Church could lose property

There are 12 comments on the The Tennessean story from Aug 23, 2012, titled Church could lose property. In it, The Tennessean reports that:

What if I told you that a church purchased a piece of property more than 40 years ago, obtained a deed free and clear, demolished old buildings and built new ones with its own money — and then that property was confiscated from the same church when it had the courage to stand up for its principles?

You would probably tell me that this could not happen in America. You might say that if it did, it could not happen here in Tennessee. You would most certainly tell me that fellow Christians would not act this way. But that is exactly what is going to happen to St. Andrew’s Church in Nashville if the Tennessee Supreme Court does not review a lower appellate court’s decision ...

from The Tennessean"

"By 2006, the Episcopal Church in the United States became a very uncomfortable place for an Anglo-Catholic church like St. Andrew’s to call home. Our members unanimously decided to begin a new relationship with the Diocese of Quincy in Illinois. Three years later, the Diocese of Tennessee chose to sue St. Andrew’s ...

"While St. Andrew’s will continue to remind the courts of the actions of Bishop Vander Horst, Father Conly and others back in the 1960s, it ultimately just wants to have its day in court. No matter what ultimately happens, though, St. Andrew’s will continue to worship as a church, with or without the property it bought.

Joe is one of those people that think the church is alabout numbers and property. Christ Jesus had a different view on the subject.

Luke 18:21-23

21 “All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said.

22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him,“You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

23 When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was very wealthy.

That is because TEC is licking its chops for screw the living daylights out of any conservative church that will bow kneel before the pro-gay establishment (no pun intended).

Since that have no moral or scriptural grounds to take the properties of leaving churches, they must go to the secular courts since the secular courts are not interested in what is moral or scripture. They are only concerned with legal principals and certainly favor every liberal cause these days.

TEC leaders know they can only legally steal the property of others. Were they to have an inking of what the Bible says, they know they would not take these properties. However, TEC would rather have empty churches they cannot sell at a reasonable value than to let the conservatives have them. It is the only victory the liberals have. It is part of their "growth by decline" strategy,

F the church.

Its always been about money, do you know why priests cant marry?

Nothing to do with god, or serving the church....its because the church was upset that when priests could marry and have children, when the priests died they left their property to their wife and kids....not the church......or the church lost property.....

.....so they made it a vow of priesthood to not have sex or wives or kids.

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, wealth, art, fancy robes, pope mobiles, the vulgar Vatican,

When will we stop this silly churchy god shit?

When? Damn we are too damn smart for this shit.

Gosh people just read something other than the bybull! Please.

"The Roman Catholic Church created this doctrine to gain wealth. If a priest can't marry then he can't have a legitimate heir and thus everything the priest has reverts back to the church upon his death. It's as simple as greed.

Very interesting. It's good to read logical answers like this, backed up with some sort of citation. Gullible people will always be taking advantage of. It's hard to know that people are still falling for this stuff in 2012. The bible is clearly an ancient story book that people have passed around. It was an essential step in evolution of mankind to grow compassion for others and establish morals. Of course someone figured out they could claim it the word of god and formed a profit generating machine. The decline began when man started learning the scientific truths and natural events can be explained.
