My story is not one of those amazingly interesting ones you hear from some converts...>.< It is very simple actually. After looking into it and reading a few books, i was convinced i wanted to be a muslim. I had looked at other religions as well, but it was the most logical and the most believable for me. It seemed very loving and forgiving and i liked how i wasnt being condemned for the "original sin" my whole life -.-, then ramadan was starting and i wanted to try fasting, so i just converted the night before ramadan in my bedroom xD. I had books to show me how to pray already, so i just read the books until i got the hang of it and then i learnt a few of the short surah's Ihklaas, Naas and Falaq just so i could change my prayer up a bit. Then i went a retreat in milton keynes at the end of ramadan which was about the journey of a new muslim, it was amazing because at the time i couldnt afford it on my pay as it was 200 pounds so i couldnt go. I remember making du'a about how much i wanted to go and for Allah to help me go and the next day the man in charge called me and said to me i could have a free ticket. Then i felt like Allah wanted me to go for some reason, when i went i learnt so much and i had a massive imaan boost especially being around all the sisters it was so lovely. It was the first time i had worn hijab on a daily basis for the whole day and whole week, which was lovely as well. Because i had that massive imaan boost i had immediately decided that i wanted to wear hijab permenantly but at the time i had no hijabi friendly clothing :p so when i went home i went out how i normally would and that was when i had my horrible realisation experience and now :D i have not taken my hijab off since the end of september i believe. For me it is fun, another thing to incorporate into an outfit =).

It was a shame though because at the time i wasnt aware of the night prayers at ramadan, so can you imagine i missed A WHOLE MONTH =( ALL THAT REWARD...good God. Insha'Allah if i am still alive this on coming ramadan, i will be able to do them =) and give zakat and all the works. This ramadan, my aim is to not eat so much at iftar lol >.<. I suppose i saw it as a mini feast and a "im not going to eat until 24 hours so stock up" sorta thing xD and also this ramadan insha'Allah i hope to read at least 20 minutes of Qur'an a day. I am publically announcing it because then i may be more likely to do it. Oh and this ramadan i am going to work out, if i say that my intention is to keep fit for Hajj jihad, then Insha'Allah Allah will make it easy and painless lol. What about you, do you have any things you want to improve on for the ramadan coming up?=D
