So you're only concerned because it concerns America. Thanks.

I agree with the last paragraph. And no, they aren't brothers of mine. Lol.

they hurt more muslims than americans. They hurt people regardless of their race, age and religion. They're scum.

I'm a mother, wife..of course I care about those I am most concerned about. My family, my country.

Those are noble and normal convictions.

You think you are better than I?

I'm a father to my son and daughter, husband to my wife, a son to my parents, a brother to my brothers and sisters, a friend to friends, love my family and my country.

And that is not exhaustive. I love many other people of different countries and I respect them. I do not do anything that may hurt them, as I understand their religions, customs and cultures.

You do not. Hence, I can proudly say loudly that I am better than you and many of your compatriots.

I have also many friends, who are your compatriots and I find them better than you.

The problem with you and those like you is, that they have closed minds and are not receptive to any explanations.

They live in their own big cocoon and cannot see past through the opaque shell they live in and also, they cannot see past through their noses or beyond their noses.

Ninety percent of Muslims are clean-shaven, including yours truly. We play music, sing, dance and watch movies and videos. Do you think only Americans or Westerners can?

Yours truly watches this almost everyday as it is my favorite video clip. Mark Alizee's words, when she mentions that she is fed up of the whiners, are obsessed, hypocrites, etc. I am fed up too.

Now, don't tell me that I am not a Muslim. lol!

#2 "Beards are not compulsory in Islam. May be a fashion
and personal liking."
no. allah said: do not change what allah created. this mean that adult men should have beard if it grows. and people should not shave it and make it like it does not grow.
#9 "There was even a fake beard business going. Young men were harrased if their beards weren't lon enough. "
if this is true. i do not believe. this is not correct to make fake beard because allah said: be far from lie. young men should not be harrassed of course, because beard do not grow to some young enough men...

The problem with you polemic Barbie guys, can be explained even to a 3rd Grader in the following manner:
Note: BG stands for Barbie Guys and M stands for Muslims
BG: Hello, Muslim! Is it compulsory to have a beard for a Muslim?
M: Oh, Yes! Beard is compulsory.
BG: Why do you need to grow a big beard? You look like an animal.
(Here the BG forgets the beards of those whom he/she loves and defends)

(Face barely visible in the last pic. See how the ear and nose stand out!
M: Did you see the beards I showed you.
BG: But, but ....
M: No buts. OK?
BG meets another Muslim:Hello, Muslim! Is it compulsory to have a beard for a Muslim?
M: No, BG. That is not necessary.
BG starts whining and ranting and says: Muslim, You are a cultural Muslim.
M: LMAO!

to #52 :
"don't cut down trees" - they should not be cut just for that some people think it is beautiful and should not be cut while they are too young and can grow larger, these apply to natural trees, if trees are planted by men may be cutting to make them do not bother each other is some correct but more correct is to let them grow naturally and plant them as natural way as men able.
"don't build buildings" - indeed, attempt covering buildings with plants or locate them underground look good, but why not build, why this is not as god made you think there are mountains like buildings.
"don't cut your hair" - yes, do not cut to 0 centimeters long, but cut it time to time so that it is not too long.
"don't pierce your ears" - yes, this is correct.
"don't wear makeup" - yes, this is correct, and also in some cases it is lie, for that also prohibited.

The beard situation was on TV. Afghanis were interviewed about the nonsense they had endured under the Taliban.

The Afghans have been like that for centuries even before the first Taleban appeared.

There was even no need to discuss on the Television.

so have we all decided that ' islam is what non-muslims think it isn't and islam isn't what non-muslims think it is and even if non-muslims quote the words of a muslim saying what islam is or isn't according to the muslim, it isn't because the golden rule is the non-muslim is always wrong '

I just have to share this image with you guys, it made me wtf! LOL

http://fosta.typepad.com/sleepinginmyhead/ima...

Now, regarding the topic about beards. Although both BMZ and Cairene have explained it very well, I have more to add. No the Qur'an does not state the growing of beards as being mandatory. Men do not grow a beard because it is like hijab LOL! The only commandments which people always argue about are the ones in hadith. Such as Music and the beards. If it was in the Qur'an, there would be nothing to argue. With that being said, not all of our Prophets sayings were said to be applied for all times and all places, especially the ones that have to deal with our personal level.

This specific saying in the ahadith was to solve a problem during Muhammad's time. He ordered the Muslims to grow their beard and cut their moustaches so that they would look different than the pagans. There's more knowledge about why the prophet made such an order. However, I'll just keep it at that. Therefore, we can see that the beard is not mandatory TODAY because it was commanded to solve and issue 1400 YEARS AGO. But hey if you want to grow a beard, go ahead. LMAO, like the dude in that pic if you want to go to his extremes.

Importance of the Beard in the words of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam):

(1) Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said "I have no connection iwth one who shaves, shouts and tears his clothing eg. in grief or affication."
- Reported by Abu Darda (R.A.) in Muslim, Hadith no. 501

(2) The teachings of Hadhrat Ammar Bin Yaasir, Abdullah Ibn Umar, Sayyidina Umar, Abu Hurairah and Jaabir (R.A.), indicate that ALL used to keep beards that were one fist length or more. Hadhrat Jaabir (R.A.) had said: "We used to grow long beards and only during Hajj and Umrah did we trim them to the required length (i.e. fist length)."

(3) Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Umar (R.A.) relates that: "He who imitates the kuffar (non-believers) and dies in that state, he will be raised up with them on the Day of Qiyamat (Judgement)."

(4) Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) says: "Trim closely the moustache, and let the beard flow (Grow)."
- Narrated Ibn Umar (R.A.) in Muslim, Hadith no. 498

(5) "Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ordered us to trim the moustache closely and spare the beard" says Ibn Umar.
- Muslim, Hadith no. 449

(6) Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)said: "Act against contrary to the polythesists, trim closely the moustache and grow the beard."
- Reported by Ibn Umar (R.A.) in Muslim, Hadith no. 500

(7) Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said "Trim closely the moustache and grow the beard."
- Reported by Abu Hurairah (R.A.) in Muslim, Hadith no. 501

(8) Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: "Anyone who shaves has no claim to the mercy of Allah"
- Reported by Ibn Abbas (R.A.) in Tibrabi

(9) Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Umar (R.A.) used to cut that portion (which exceeds the grip of the hand) of the beard.
