Wrong. The sun is going to expand and become a red giant. Then Earth will be too hot for any kind of life. Actually may be the sun will expand enough to gobble up Earth. This is going to happen in 5 - 6 billion years.

Also if ppl did some research .. it actually means the end of one era and the new beginning of another one.

Considering that this calendar came into existance and most of the world actually uses it (via once again scientific and mathematically equations)... who knows what will happen.

So many others have predicated the end of the world... yes 31/12/99 ... and other doomsday stuff.. the only way to find out is on the actual day.

Maybe it is the begining of WW3??? who knows... just live life and enjoy it.. thats all.

AtheistOZ you are right, there is no need to worry, it will either never happen in our lifetimes or if it does then we're all in the same boat, there is nothing we can do about it as everyone on Earth will perish anyway. So, ce la vie.

The bible tells us that God has a time set aside, and not even the angels in heaven are told that time, so, what makes one think that if God is keeping the time a secret that we would know it is going to be 2012?
This is all hype,...it is similar to the yr 2000 analog computer scare. The old analog computers could not go past 1999...so everyone thought that everything would collapse...it did not...
Sanme thing here, the mayans, made a calander...they did not make it go any further than 2012....not a problem...that is as far as they wanted to go.
