There are conflicting reports of the child's age.
The Daily Mail is stating she was "believed to be around 15-years-old," while Muslim Women News is reporting she was 14.
The teen victim was completely beheaded with a knife in the tribal Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province of northern Afghanistan.
According to reports, both Gisa and her parents refused marriage proposals from two seperate men, reportedly "understood to be close relatives of the victim that live in the same village," presumably closely related cousins.
Both men, identified only as Sadeq and Massoud have been arrested and are still in police custody.
According to the preliminary investigation, it's suspected that Gisa was "attacked as she returned to her home in Kulkul village after going out to collect water from a nearby well."
As cited by the news portal Muslim Women News, a similar sexual-based beheading recently took place in Afghanistan's western and often lawless Herat province;
"Last month, a 20-year-old Afghan woman was beheaded in Herat Province, reportedly for refusing to work as a prostitute.
Four suspects, including the victim's husband and in-laws, were arrested for that killing."
