The very nature of religion and its followers is totally the opposite to science. Science is based on facts, religion is based on faith. Polar opposites. You can't even pay your alimony deabeat dad-

Jesus chose to lay his life down after he was born because he had free will just as we all have. The reason he was able to take his life back up was that he didn't sin and death was unable to contain him. If he had sinned he would still be in the grave to this very day. So was Jesus lying when He said "I saw Satan fall from Heaven like lightning.'?

CantHideTheTruth wrote: <quoted text> I do acknowledge your belief and that is the basis of my questions. You read the bible daily, it has a finite number of pages and words yet the meaning or interpretation keeps changing, is that because you feel that question asked of you make you find answers from your bible that really dont exist in a form that you can relate without embellishment and manipulation, for example the prophecies? Do the prophecies mention space travel, landing on the moon, landing on mars, probes leaving our solar system? In other words behaviour beyond human conflict and biblical ambiguity? The bible deals with God's relationship to us and how he deals with our constant rebellion against him. Nearly 3,500 years ago, the Bible correctly noted that the earth has no visible support and that it was a sphere, a fact that is in harmony with the more recently understood laws of gravity and motion. "How Job knew the truth," said one scholar, "is a question not easily solved by those who deny the inspiration of Holy Scripture." There are many other examples including what will happen in relation to the middle east. These prophecies are currently in play in our time and yet they were prophecized thousands of years ago. No one but God would know these things

John 8:57-58 "You are not yet fifty years old," the Jews said to him, "and you have seen Abraham!" "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"

Sheilaa sect needs little fine tuning and I will propose they join the OIC. A religion should have do and don't( actions) plus believe (faith) in one god and his messengers for a good life and good after life.A just God must reward the good and punish the wrong doer . Common sense. An all foregiving religion that oes not reward the good and punish the wrong ad sinners does not bode well for a harmonius life. Their shoud be carrot and sticks . Going one a week to worship and oc in a while confess your sin to another man and thengo about sinning and have a claim on God mercy is very childish And 'good' muslims should then ignore the bad islamic teachings that 'bad' muslims embrace...

BraveCon wrote: <quoted text> So was Jesus lying when He said "I saw Satan fall from Heaven like lightning.'? The term "falling from heaven" is a Near Eastern way of saying that someone has suffered defeat, and it was also used in ancient non-biblical literature to describe the fall of gods from power In relation to "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven" Luke 10:18, Jesus was referring to how Satan had been defeated when Jesus sent out 72 disciples on a successful mission.

According to Diogenes Laertius, "[ Pythagoras ] was the first [Greek] who called the earth round; though Theophrastus attributes this to Parmenides, and Zeno to Hesiod." It was thought by Aristotle and Plato but still can't remember her name.. @Faith, do something useful. Find it! Not remembering her name actually makes me crazy..
