'Even minorities living in Pakistan cannot blaspheme against the holy Prophet , hence I appeal to religious leaders of every shade of religious persuasion to stop their demonstrations after clear assurances from Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani that no amendment is being made in the blasphemy law,' Altaf said while talking to an assembly of MQM ...

I'm a Briton who has lived in China and just briefly visited India (three days in Delhi). Knowing little about India, and knowing well from two years in the PRC how difficult it is to generalize about vast and complex societies, I'll stick to first impressions regarding the big comparison.
I was shocked at Delhi. Despite all I have read about the Indian tiger, it looked to me as though nothing new had been built there since 1947, apart from the 3-line metro. No supermarkets, no retail chains, no convenience stores, not enough air conditioning, power cuts, tepid hot water, battered buses, rubble roads, a dead dog on crumbling Connaught circle (a prestige address) the eternal cows everywhere .. and half the population seemed to be living by taxi/rickshaw driving or street hawking.
Two years ago I was in Shanghai, which still has many of the problems of Delhi (slums, beggary and filth to name three) but has one foot firmly in the first world now. Hangzhou, further inland, is a completely modern city, comparable in infrastructure and housing terms with much of Europe, though wages remain low.
In Delhi I saw real China-style development in one place, the suburb Gurgaon, which looked like 1990s Shenzhen.
Based on this superficial curious tourist's view, I would say that India is at least 10 years behind China in infrastructure, which I think is the key--more than FDI and exports--to China's success. Anyway, I wish the Indians well. I'd love to read what others who know both countries well have to say.
Plethora of posts under various IDs do not fool anyone. ISI paid one is busy! Most knowledgeable Indians accept fact of China having had greater economic progress. I note them discussing everyday on Indian discussion channels. So?

I had gone to Makkah / Medina for 10 days, now I have come back and trying to re-join the threads.
Let us restart our discussion on 9/11 events.
1 Problem with events like 9/11 is that people deal on these issues more on emotional level than logical.
2 At the "back of their minds" they have already "pinpointed and convicted" those responsible for the accidents. All these discussions are "for show only".
3 This is not a correct way, when we discuss and analyze issues, we should clear our minds out of any pre-bias.
We should analyze the facts only based on reason and logic and then reach our decision, irrespective of what "main line media" says or what "CIA / FBI" thinks.
4. So let us try to once more analyze the strange events of 9/11 and so many oddities that happened on that day.
A1: Meticulous Long Duration Planning
5. If you listen to media and experts, Al Qaeda was planning for 9/11 for many years.
They got their operatives trained on flying planes…..they made their secret plans and took entire USA and world by surprise when they did it on Monday 11th September 2001.
6. It is obvious when some one is planning for an operation for so many years, he will not leave things to "chance" and "wish" people will not come to know about it or people will behave in a particular manner.
They make plan and they make it as fool proof as they can. Then failure and success of plan, depends on how it is executed.
Now I will point out some of "strange things" that happened on 9/11, which no one can explain and no one knows, how they happened.
You might explain, each of them, but the "probability" that each of them became true on that particular day, becomes dimmer and dimmer.
Oh no! OH MUQ! Conspiracy theorists should watch Al Jazeera clip of Osama Bin Laden admitting to the atrocity.

Almost every river in India is polluted because human corpses are dumped into them by thousands.
If you commit "crime against nature", nature will take its revenge on you.
The "Most natural way" to do away with a human body is to "bury it into the ground"....
Doing any other way (like burning it, or throwing it in river and / or throwing their remains in ponds and rivers etc) is a crime against nature and its ill effects are getting visible.
As India's population keep on increasing the problem will get more serious year after year.
Let us wait and see when Govt. makes it "Compulsory" to bury every human body.
Seeing you are an engineer ,you could built small gas powered portable crematoriums that could provide both the burning ritual as well as supplying the persons family with their ashes to keep.
If this doesn't clean up the Ganges ,nothing will.

Welcome back. Your posts were highly missed by me and also the bastard gang of Hindus. I kept them busy as we went through, together, the private moments of their mothers and sisters and of course their gai, bakris etc etc.

I am not sure that this is not the first time you have been to Mecca / Medinah? Do tell me if you had any divine intervention at any point of time or want to share any experience. Do address it to me so that you do not invite pissed off comments from the sums.

Muq bhai? This is your "khoobi" ! What a fantastic reply you have given to Mr Number four's blind and lopsided support for India. Indians are not only dumping corpses in Ganges and other rivers but they are purposely stuffing dead man's ashes in to it so that no one can escape the pollution. Every river of India is now officially called a sewer. Like every Hindu can now be called a Soowar.

I completely agree with you on this one. Buying a dead body is the most effective way of disposing it off. Maggots break the dead body in to mud - so it is back to mud - mother nature accepts the bodies back in a graceful way.
