Noam Chomsky: What needs to be done has been clear for decades
A PRAYER FOR PALESTINE FROM A JEW:Let us help them to create something extraordinary, just as we have for ourselves-it is in our best interest to do so! Let us help them to build a home they will love with all their hearts,as we love Israel with all of ours.! Let's teach each other how to win non-zero sum games. We are both great nations-let us never forget this!Let us nurture peace with both our enemies and our friends, and recognize that they are a mirror...reflecting light unto the nations

Noam Chomsky: Reflections on a lifetime of engagement with Zionism, the Palestine Question, and American Empire
What is perhaps most striking about Noam Chomsky is his consistency. Over the course of more than half a century of political activism, accompanied by a ceaseless output of books and articles as well as innumerable talks and interviews, he has—to the best of my knowledge—never changed his mind on a significant issue. This is all the more impressive when considering the astounding range of his political interests, which span the globe geographically as well as thematically.

I didn't read much of Chomsky, but I enjoyed reading what I did. They are so articulate, he makes me think he is very, very intelligent.

I believe Chomsky is also considered an atheist; he is so articulate. I know I would probably enjoy working for him.:-) maybe.(That's not a very definite statement, but I think I would like him as a person, even though yes, I would hope he would "see the light" someday.) Despite his good intentions, only God can solve mankind's problems.

He is an idealist, but unfortunately that isn't going to solve mankind's problems. History testifies to that. Mankind's governments cannot solve mankind's problems. It makes sense when Jeremiah wrote that it not BELONG to man to conduct his own footsteps.

Notice what Jeremiah said. Jeremiah chapter 10:
"I know, O Lord, that a man’s life is not his own;
it is not for man to direct his steps." Chapter 10 is worth reading.

We are not made to do our own thing When we follow God's direction, we will be happy and enjoy a better life. Also, in that case of listening to God, we can look forward to a happy future. The bookstores are filled with self-help books. I have found none of them leads to real happiness. But learning about God and having a relationship with Him brings us to a fulfilling life now and for the future. I hope this helps explain in part what Jeremiah meant when he declared that "I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps." (Jeremiah 10:23)

On Israel, Lebanon and Palestine
Noam Chomsky interviewed by Kaveh Afrasiabi
Do you agree with the argument that Israel's military offensive in Lebanon is "legally and morally justified?"
Noam Chomsky: The invasion itself is a serious breach of international law, and major war crimes are being committed as it proceeds. There is no legal justification.

The "moral justification" is supposed to be that capturing soldiers in a cross-border raid, and killing others, is an outrageous crime. We know, for certain, that Israel, the United States and other Western governments, as well as the mainstream of articulate Western opinion, do not believe a word of that. Sufficient evidence is their tolerance for many years of US-backed Israeli crimes in Lebanon, including four invasions before this one, occupation in violation of Security Council orders for 22 years, and regular killings and abductions. To mention just one question that every journal should be answering: When did Nasrallah assume a leadership role? Answer: When the Rabin government escalated its crimes in Lebanon, murdering Sheikh Abbas Mussawi and his wife and child with missiles fired from a US helicopter. Nasrallah was chosen as his successor. Only one of innumerable cases. There is, after all, a good reason why last February, 70% of Lebanese called for the capture of Israeli soldiers for prisoner exchange.

I believe in the power of prayer. If you ask God who He is, He is capable of revealing Himself to you. Jesus said to keep asking, and it will be given to you. The Bible offers wonderful thoughts and promises for the future, as well as how to live a life now that is pleasing to God. People have innumerable concepts about God. But the Bible describes God as a Creator with intelligence. Not some mass abstract force. I'm going to be brief, and so I will draw your attention to one thought from the Bible:(from Isaiah chapter 40)

“To whom will you compare me?
Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
Lift your eyes and look to the heavens:
Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one,
and calls them each by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing."

Since God created the stars, even calling them by name, He is capable of hearing your prayer and answering it. I am going to pray for you, too, that He leads you in the way of righteousness and to the truth about Him.
