I was discussing the term used to refer to Christians and Jews. Koran and Sunnah always referred to them as the People of the book while they referred to the disbelievers of Quraish, prophet's, peace be upon him ,tribe as kuffar Quraish, but you're correct. we believe any one who doesn't follow Islam ,whether the people of the book or other Kaffir is not accepted .So the word Kaffir is general for any one who is not Muslim.
