'To stop Islamist violence over perceived insults to Muhammad, I argued in a FoxNews.com article on Friday, editors and producers daily should display cartoons of Muhammad "until the Islamists get used to the fact that we turn sacred cows into hamburger."

This appeal prompted a solemn reply from Sheila Musaji of The American Muslim website, who deemed it "irresponsible and beyond the pale." Why so? Because, as she puts it, "The solution to escalating violence and hate speech is not more hate speech."

Islamists want to remove a marble frieze in the U.S. Supreme Court building that dates from the 1930s and depicts Muhammad as a lawgiver.
That sounds sensible enough. But does mocking Muhammad, burning a Koran, or calling Islam a cult constitute hate speech? And what about the respectful representations of Muhammad in the buildings of the U.S. Supreme Court or the New York State Supreme Court? Even they caused upset and rioting.'

Hi Trisha. Nice post. You are exactly correct. It isnt hateful to mock the paedo muhammed. He was an alcoholic delusionary, so I cant really understand why anyone would set any store by his ramblings. islam is, and always has been, a strange collective. As Salam Rushdie put it......how can islam behave this way and call itelf a religion of peace.....and that was back in 1989.

A good post. Islamic hadiths state that Mohamed's baby wife Aisha was behind his death- i.e.-She poisoned him. When his own wife has so much hatred towards him, why Muslims get so cranky about a film by a mad man? Muslims still venerate Aisha as the mother of Islam.

You fools just have to lay off the crack, you have become mindless zombies.
Mocking Mohammad is not hate speech, are you really that stupid?

I think why my western amigos are having problems understanding why people get upset with this hate speech is because our western morals have dropped so low that nothing is sacred anymore.

Hell YES!!!!! My western morals have certainly dipped well below the line. I was thinking about that today, whilst devouring (vigorously I might add) my Bacon sandwich. So, then I went about my usual day (usual for a westerner with low moral standards that is). I began the day with a prayer or two, then I told my wife to get dressed and go and do some shopping. You wouldnt believe what she wore - or rather - what she thought she was going to wear. Any way, I gave her a good slapping and beat her with a stick and she soon chose a more modest attire. Then I made my son read from the holy book. Of course, he had trouble with the pronunciation, so I beat him too. Then I went out and strutted up and down the high street, looking down my nose at the faithless fools who were passing by. After that, I went to a stoning, and hurled a few decent sized rocks at a young whore (my sister actually) who dared to become pregnant after she was raped by our uncle. Once the angry mob had stoned her to death, we all went off to prayer and thanked the lord for giving strength to our throwing arms and helping us to stay on target. Then, We all gathered in the town square to watch the hanging of two gay men. After that we all had a cup of tea and by then, it was time to go home. Phew,... what a day!!!!
Whoops....sorry, silly me. That wasnt MY day....it was a day in the life of an islamic. F**k that for a laugh. Im going for another bacon sandwich, then Im going to piddle in the imams pocket and tell him its raining.

Pakistanis celebrate "Love the Prophet day"

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/asia/2...618263... Bonus: must see video of reporter with epic speech impediment

Reports say at least 20 people have died as demonstrations against an anti-Islam video erupted across Pakistan, a day after protesters tried to storm the US embassy in the capital, Islamabad.

Tens of thousands of Pakistanis took to the streets across the country after the government called an impromptu public holiday to let people protest under the banner of "Love the Prophet Day".

In Karachi, armed protesters among a group of 15,000 fired on police, killing two officers, as at least 10 protesters died in the violence. The crowd also burned six cinemas, two banks, a KFC and five police vehicles.

Crowds armed with clubs and bamboo poles converged on the Firdaus picture house, "smashing it up and setting furniture ablaze", according to Gohar Ali, a police officer.

Witnesses said a separate rampaging crowd stormed the Shama cinema, notorious locally for showing films considered to be pornographic.

In the Pakistani city of Peshawar, police fired on rioters who were torching a cinema. Mohammad Amir, a driver for a Pakistani television station, was killed when police bullets hit his vehicle at the scene, said Kashif Mahmood, a reporter for ARY TV.

At least four protesters and one police officer were killed in the northwestern city, along with 40 injured and two cinemas and two shops torched.

In the capital Islamabad, some 19 protesters and eight police were injured. And in Lahore, at least five protesters were wounded.

Police on alert

"They do not want this anti-Islam video to be supported by the United States," said Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder, reporting from Islamabad.

"Despite the fact that the American president has said that they have got nothing to do with it, the people here are very angry."

Al Jazeera's Rosiland Jordan reports on growing US concern

"The people want the government to be able to launch a protest, and they are saying they will not go home unless they get to the US embassy."
