Just a decade ago we were told that if the Gospel of Jesus Christ was replaced with a new faith of tolerance and inclusiveness our ranks would swell. It has not happened. We were assured that if we accepted Jesus as one way to God, but not unique, the world would understand how enlightened we had become and our numbers would increase. They have not ...

from virtueonline:

"Jeffery Lord in his recent article 'The Perfect Storm of Liberalism' cites reasons for the numerous scandals plaguing government agencies. It results from decades of obedience to political correctness, addiction to lawsuits, and long abandoned standards of personal behavior. He could be describing the current Episcopal Church.

"Our leadership is no longer capable of acting on truth even when it is recognized. Just as conservatism without compassion leads to Pharisaism, liberalism without a moral anchor becomes Nominalism. In the attempt to embrace everything The Episcopal Church finds itself standing for nothing ..."

Joseph DeCaro stands for a lot more than MiddleWay will ever understand.

Jesus gave his own opinion of trying to walk the middle way in the Revelation of St. John the Divine -- since you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew you out of my mouth.

You're nothing.

You know nothing and you believe in nothing.

Bring out David Virtue's trash, I think it's hysterical, just as you are and your merry band of bigots.

You couldn't be more clueless about my screen name if you tried.

Of course, it takes a member of TEC (the name of this forum) to understand it.

You, on the other hand spew anyway.......

I was just using your screen name to make a pun and a point. Reading your posts, I know that you are far from the middle. So don't get all uptight and bothered. Obviously, Jesus' point is that there is no middle when it comes to Him and His Word.

Middle way and lukewarm are not the same.

I appreciate that you understand that I am passionate about living a Christian life.

Have you decided to discuss now?

I sure prefer that, we both might learn from each other....

Or we could be talking contemporary American social mores or politics. Yep on one side we have Newt Gingrich and the other John Edwards. Tweedledum and Tweedledee are still Tweedledum and Tweedledee in any case.
