The Palestinian right of return is a political position or principle asserting that Palestinian refugees, both first-generation refugees and their descendants, have a right to return to the property they left or which they were forced to leave in the former British Mandate of Palestine (currently Israel and Palestinian territories), as part of the 1948 Palestinian exodus, a result of the 1948 Palestine War and due to the 1967 Six-Day war.

Proponents of the right of return hold that it is an inalienable and basic human right, whose applicability both generally and specifically to the Palestinians is protected under international law. This view holds that those who opt not to return or for whom return is not feasible, should receive compensation in lieu..

If they can't return to the "exact " properties, i have no problems with the Governments compensating them. The same discussion is going on in Europe with the lands and border changes that exchanged hands after the second world war.

Isreal also has rights under that same law: the right to exist, yet pals from gaza shoot rockets into it every day regardless.

Forget it! They have no such right! Actually about 700,000 so-called Palestinians (really Arabs) left voluntarily upon the belief that Israel would be destroyed by the Arab League nations but it never happened. This is the typical crap Arabs pull. They'll start the war and when they lose they cry foul. The same thing happened in 1967 when Arabs were preparing to attempt another invasion of Israel. But Israel won and took control of the Gaza strip, Golan Heights, and West Bank. Immediately thereafter, Arabs cried foul again claiming Israel was an occupier.

Forget about Palestinians ever being given a right of return--those who insist on demanding it are living a pipe dream. TOUGH!

Then how about it if Arab countries compensate the Jew they threw out of Arab countries, while others were forced to leave due to persecution from 1948 into the 1960. The Arabs stole Jewish land and real estate estimated to be 100,000 sq. kilometers, which is equal to 5 times the size of the State of Israel. So if there's going to be compensation, it must go both ways. What's fair, is fair--Right?!

Again, this subject is one that Arabs would like to forget and at the very least ignore.

The Jewish Militias:
Haganah: official militia of the Jewish community in Palestine (the Yishuv); led by David Ben-Gurion, who became Israel's first Prime Minister; became the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) after Israel declared statehood on May 14, 1948.
Irgun (full name: Irgun Zvai Leumi, or IZL): "unofficial" militia headed by Menachem Begin. Undertook terrorist acts that the Haganah wouldn't.
Palmach: the attack troops of the Haganah.
Stern Gang (formal name: Lohamei Herut Yisrael, or Fighters for the Freedom of Israel; often referred to by its abbreviation LEHI): splinter from, and even more extreme than, the Irgun. Yitzhak Shamir, the groups's operations commander, later became Prime Minister of Israel.

These are the events which brought the Arabs to arms against the imported cloned Jews from Europe.
Irgun launched a series of attacks which lasted until the beginning of World War II. All told, Irgun attacks against Arab targets resulted in at least 250 Arab deaths during this period. Following is a list of attacks resulting in death attributed to Irgun that took place during the 1930s. The Irgun conducted at least 60 operations altogether during this period.

The 1948 Massacre at Deir Yassin Revisited.
.
Between 9 and 11 April 1948, over 100 Arab townspeople were massacred by Jewish paramilitaries in Deir Yassin near Jerusalem in the British Mandate of Palestine. The incident was pivotal in modern Middle East history, becoming in one Israeli historian's words, "a landmark in the chronicles of the Israel-Arab conflict and a symbol of the horrors of war." It greatly stimulated Palestinian Arab refugee flight and appears to have been critical in the final decision of the Arab states to intervene directly in Palestine in 1948 to thwart the creation of the state of Israel. The Deir Yassin incident, therefore, is intimately connected to the two main issues that have defined the Arab-Israeli conflict: the armed hostility to Israel by the Arab states and the enduring Palestinian refugee issue.

Sorry loser, YOU are wrong!!

Arabs voluntarily left because they were falsely led to believe that the Israelis massacred Arabs in Deir Yassin at the hands of the Irgun and Lehi. Today, the Arabs still lie about alleged massacres and Israelis victimizing Palestinians.

Before Israel's War of Independence in 1948, Arab League Secretary, Azam Pasha, proudly proclaimed regarding the impending war,"[t]his will be a war of extermination and a momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Mongolian massacres and the crusades." So, while you speak of Arabs being in fear of their lives over a fictitious massacre, however, the real massacre that was about to happen unless the Jews defended themselves was an all out massacre of Jews.

So, stop with you propaganda nonsense. The facts not only show that Palestinians left voluntarily, but that they left because of a false belief that the Jews were about to massacre them, which was the fault of Arab propaganda. Moreover, the fact that the Arab coalition openly declared that it intended to massacre Jews added to the fear and chaos that ensued. So the truth is that Arabs precipitated the Arab exodus.

The government of Israel regards the claim as a Palestinian ambit claim, and does not view the admission of Palestinian refugees to their former homes in Israel as a right, but rather as a political claim to be resolved as part of a final peace settleme

In June 1948, the Israeli government stated its position, which was reiterated in a letter to the United Nations on 2 August 1949, that in its view a solution to the Palestinian refugee problem must be sought, not through the return of the refugees to Israel, but through the resettlement of the Palestinian Arab refugee population in other states
