church and keep offending.

It is very hypocritical and un-Christian of you to spend all your days nitpicking Jehovah's Witnesses and completely ignoring the much worse problem in your church. You constantly promote that everyone should leave Jehovah's organization and constantly recommend the church you have chosen as superior to Jehovah's organization.

You should be working with the SNAP organization to stop the corruption in the church you chose.

Aaannnnd back we go on topic:

TAHLEQUAH — A Tahlequah man convicted in September of child sexual abuse was formally sentenced Thursday, despite recanting the written statement he gave investigators when he was first accused of having sex with his adopted teenage daughter.

Stacey Garrett Begay, 47, was found guilty in September by a jury that recommended he serve a 30-year sentence for the crime. District Judge Darrell Shepherd then ordered a pre-sentence investigation before Begay’s formal sentencing, which was Thursday afternoon.

The judge on Thursday formally sentenced Begay to 30 years for the felony charge, which requires him to serve at least 85 percent of the time before he is eligible for parole.

Much of the state’s case against Begay focused on a written statement he provided to Kathy Young, a domestic violence and sexual assault investigator for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. In that statement, Begay said he’d been having sex with his adopted daughter since December 2010, and described in detail how those interactions began and would progress to the girl’s bedroom.

“She made me feel good about myself,” Begay reportedly wrote in that statement.

He also detailed how the girl, who was 16 at the time, would “please” him by making dinner or baking him cookies, and said the girl didn’t criticize him.

Begay admitted he’d had sex with the girl 10 times or more, prosecutors said during the trial.

According to the pre-sentence investigation filed before Thursday’s sentencing, Begay now denies he ever had sexual contact with the girl, and takes no responsibility for any wrongdoing.

During an interview with officers of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections on Oct. 2, 2012, Begay reportedly put part of the blame on the girl, saying she “knows how to work the system.”

But he also said he believes he was under the influence of his medication when he wrote a statement for investigators and that his medications put him in a “zombie state.”

Begay said he doesn’t remember writing the statement; that he must have written what investigators told him to; and that he only remembers waking up in jail the next day, after his medication wore off.

Officers conducting the pre-sentence investigation also spoke to the victim, who is now 18. She, too, recanted her original statements and now says she never had sex with Begay.

According to the pre-sentence report, Begay asked the court to consider his plea for parole so “that I can keep on doing Jehovah’s will.” He said he attends services as a Jehovah’s Witness every Sunday and participates in theocratic ministry school on Thursdays. Three fellow congregation members who said they have known Begay for one to two years wrote the court as character witnesses for Begay.

Begay said his plan, if he had been given probation, would be to continue living in Pawnee with his wife.

The officers who prepared the pre-sentence report recommended Begay receive a sentence of incarceration based on the jury’s recommendation and receive post-incarceration supervision from the DOC.

Begay’s wife, Terry Begay, is facing felony perjury charges in Cherokee County for allegedly falsely testifying during her husband’s trial in September. She was arrested in the courtroom after jurors had gone to deliberate her husband’s case, and later pleaded not guilty.

Doesn't this bit of information just give you the warm fuzzies? A CRIMINAL....a (now) admitted child molester....desires to "do jehovah's will". Talk about a contradiction in terms! THINK about the whole picture and how ludicrous this all is.

Think too....about the fact that circumstances and scenarios like this unfolding drama....are not as uncommon as people may feel they are....it is more than likely that there are countless more of these cases that are on the horizon to be brought to light...and countless MORE victims of JW's pedophile's crimes to be revealed in the days to come.

The fellow KH members who wrote those statements to the court.... are clearly NOT demonstrating "the spirit of sound mind" that GB followers claim to have possession of.

PLEASE take this to heart and DO NOT ALLOW any WTS reps onto your property or engage in any conversation with them on your doorstep. Out of two JWs standing there....one MAY VERY WELL BE involved in criminal behavior with a child. Do you REALLY WANT to "discuss the bible" or try to be talked into joining this cult with a person like Begay?

Wife shoots at husband, daughter
Father admits to sex with daughter, wife fired gun after finding them together, investigators say

By D.E. Smoot
Phoenix Staff Writer

Allegations of sexual abuse and the discharge of a firearm landed a Cherokee County couple in jail after the wife found her husband and teenage daughter in a compromising situation.

Cherokee County law enforcers learned of the alleged sexual abuse Thursday after responding to reports of domestic violence at a home southwest of Tahlequah.

Deputy Preston Oosahwee said he learned upon his arrival that Terry Begay, 45, had fired four rounds from a 9 mm pistol at her husband and another round at the couple’s daughter. No injuries were reported.

The shots, according to reports, allegedly were fired during an argument that erupted after Begay found Stacey Begay, 46, hiding behind a door in their daughter’s bedroom, clad only in a shirt and socks.

According to a report released Tuesday by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Terry Begay told investigators she heard laughter coming from her daughter’s bedroom when she arrived home Thursday afternoon.

Upon further investigation, Begay told police, she found her daughter in bed and wearing only a shirt. Her husband, she said, was hiding behind a door. At some point, according to an investigator’s report, Begay got the pistol and began shooting.

Oosahwee said he found four bullet holes in the east wall of the home and four spent casings. A fifth bullet hole was found in a couch. The fifth casing was found near the front door.

A report filed by Kathryn Young, an investigator with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, states Stacey Begay told authorities he had been having sex with his teenage daughter since December. Young’s report also states Terry Begay remembered hearing a gunshot but couldn’t remember when or how she got the pistol.

Stacey Begay was being held Tuesday in lieu of a $15,000 bond in Cherokee County Detention Center on a complaint of sexually abusing a child. Terry Begay was released from jail Monday after posting a $30,000 bond on two complaints of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

The district attorney’s office received the report Tuesday. Prosecutors were busy with jury trials and unavailable for comment.
